  1. The incident is being discussed here: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/29570-mason-fire-trucks-and-ems-back-to-x-base/
  2. I personally like Adventure Express and don't really want to see it go. I think that it's best ridden when sitting in the very back (specifically, the second to last row in the last car) and at night. During the day, Adventure Express is fun, but when the "Now you will pay" audio in the last tunnel doesn't work, the ride seems like it's missing something. At night however, it ride really comes alive and it doesn't matter whether the audio works or not because it's just crazy awesome!
  3. I thought it was cool that Zoombezi Bay made it in the Top 20 for most visited water parks in North America and the Children's Museum of Indianapolis made it in the Top 20 museums in North America. The Indy Children's Museum's ranking makes sense to me as I've heard it's pretty well-known as one of the top children's museums around, but I guess I didn't realize how popular Zoombezi Bay is.
  4. I believe that Scooby Bucks and Dora Dollars (a similar form of currency) could be used to help pay for food (and I'm guessing other things, but I don't know...) during the Paramount years. I remember that when I worked in Foods way back when, we treated these like $1 bills and I think we could only give real change back as opposed to giving a Scooby Buck back as change. For example, if you paid with a $5 and your meal was $3, I would give you two $1 bills back as change, not 2 Scooby Bucks (if this makes sense). This is about all I know/remember about the Scooby Bucks/Dora Dollars currency system (and my memory is a little foggy since these types of transactions occurred during my first year in Foods, which was 2006), but I'm sure other members might be able to explain in more detail.
  5. Good stuff so far, Gator. I actually might head down there later in the summer, so reading this is making me really excited to go!
  6. I agree, last time (which was also my first time) at Stricker's was awesome! I plan on going again this year and if I do end up going, I'd like to organize mini-golfing like I did last year
  7. Day 9's reading is as such: "We miss the friends who were forced to stay behind when Speedwell twice took on water, delaying our departure. We must believe the Mayflower will deliver us safely to the New World. We pray those left behind will join us someday." (quoted from http://www.holidayworld.com/66days/ (Day 9), my emphasis on the last sentence) I think Day 9 (especially the bolded part) is telling us that whatever the attraction(s) are, it will either be A: a project that will be rolled out in multiple phases or B: something that had to lose initial features at first, but that hopefully these features will be added in coming years (see Sheikra- IIRC, it was supposed to have floorless trains when it first opened, but they were not added until later).
  8. I saw it today and was blown away! It was pretty freakin' awesome! I thought the first few acts were cool, but I was really blown away when...
  9. Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but when I rode Adventure Express this evening, I noticed that the "Now you will pay" audio is back on in the last tunnel.
  10. I think it's OK to high-five people back; I give people high-fives all the time.
  11. I don't know if this has any relevance/relation to the new attraction, but the first result that came up when I searched "66 days at sea" via Google was this: http://www.amazon.com/66-Days-Adrift-Disaster-Survival/dp/0071438742. The second result was Holiday World's "66 Days at Sea" site.
  12. I went up Tuesday (5/20) afternoon/evening and had a good time. Highlights included riding Banshee twice (my first and last rides of the day), having the best ride on The Beast thus far this season because I didn't get a wheel seat (I was in the 1st car, 2nd row), enjoying the Train and riding Invertigo (which was great, but Banshee is still better!). EDIT: I almost forgot the amazing bread from Chicken Shack and I walked onto Vortex.
  13. My first looping coaster was Son of Beast. I was so nervous in line, but ended up enjoying it.
  14. Before I make my guess, I'd like to say that I really like this "66 Days at Sea" teaser for 2015; it reminds me a bit of the teasers for Banshee. From looking at the clues so far, I first thought it might be a launched family water coaster, but it could really been anything as its only Day 3 and we've got 64 days until the announcement.
  15. 4 rides so far; 2 at night, 2 during the day 2 in row 2, one in Row 4, first ride was in Row ??? All outside seats (2 right, 1 left) except for the last ride, which was on inside right
  16. Another song that played on FunTV (At least for Adventure Express and Vortex was "La La La" by Naughty Boy and Sam Smith... I heard that song three times Friday, twice being from FunTV . Overall, I like FunTV and was happy to see that Flight of Fear's pre-show video has not been replaced by FunTV. Also, although I enjoyed the Indiana Jones music for Adventure Express, it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would that it wasn't playing in line. Finally, I don't know if all the FunTV rides have been listed or not, but here's a list of places that FunTV exists (either through my observation or via others): -Banshee -Diamondback -Vortex -Boo Blasters -Delirium -Beast (though I didn't notice the TVs on Friday) (I'll add more once I think of them...)
  17. Banshee is my new favorite coaster at KI! :)

  18. So, I rode Banshee for the first time yesterday and it was pretty awesome! I especially love how fast it goes! I got four rides yesterday and each ride was different (which was a good thing!). First ride was on the right edge seat and was, as I put it on Twitter, "crazy awesome". The second ride was actually a bit better as my restraint seemed looser (I was in row 4 for the second ride, don't remember what row for the first one). The third ride was my first night ride on Banshee (I was in the 2nd row, same seat as first ride) and that was cool. The ride definitely felt faster and the lights were cool. The fourth ride was also in row 2, but on an inside seat, and that was great not just because of the fireworks, but because I always wanted to ride on an inside seat and finally got to (and the experience seemed different as a result)! Some other cool things about Banshee were that for the last 2 rides, I got to ride in the turquoise train (ride ops called it green), which I've wanted to ride in, and probably my favorite inversion is the barrel roll at the end. It reminded me of the time I went to Kings Dominion and rode Volcano. The barrel roll can be most felt by sitting on the outer seats. So, yes, Banshee is amazing and did indeed dethrone Invertigo as my favorite roller coaster at KI.
  19. Yes, as LoraX said, Banshee was amazing and I'm glad I got 4 rides on it last night/yesterday! I'll post more info in the Your Banshee Experience thread. EDIT: It was also great meeting up with fellow KICers for the 2nd half of my day!
  20. Have a Happy Easter/Opening Day weekend and remember the true reason for the season! :) John 3:16

  21. I'm actually really looking forward to seeing this show as I used to listen to Nsync and Backstreet Boys when I was a kid! -MDMC, who still listens to Nsync on occasion...
  22. It's officially Opening Day!!! :) :) :) :)

  23. One more day until Kings Island offically opens to the public for the 2014 season! :)

  24. No, it didn't launch through the loop. I think the picture was just exaggerating the size of the loop (and possibly trying to emphasize it) by making it bigger than the lift. Here's a link to a better picture of the real height difference between the lift and the loop: http://rcdb.com/68.htm#p=139
