To be fair, Mystic Timbers is a totally different ride and thus marketed as such. Most of the future updates will be about park information, post COVID-19.
-
The marketing they did stopped at the same time the pandemic shutdowns started to occur. At that point there was some in the industry who thought the season would be lost (check out AttractionPros podcast at that time). Now since stuff is beginning to reopen in a modified world, where new information is now being posted about by the parks.
-
I think they are, as long as they are updated. Look at the Haunted Mansion and POTC, two quality dark rides, periodically updated, are still crowd favorites.
-
Well, KI isn’t a sports team, the marketing of each business is a completely different field. In fact when KI reopens, I am willing to bet that more of the stuff released by the park will be related to park information rather than Orion.
-
You market once a ride opens, as guests are able to ride it.
-
Also, it’s important to note, we’re coming off of one of the worst pandemics in modern history. Why would the park promote something that people may have not been able to ride due to the severity of the pandemic?
-
However, Orion is so large, the ride will practically market itself. The size of the ride will cause the ride to be widely talked about.
-
It isn’t the park’s responsibility for them to provide info to enthusiasts. The reason why the people broke park policy is because they have little respect for the park or the community.

Another long lost proposed Kings Island Wooden coaster!

From when went on Racer, it seems to be smoother closer towards the rear of the train. -
The Beetle didn’t slam into the brakes as the final drop was heavily trimmed.

Coronavirus Impacting Theme Parks

Lotte World in Korea is now closed. Someone who was positive with COVID-19 got into the park. -
You could say that. They had several at Coney.

You should try it out. The middle is most intense, in my opinion. -
It was similar. Beetle was made by S.D.C, while Wildcat was made by Schwarzkopf.

I’ve been on a few, they’re really rough, but fun. IMO, the roughness can be a bit overwhelming at times.
-
I’m guessing because many of the sets may have interfered with the Picnic Grove. On the tours I’ve taken, the sets are up against the Picnic Grove.
-
That’s the million dollar question.

Middle rows are the best on the 3 bench cars. Trust me. -
Nice restoration. It’s interesting that the ride was popular (all images I’ve seen is of the ride with a full queue), but nobody took images of the ride.

Shout out to @Oldschool75 for the help with referencing the actual ride. Fun fact: I did not realize there were two sets of lighting fixtures on the ride. One set (I refer to them “Davit arms”) were on the drop, while the three piece sets were in the turns.
-
The fact it was made out of Fiberglass answers one question I had, how was the figure supported. I couldn’t find any alteration to the supports of the structure in the original photographs. It’s still a neat addition they added to the ride.
-
Unfortunately, there’s no good view of the figure on the Beetle.
-
That’s pretty neat. Are any of the figurines still around?
-
Thank you for the response. The lighting was a pain, as each individual light fixture severely slowed my laptop down. At the time I recorded, my PC was at 5 FPS. Is there any reason why the fixture was added later on?

The Bavarian Beetle is a ride that is very mysterious. We know everything about the ride, but we know very little about it’s operation at Kings Island. I did a recreation and article about the ride. It’s fascinating to note that the commonly accepted stats of the ride are incorrect. You can check out the recreation I made here: https://coasternation.com/kings-islands-bavarian-beetle-pov/
