I think the biggest question now is when is Grain & Grill will open ? Hoping for this Saturday but more realistic would be first weekend in May. thoughts?

my information is that they are not upselling summer, gold, platinum pass holder the $15 difference to park in preferred this year due to prestige passes. They can pay full price preferred online the day before or same day at tolls only. they only have a certain allotted amount to sell online. they have the tech to have vouchers and prestige to scan entering and exiting just like the tolls as a way of knowing the amount of spaces available to prevent overselling. hopefully they can expand the area in the future. Edit: I now have the correct information that season passes ca upgrade to preferred parking for $25. It was told before the season opened that it will not be offered and now that has changed.

some of the best guests are those who look at the positive day they had and not dwell on the one negative issue that happened. it maybe some food not warm enough, or some teens being rowdy, line jumping but they focus on the moment of being in the park and still enjoying themselves. it is always easier to complain about your day then give positive day outcome. don't let a bad issue influence your whole day.

one of the big reasons I bought the PP was for VIP area. Just a place to "get away" from the crowds and relax without seeing many people in the park or people watch. I know the temp area is fine and cannot wait to see the completed permanent structure and with restaurant and drink location so close I don't care about the offerings other than a nice place to sit to relax.

All the catholic elementary and high schools are out on spring break and the home schooled kids and stay at home moms with kids and people who took a vacation day for a 3 day weekend to go , and high 70's for weather with no rain; gonna bet it will be busy and busier later as other schools get out for the day to join in the madness that is preview day 2023.

Looks like the fountains have a couple of issues for the nozzle jets are not streaming in the front and 2 on the right side. Hopefully to be corrected in the coming month before fireworks show starts. Also it looks like they moved the camera up more so you cannot see the KI sign anymore.

During his speech at the 50th anniversary celebration, Mike Koontz said he MIGHT possibly retire at the end of the 50th anniversary celebration or stay one more year afterward. Also today I noticed on LinkedIn Rick Bulhumeur , listed as Assistant GM at Schlitterbaun in Galveston TX. and that he had ended his VP of operation at KI in August. I very much enjoyed this encyclopedia of roller coaster enthusiasts jargon and talk about roller coasters. I saw some things I did not know. This was very enjoyable. The only thing I would add is under “G” for Griswald - showing up at a park that is closed because they did not view the operations calendar expecting it to be open. “The Clark family made a Griswald by driving 3 1/2 hours to a closed park” OR being the first ones to show up on a operating day. “Rusty was so excited because he was the Griswald at the front gate” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
