  1. Just got back from seeing the Boyz are Back; great show as always :) Hopefully the Boyz (and the dancers) will be back next season! :)

  2. Even though I voted for a traditional wooden coaster for KI, it would be cool to see an original (not an re-tracking of an existing coaster) RMC hybrid come to Kings Island. And I don't think traditional wooden coasters are completely done for, either.
  3. I enjoyed reading your trip report and I totally agree with the suggestion that KI should use Locker Link. Kentucky Kingdom has a similar, if not identical, system and it worked great when I visited last month.
  4. Drop Tower was a one cycle wait about 30 mins ago. Delirum wasn't too bad of a wait either.
  5. If we are debating pancakes vs. waffles, pancakes wins in my book because they seem to taste better than waffles. I remember my grandma used to make small pancakes that she called Silver Dollars (because they looked like Silver Dollars one would find on a beach) and they were great. Also, other people I know such as my parents and my friend make really good pancakes. On the other hand, I only eat frozen waffles that are usually made by Eggo or Kroger.
  6. I was part of KI's Ice Bucket Challenge today at work ( ) and to be honest, I didn't know much about ALS before the challenge. At that point, the only thing I knew was that it is also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease (because of a baseball computer game I played when I was younger) and that I thought it caused paralysis (which upon further research, it turns out I was correct). I saw some family members and Facebook friends taking the Ice Bucket Challenge and checked out a video my aunt shared about the man who started this challenge. His name is Pete Frates and was diagnosed with ALS in March 2012. Check out this video for more info: http://nesn.com/2014/08/pete-frates-fight-against-als-that-inspired-viral-movement-featured-on-sportscenter-video/. EDIT: Also, this site explains what ALS is: http://www.alsa.org/about-als/what-is-als.html
  7. I totally agree about Action Zone being re-themed to Adventure Village. However, I think some of Oktoberfest could be absorbed into the new Adventure Village as well (I was thinking the pathway with Slingshot and Adventure Express). I personally like Action Zone/Oktoberfest the way they are for the most part, but if it had to change, I would definitely like to see the Adventure Village name come back. Oh, and Goetta at Kings Island would be amazing!
  8. That's just crazy that in the time it takes Millennium Force to ascend most of the lift, Dragster has already completed most of its course (0:06-0:17)!
  9. Had a full day at Kings Island; rode a ton of rides, went to Soak City, Saw my 10th Boyz are back show and the last Cirque Imagine show!

  10. Hey all. I just created the thread. I might add the Google Doc later on tonight or tomorrow (thanks Jonathon for the instructions! ).
  11. I agree. If it's cool with everyone, I can set up a meetup thread if we are in fact meeting up on Sunday for Cirque Imagine's last show. However, I cannot create the GoogleDoc as I don't know how to create a general GoogleDoc (one that is not linked with a specific Gmail address).
  12. According to the Kings Island app, it says that Cirque Imagine's schedule for next week will be as follows: T/W/R/F/Sunday- 3, 5 and 7 and Sat. 1:30, 3, 5 and 7. The other shows are not listed on the app's calender, so this may mean showtimes have not yet been decided.
  13. A 90's store would be amazing!!!! -MDMC, a huge fan of the 90's EDIT/NOTE: I think they should have the 90's stuff in addition to the 80's store and show as the 80's are super popular.
  14. That stinks that SkyRider is being removed. I never got a chance to ride King Cobra (well, I almost did, but that story is for another day...) and one of the reasons I been wanting to get up to Canada's Wonderland is to ride SkyRider as it seems to be an exact clone (or close to an exact clone) of King Cobra. Oh well...
  15. I know the last day for The Boyz are Back is Sept. 7th as I asked one time after a show. I'm definitively planning on attending the last show that day as I love this show! More on topic, I didn't realize that Cirque Imagine's last show was coming up so soon. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to make it due to other plans, but it did have a fantastic run this year and I would love for it to come back next year. EDIT: Striked out due to reflect the fact that Cirque Imagine ends August 17th. I still stand by my statement that it is/was a fantastic show and I'd love to see it again next year.
  16. Great trip report Malem; I'm glad I could join everyone for the last two hours! Vortex and Beast's night rides with the fog and darkness were just surreal; it almost felt like you weren't even at Kings Island anymore. On The Beast's second lift, I remember seeing the dark forest and 2 bright headlights in the distance (marking the top of the hill) and thinking "Are we even on planet Earth anymore?" And also, really glad I got 7-1 on that 2nd Vortex ride as the first drop was insane (and I always thought 7-2 was better...). But seriously, though, it was amazing.
  17. Line areas might to be too small for the ride? What kind of crowd are you expecting!?! Sorry, I think I was a bit unclear. I meant that if the ride was to go where The Crypt's former line area was (I was thinking the line area facing where the Demon Bat used to be right before you enter the ride), it may not fit as that area may not be big enough for a Troika.
  18. I voted for the trampoline act a while back and after seeing the show again last night, I'd have to say that part is still my favorite as it just looks really cool and fun. I also enjoyed seeing Hand2Hand.
  19. Honestly, I think that would be a pretty cool idea! They could even add some cool music and strobe lights; I'd most definitely ride it! The only problem is that I don't know where it could be placed as the Crypt's former ride area's ground would have to be raised and the line areas might be too small for the ride. Also, getting the ride in the building may be an issue with Diamondback and the new Haunt maze close by.
  20. Cirque Imagine was really good tonight; I enjoyed Hand2Hand more than last time. In other news, I've seen The Boyz are Back 9 times! :)

  21. Ok, cool. Thanks for the info
  22. Wasn't this arcade used for a Fearfest (under Paramount) maze at one time, or was that the other Coney arcade (the big one near Zephyr)?
  23. Got back from the park about a half hour ago... I was told Banshee was a half hour/45 minutes (I decided to skip Banshee this trip), Drop Tower had about 5 or 6 queues filled, so I think it was an hour or so (can't quite remember- it was worth it though! ). Firehawk didn't have an arrow pointing to any specific wait time (arrow was in top right corner), but I probably waited sometime within the 30 min range.
  24. (in response to goodyellowkorn's pictures of maps) That Alton Towers map looks like a bit like a picture from one of those I Spy books! That being said, I'd still love to go there sometime... Also, I noticed the map must be from a few years back because their current map looks a bit better: http://www.altontowers.com/useful-info/theme-park-maps/
  25. Just noticed that SRR is no longer listed on the park's website: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/things-to-do/family-rides
