  1. Great report, and an awesome day!! I guess I'm gonna have to break down and get a photobucket, or similar site acct. Or maybe my own server?!?! lol. Can't wait for the next event.
  2. Kind of off topic, but not entirely. As MrsNC and I walked along the path behind the Eiffel Tower, toward river town, there was a group of people bragging about " Oh, we always end up being escorted out of this MF'in place". As if it was a badge of honor, *sigh*.
  3. Rode it twice Saturday at the KIC event. First ride, 5th car back seat, felt kinda rough. Second ride, 4th car middle seat, much smoother. Other difference was 10:30 am first ride, around 8:30 pm second ride. Gotta believe that much wood, sitting in the sun all day, has to affect it. Might be acclimation to ride stress over the course of the day, but night rides always seem smoother to me.
  4. What an exciting and great day it was. I can't begin to express our appreciation to all involved in making it happen. Right from the start, it was obvious Don had a real interest in making it a special day. And Matt ( I hope I got the name right) from maintenance was very informative, and seemed quite passionate about his job. How many times are you going to see a LIM on the back of a Ranger? Had a blast with everyone, can't wait til the next event !! And again, a big "THANK YOU" to Don and all the KI staff, for a day we won't soon forget.
  5. I'm going to guess that a majority of this land that has been cleared is for a camp ground. "Field of Dreams". I'm hoping the other sections are for a floorless. Investing 1 of my 2 cents.
  6. I.D. Required, limit of x times per year. x number of specified care givers, max care givers 4 per visit.
  7. I had almost posted a long drawn out solution to this, but Mrs.NoChickens pointed out the obvious. Why couldn't the park give out discounted Fast Lane passes for autistic persons?
  8. Can't wait to get there !!! We do have a small issue, going to send you a PM, please answer ASAP.

  11. Never had La'Rosa outside the park, but if the sauce is the same, I'd love to try it. I had always guessed the pizza inside the park was a faster, cheaped down version of their chain version.

  13. We will be getting tics today, as soon as I get ink in printer
  14. Watching Finding Nemo while floating around in 650,000 gallons of water, classic.
  15. I've not posted on this topic much because the speculation of what is going on here is just to vague for me at this point. That said though, does anyone else see the possibility of the cleared area behind FoF possibly being used to connect X-base to AZ? I mean it doesn't HAVE to be all for the new ride, and I know many have said opening that area of the park would be a good idea. Probably have to reconfigure Firehawks queue, but in the grand scheme of things that would be a mild inconvenience.
  16. Hopefully we'll be able to make it, have to check with MrsNoChickens.
  17. Welcome to KIC. And I'll have to agree with the others that buying a fastlane pass on a Wednesday is probably not necessary. Even with the slow moving line that is Firehawk, you should still have more than enough time to ride everything. And as has been mentioned, when/if you do decide to tackle Firehawk, make sure you store all loose items in the lockers. As far as lunch, I'd recommend Festhaus. LaRosas pizza and Panda Express in the same building, and might catch a show while you eat?(not sure of weekday show times). I'm sure you'll have a good time, can't wait to hear about it.
  18. The speculations that have been posted are indeed interesting, to say the least. I will camp with those that are patient, and let the process evolve. The only true facts we have, is that a LARGE area of the park has been cleared, and they are pouring footers. I know, boring post. But I like to keep my $0.02 in the bank, until I see reason to invest it.
  19. I work 3rd shift, get home at 7am and could be there by 10, but MrsNoChickens has to work Fridays, I doubt she'd be keen on me going without her, lol. We do have plans for some mid-week visits this summer, but no dates set as yet.
  20. Well, after riding it Saturday, I'd say it's just fine . New restraints, and a fearsome, fast, exciting ride. The only thing broken about it is its location.
  21. Sadly the problems weren't limited to the Reds HoF grille. Food services in general seemed to struggle throughout the entire day. Be it understaffed, computer issues, or just the opening day onslaught, it was bad. Excluding one particular server though, the staff seemed to be trying their best to deal.
  22. We rode Woodstock Express first ride of the day(tradition), and the woman sitting in front of us mentioned the great smell of grease on wood, we concurred. The sun was out at the time, and it was an awesome olfactory experience.
  23. The lack of the seat belt connection on FD did cause MrsNoCHickens some anxiety, and we both thought it felt faster. The Beast flowed better than it has in years with the lighter trim brakes, though my big belly is still sore from having the lap bar to tight, lol. We actually thought the #'s were down quite a bit for Fast Lane riders. We even discussed that maybe they had found the limit for cost vs. worth. The Vortex breakdown kept us out of line, instead we wandered off and road The Racer again, 15 mins from line entrance to off ride. And then to FD, walk on ride, and letting people stay on ride unless someone happened to be in that cars queue. AE was also a very short 30 min wait even though the queue was nearly out to the main pathway.
  24. Racer!!! Back to it's original colors.
  25. I spent 10 years in machine repair, best time of my life. The average size of the machines I worked on was probably 6 feet wide and maybe 20 feet long. To work on a machine that covers ACRES?!?!? I both appreciate, and respect these brave people that walk the tracks, tighten the bolts, and watch out for our safety.
