I agree. I still am tied between 84 and 13, both are great rides, but which one I could sit and marathon forever, still undecided. Wheras Maverick, 34, everytime, all the time, ah..perfect.

Oh I thought you meant ride ops interacting w/ the guests. No most guests, you can raise it up if you wish (like me) or be quiet..I choose the first option. Oh and up there hell no, unless I know it's a fight I can take, however yeah some people at that park are a little..lets stop there haha. The policy is the same as stated on the ride entrances/etc. It's enforcement or policy as stated to ride ops may be a different story.

I just wish they chose an LED that has a yellow old fashioned hue to it. Would I prefer old incandescent, oh of course. But the bright white LEDs..It's nice seeing lights, but it is somewhat awkward -
IF..keyword IF Corkscrew is ever removed from CP, I expect something like that to happen. However a classic ride such as that should not be removed ever.

Never had line jumpers get violent with me as an employee.. As a ride op for the ride they line jump, I hold their admission to the ride in my hands, and their admission in the park for that matter. They get lippy, I look up to controls or platform, one call security comes. They either have left right then or will continue to fight, then be kindly escorted out by one or more members of security. Plain and simple. I've had irate guests, but that's a whatever I can easily push that to the side. Rules are rules, they're the same everywhere in the park and do not change. Quick and fair enforcement of the policies makes sure events like this stay at a minimum, so when they do happen and we intervene, it ends easily.

1/2 priced draft-beer during Reds games

I like to relax with a Stella or Stella Cidre inside Reds Grille, refreshing and nice. I wish they had the Shock Top lineup like other venues in the park, or Angry Orchard (just not in cans). I too am a Bourbon fan, will probably have a glass tonight to relax, didn't really relax all weekend. Speaking of which I really wish they had a full service bar inside. I'd love to have a Bacardi Cocktail, a Gimlet, or Manhattan with an appetizer, that'd be a fantastic experience. Can't really call it a Bar and Grille for a few ok beers, bud mixers (yuck), and cheap wines. Hell I can't call it a Bar & Grille for the lack of bottle openers after yesterdays experience..sigh LET ME BARTEND I'LL DO IT FOR YOU! -
Especially at a FUN park, proudly a six flags park, however unaffiliated with SIX

Sadly that mood went away by Sunday afternoon...

Andrew's Trip Reports for the 2014 Season

My largest gripe..How does a BAR and Grille not have a bottle opener handy especially after buying one bottle already? I would have loved to have a second Stella but..no bottle opener..still have to shake my head there. -

In regards to Terps earlier comments..New LED lights on the Carousel are already out in a few places lol -
Oh I agree there with ya and see your point. However, it is a park policy but it's poorly enforced, but yes it is a top down issue, and needs addressed amongst other issues I have. But I'll continue to call out those who cut the line. A military voice does carry weight, and if they'd like to start something I do have KI's security post number memorized quite well

Line jumping is a joke in the park, as I typically will enforce it myself because ride ops don't have backbones at this park unfortunately. Same with cameras on rides, etc. If you see it, call them out yourself, they give you crap let it escalate they'll notice and hopefully take care of the situation. Just be calm about it not totally irate as you may see yourself getting booted as well. But as others have said, people do it, no issues. My rides, I'll watch the queue and whatnot during crowd control. I saw it, I fill the station a little or stop the line depending on, go down, kick em out of line and remember their face. See it again, you're of the park folks. Simple as that. Effective, easy, and straightforward.

Small things that need changed at Kings Island.
thedevariouseffect replied to OpSonofBeast's topic in Kings Island
True story..One and only day I got voluntold to be a sweep was hell. Rainstorm (we actually swept rain), hot, cruddy uniform (old hot epaulet uniform), guests, and lots of walking. Laying down after a 12 hour day like that, oh fantastic. Being a ride sup was a much better gig. I'll run around a train or ride plat and clear/dispatch all day. -

When I'm in the park I go around like a child alone in the toy store, just go do whatever ride, attraction, or show you see. Plain and simple. You need a break here and there, by all means go ahead. -
I use L to R, F to B So 84 is back right 81 is back left 83 third seat from left, last row You get the drift Some rides use different numbering systems & whatnot, they get changed accordingly.

You can get train horns for a car: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5C2Z7f1e-7Q Easy install for as minimum as 250 http://www.hornblasters.com/

I want train horns, just because. All Honda horns sound miserable.

It's it's mating call haha, every ride at KI has em..Invertigo is still the most ridiculous..DB is most obnoxious

Still love seeing the control system on that ride, never looked at it until a few weeks ago, Terp gets credit for that one. -
Seatbelts should not create this much of a hassle, when in fact the restraint is quite easy to check to begin with. I swear, I want to go on platform and show how it's done, it's pathetic. Even with a quite brilliant and redundant restraint design, CF feels the need to add these to the rides, and B&M may have had input as well. Safety is the number one priority. If this improves safety, it's a good decision, regardless of a greatly redundant restraint or not.

The off season for some reason gets thought of as an empty quiet period at seasonal parks, when in fact, it's such a busy time and sadly such a small window to get so much done. Think each track is walked numerous times, inspected, repairs done to the track, supports, etc. The trains completely disassembeled to the smallest bolt, new parts put in place. Test runs and maint. runs on every ride, state inspections, new construction, changes to rides and retrofits, upgrades, etc. All of this mainly happening in the winter, which mind you this was a pretty bad one. There's alot going on, and this is just rides. This doesn't involve the shops, games, food areas, etc. It's busier than you think.
