  1. It has never caused a problem, doesn't mean it never will. The lockers, a zippered or deep pocket, are really the safest choices both for the device, and other passengers or persons on the ground. And by deep pocket, I mean one that will allow the phone to sit on your thigh, beneath the bend at your hips in a sitting position. Not a real issue on WindSeeker, but something like Banshee, it could be. Not trying to preach, just an observation. Anything made by man, has a potential to fail.
  2. My review, and just my opinion, complete waste of time and space.
  3. Here is a video from The Food Network, featuring The Taco Shoppe. Not the best quality.
  4. There should be a lesson in there for Fast Lane, but as it would degrade it's value, I doubt it will be learned. Though some might argue, myself for example, that a limited Fast Lane, with a lower price tag, might increase sales to the point of offsetting the current plan. Lets say once on everything, and a second on 2 rides of your choice. And in fact, this could actually allow a substantial increase in cost, for sales of the current version. I would see this as a win for everyone, lower number of Fast Lane users overall on the most popular rides, and a chance for the park to gouge, err.... I mean give the opportunity to, those willing to pay. Now this wouldn't come without some kind of growing pains of course. The days of the wrist band would have to be over, except for the unlimited version of course. But something as easy as a punch card could take it's place, like Haunt already uses . Or of course, bar code scanners, or electronic devices, like Flash Pass at Six parks.
  5. As I don't track ride counts, only coaster counts, it would be hard to actually say. But, I'd be willing to bet if there was a way to recover that data, it would most likely be The Beast. On a side note, it actually took me a few visits last year, to purposely erase from my mind my # of Banshee rides.
  6. This topic still gets my same response. Until the parks police YouTube, or any other video post sites, and request videos be removed, this will continue. If you remove the forum, you remove the life it gives. Strict enforcement is also recommended, a few ejections, and a sign that lists " x people have been ejected from the park this year for violating the on ride device usage rule, don't be x+1" would go a long way as well.
  7. A great new B&M dive coaster looms on the horizon. I personally can't wait to ride it. It sets sail under a rain of negativity. A storm brought by many I perceive, that may only be following others perceptions. There are a total of 2 B&M dive machines operating in the U.S. Yet the number of negative comments would lead one to believe almost everyone has ridden one, and that they suck. I have rode 1, of the 2, that exist in this country, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
  8. This is again, something I've done my best not to comment on. Through the Blackfish thread, the Steve-0 stunt, and all the hype, but it has to end. SeaWorld has in it's care, a very small percentage, of the various life forms found on this great blue marble we call home. As far as I can tell, none of the current residents they have in their care were captured from the wild for our amusement. Most are descendants of a different time, when our understanding of the effects of captivity, were largely misunderstood, or ignored. The few others they keep captive are animals that are not suited to be rehabilitated for release into the wild. In each of those scenarios, if SeaWorld were to release the animals they have "captive", I can all but guarantee their life span would be greatly reduced. The conservation efforts that are supported by this company are almost never mentioned. I watched a program today, where they saved a baby Leatherback sea tortoise. It was born deformed from being in the bottom of the nest, the weight of the sand and it's siblings actually bent its spine. It was taken to Seaworld Orlando, protected, examined, treated, rehab'ed, and released. SEAS, in my opinion, does much more good than harm. Especially given the massive swing they have had to endure, from concept, to our current understanding.
  9. Or, maybe, just maybe they meant. "Due to yesterday's incident, we are respectfully postponing our 2016 announcement event. Thank you for your patience and understanding." SMH, sometimes a show of respect, could be just that. A tragedy occured, we'll wait for our announcement, out of respect . If you're going to put that much into it, there are people that will say they asked for it by naming Banshee. Same chain of thought.
  10. Just another reason for me to go to Orlando next year :-)
  11. Sigh, after much insight, this is my only reply. Common sense, isn't that common anymore.
  12. I get tired of saying this, I'm 51 years old, some of my best Vortex rides have came in the last 2 seasons. This coaster is one of the best Arrow Loopers ever made. It broke 3 records when it opened. If you ride in 5-1 or 7-1, it really isn't off par with any "modern" looper. I got off Kumba feeling about the same as a Vortex ride. I don't get the "remove Vortex" thing. If you don't want to ride it , don't. It holds special memories to some, myself included.
  13. We are? I've never even been there. As to where, I have no idea. I'd love it if they found a set though.
  14. 2 nights ago. Some how found myself walking with Chugh43 down the path away from The Beast, towards Coney Mall. It was pitch black, and somehow I deciphered it to be around 3 am. I was in panic mode, I remember saying " Don's going to be mad ". Chugh43 responds, "It'll be ok" . I look around and see Vortex, it has solid black supports, with white rails and spine, black cross ties. (looked very cool btw). As we walked on toward Coney Mall, Zodiac was there. Something woke me up at that point. I have no idea why we were there, or Zodiac for that matter, lol. I hated that ride.
  15. already being discussed here. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/31281-cedar-fair-pickers-scour-europe-for-vintage-amusement-park-rides/
  16. I enjoyed 3 wonderful rides on it just yesterday. And I agree with Homestar, I'd rather go to a fight night at SFA, than ride that infernal Vekoma boomerang in AZ. Doesn't mean I want it torn down. I've said it before, each ride holds memories for people. Some love rides others hate. To each their own. Any ride being retired hurts the overall experience for someone. Not to mention this particular ride, as I remember, broke 3 records when it opened. It's historical significance alone should be enough to buy it a few more years. But, then again, history seems to mean little to most any more.
  17. While bracing can help, don't fight the ride too much. Being overly tensed up and fighting against the ride can actually make it worse. I'm not saying to ride like a rag doll, but flow with it.
  18. excuse my double post Exactly interpreted again by Interpreter. To a point. But the ride stacking again is also an issue.
  19. As much as I complained about this last year, Diamonback had a good start this season. I've not been able to get back to the park for a couple weeks, but I've heard it has fallen back into Diamondstack. The seat belt debate is mute at this point. I've seen it run well with them.
  20. Yes, exactly what I meant. As always, interpreted to be as it was meant to be ;-)
