  1. I'd definitely say go for. The gold pass will pay for itself after two visits between admission, free parking, plus 10% off all food and drink in the park. And you can use it through the start of November for Halloween Haunt too. I live about 2 hours away myself and only make it out a few times a year but I have been getting a gold pass the past few years and haven't regretted it at all.
  2. And it's not a bad thing to go away at all. Honestly I think some of the best coasters aren't ones that are setting out to break a record but focus more on the quality. Look at Banshee, yes it has the record of longest but not by much and it's one that many people aren't going to focus on. The general public looks at height, speed, and number of inversions. But Banshee is a hit because it is a quality ride. Same with Maverick at Cedar Point. I think it's one of their best coasters and there was nothing record breaking about it, just a fun compact coaster that focused on a great experience, theme, and thrills. And Universal and Disney are major destination places that people travel from all of the world to go to and shell out tons of money and I rarely see the push the boundaries on the extremes. What they focus on is a quality ride experience and that's how it should be.
  3. Most weekdays in general dont' seem too bad for Kings Island. I always try to go then. May can get a bi busy with school trips but usually not terrible and will die off later in the day when they head back. And August after they head back to class is great too. But should be good with a Tuesday or Wednesday especially anytime. Most waits I have experienced then are around 10-15 minutes. Firehawk is one of the few exceptions since it has slower load times and such.
  4. I'm sure the Banshee will pull more crowds back to it in multiple ways. People riding Banshee can see it clearly, plus more visible with the new paint as well The new theme and name can trick some people into thinking it's a new ride completely I know there were a lot of people that didn't even really know there was something back there so now it will get more attention.
  5. I would wait up to 3 hours for my first ride if I had to, after that probably 90 minutes would be my limit unless every other line was huge as well. That said I did skip a projected 2 hour wait on Sunday so I guess my vote wasn't really accurate. But it was much shorter later so think I made the right call.
  6. IT didn't even seem to do it's full swing yesterday. only seemed to o perpendicular to the ground and not as far as it usually does. And the muted colors on it look fine it's just that there is no design to it. Before it had the different colored ring and colors at the base of the legs that matched the pendulum to tie it together. Now it is just very plain. Fine with the use of those colors just wish it had more visual interest. Do something like maxAir at Cedar Point with those colors. Than it can be muted, doesn't have the checkerboard pattern but would look better.
  7. I dont' expect anything major for 2015 but I think there is a chance for a new ride or two but be something small like Flying Scooters or something. Most of the other Cedar Fair parks seemed to get them this year that didn't already, so I could see them making a return next year. Would be fairly cheap and allow them to still advertise something new coming.
  8. Haven't gotten to experience Banshee at night yet but be hard to top The Beast. I'm sure it will look amazing and have awesome lighting effects and stuff, but there's just something so different about the seclusion in the woods at night. Best coaster experience has been in 2008 rode it last thing during Halloween Haunt. My friend and I were in the front row with only two other people in the very back so you couldn't hear them. Seeing only the track and no other sounds in the middle of night was amazing. Felt completely alone in the middle of nowhere flying around the track. Be amazing if Banshee can top that but as long as it comes close it will be amazing.
  9. Boo Blasters did need a bit of care towards it. It has never looked that great to me, but numerous times it seemed the targets weren't working then would turn on right as you were passing by. And the skeleton room was silent and motionless with no working target until we started going out of it then everything turned on. However the guns (at leas the ones in our car, #4) seemed to be working better than they ever have. And I agree about the TVs in the queue, ruins the atmosphere of it entirely. That or at least put more fitting songs on it than pop stuff. They had Demi Lavato's version of Let It Go playing while we were in line. Completely opposite sounds and visual for a haunted house. Also I'm not sure if they are still doing some work on it or what but Flight of Fear could use some care too. The TVs in the queue weren't on and only a few of the lighting effects, nothing inside the ship seemed to be working just low lighting to be able to sit but all the colored lights were off. You could even hear the train launching out in the queueline since there was no sound.
  10. It looks nice with the fresh coat and think it looks better in person than in the pics, but to me it just feel unfinished. I liked the way it looked when it first opened, and how maXair has theirs, but Delirium right now just seems kind of blah and thrown together.
  11. Banshee was amazing. Rode it 3 time yesterday. Got a ride in the middle, back row and front row. Front and back were the best of course. Love the first drop in the back being pulled over the hill, but the front see is amazing being propelled through the zero-g roll and down the hill into the valley. First time I rode it didn't think the forces seemed to bad from the way it was being described, but then we got in the valley and that second half is definitely intense. I can't wait to go and experience a night ride on it.
  12. I can't wait for Sunday to head out there. My anticipation was already high enough bit after seeing all the reports and photos from yesterday it's unbearable now.
  13. What was on ERT today besides Banshee?
  14. I coulndt' really tell in the video but does The Bat still stop for a moment on the lift hill like it used to or is it continuous now?
  15. I love the whole theme and look for the ride. And the station looks great. The lights for it are awesome looking and really make a big impact
  16. Everything looks amazing for it. Can't wait to go on Sunday. Only downside is with them only being open 12-7 I won't be able to see it at night until my next visit.
  17. Something like Blue Fire would be awesome for our next coaster. Think something like that or even Maverick would be awesome and have it be a bit of a terrain coaster as well.
  18. I have a couple of friends with similar proportions and both my parents are bigger. The only rides they have trouble with or can't fit on are Drop Tower and sometimes have issues with WindSeeker as well, but have had no troubles with the other rides.
  19. Madame Fatale's is easily my favrite one they have had in years.
  20. Was the same decision for me but I ended up going with Delirium.
  21. This was a touh one but went with The Beast. It's classic and unique. Love Diamondback, Adventure Express, and Firehawk as well. And I'm sure Banshee will be great but s I havne't ridden it yet I can't really vote for it until next weekend.
  22. It was Hanna Barbara when I was a kid and I remember riding all the rides there with it. Smurfs boat ride and always sat in the Jabberjaw seat one the carousel. Then changed to Nick when I was a ten but watched most of the cartoons anyway so liked it as well, but did miss some of the nostalgia. So I'm kind of biased to those two. But they aren't really that identifiable anymore for the people going there. Peanuts works since it's something everyone knows and will for a long time so appeals to kids and adults. But given the choice I'd take Looney Tunes over them. They are fun and can be a bit more vibrant and dynamic in the area. And they have that same universal timeless quality that Peanuts has as well. Everyone knows those characters
  23. I agree with upstop a bit on the shooting rides, but it's more because they always seem so low budget to me. they tend to mostly be cutouts and flat scenes. If they made a good immersive one I wouldn't mind it as much. Plus with ours the guns are horrible. Half the time they don't work and you can't tell where you're shooting. I do prefer the traditional dark ride over the shooting ones still. I would love to see us get a return of the Phantom Theatre or something like the Haunted Castle at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
  24. The quality has just gone down with every change. Boo Blasters is very poor, Scooby Doo was a minor step up from it. Phantom Theatre though was great. It was definitely a higher quality with lots of animatronics and tricks to it, good full scenes as well. Everything now is fairly static and mostly cardboard cut outs.
