  1. Rode Vortex last Friday, tried out 5-1, and it was the best ride I've got from it in a long time. I personally hope it's there for years to come.
  2. True, but they are over head, and if they snapped, most likely, no harm would be done. Any recoil should be contained within the tower. ( the most likely being I guess some shards could fly)
  3. I guess I could have worded that better. A couple of people after noticing the shirt and asking about it, then intended to check out the site.
  4. I had a few people mention the shirt Friday, and either comment having looked on this forum, or intending to. That is the other point, to attract more people and opinions to this site.
  5. I rode with the same guy on DB, and I thought it was getting a little rough as well. I was wearing my KIC shirt, saw Beastie1980, and MDMC01 there. Shame I missed anyone else, is why I wear the shirt ;-). Rough or not I got 5 rides on DB, including my first no hands, and no hands no feet rides, lol. Also got 2 in on The Beast, 1 each AE, FoF, Vortex, Racer, and Fight Deck. Left the park at about 6:30 so I could be home when MrsNC got home from work. I can only imagine my totals without the downtime for weather. Very light crowd through the day time hours.
  6. Shine-Collective Soul, heard it Friday
  7. I was gonna just let this go, but ...... Drop Tower is a much different ride. It has no cables to snap, it brakes using magnets. Aliens could attack and shut off power for miles, Drop Zone would still land safely.
  8. Wrong thread perhaps? As for me I've never rode it. I might though :-)
  9. Again and again, soon it may be correct.
  10. Owl replicas are effective at keeping birds away, so not a winged? (not that I thought it was).
  11. And I even thought about another edit, lol
  12. I'll use the DVR for football ;-). Games can be recorded, events like this can not. Edit: they can be, but not the same ( had some Terpy paranoia ) lol
  13. Welcome to KIC!! Hope you have a wonderful time.
  14. Sundays are rough for us, but I'll bet we find away :-)
  15. Depending on your size, pushing yourself up in the restraints seems to help as well.
  16. I understand the need for the trim brakes in the shed, I just wish they'd take out a little more. Rode a near empty train ERT June 21st, and it absolutely killed the ride. :-/
  17. Seal?!? Maybe Steve Miller is in the park?
  18. I'll have to go with Invertigo.
  19. When we went the 21st of June, we made a point of watching. All day long it was water in the air, and a train on the lift hill. About all you can ask for IMHO.
  20. I rode it, great ride.
  21. Wow, flying between all that wood would have to be intense.
  22. Web cams seem to be stuck on 6-25-2013, either that, or that group in the orange shirts are taking an awful long time to get their picture right ;-)
  23. Still one of my favorite rides, hopefully for many years to come. For both myself and the ride !!
  24. Great pics of the ride construction, no idea what it is yet, but I have found confirmation of what the rest of the land clear is for !!
  25. I tend to prefer the front of most rides. Hanging over the edge on the first hill as the weight of the train clears the lift....especially The Beast, is great. Call me a wimp if you will, but I hate being thrown around in the back of most trains. Diamondback on the other hand has NO bad seat I have found, love it back, center, or front !! Though I will say the view from the front 2 rows, is amazing. The night after my first front seat ride on DB I even dreamed it again, that view, as the track falls away under you, is outstanding.
