Poor Phantom Theater was victim to excessive gum and spitting, especially at the end of its life.

I do this too... I always put it on a chair over by the little kid pool because its always super crowded and I like to think that the the abundance of the watchful mommies in the area will deter people from taking my stuff. I never risk it with anything very valuable though. That's exactly where I left my stuff last time. Lots of moms were hanging around in the area at the time.

Cedar Fair Quarter Two Results
thegajone replied to thedevariouseffect's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
That's one of the first thoughts that entered my head as well. That seems like an unnecessary gamble to me though. IMO the only area of CF parks where the pricing integrity should be challenged is with regards to concessions. -
Cedar Fair Quarter Two Results
thegajone replied to thedevariouseffect's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I have frequently wondered what kind of impact the reduced ticket prices would have. In order for the deals to be worth it to Cedar Fair, the number of "I wasn't going to go to KI for the regular price, but I'll go now that it only costs $30 to get in" guests would have to outweigh the number of "Sweet, I was going to make my annual trip to KI this year anyway and now I only have to pay $30 instead of $47" guests, and I'm not sure that happened. Plus the guests that can only afford to come for the discounted price aren't going to spend money in the park, and it costs you more to staff the park to keep up with the increase in attendance caused by cheaper admission. So your profit margin dips, and profit margin seems way more important to me than gross revenue. -
My last trip to Soak City I left my stuff in my beach bag along with a towel on a lounge chair in a crowded area in Soak City. I rode slides and did the lazy river and came back a couple hours later and everything was untouched. Then I dried off, threw on a shirt and some flip flops and headed to the dry park with all my stuff in the same spot. I came back several hours later and once again my belongings were in the same spot I left them. Granted I didn't leave anything of value behind anyway (except my cell phone), and I don't recommend anyone else to try this, but I will say that sometimes the safest hiding spot is the one in plain sight.

Cedar Fair Quarter Two Results

Would love to see a park-by-park breakdown. All I know is increasing capital the way they have while seeing profits decrease is not a good combination. What's the incentive in adding new attractions if your profit not only doesn't increase, but actually decreases? -
The 4 digit number system works fine if you are diligent about covering up the number when entering it.

Amen. I don't mind assigned seating as long as 2 conditions are met: 1. it has been observed by ride ops that pulsing the line results in the GP allowing empty rows and seats to leave the station too frequently, and 2. assigning seats results in full trains leaving the station regularly. Otherwise I get pretty annoyed with the concept. I honestly think that pulsing results in trains being at least as full if not more full than seat assigning, but I don't work there so I could be wrong.

I too hope for a name change as I think the original name is kind of hokey and too long. What I'll be interested in is whether or not they go with a location change as well.

Several times more than the price of the parks themselves? That's pretty crazy.

Disney Fastpass+ at Walt Disney World

Pretty bummed to hear this rumor, but hopefully it is replaced with something awesome. -
It's mystifying to me why they would feel the need to assign seats on that ride rather than just pulse the line.
-
I should clarify; I could absolutely believe that there are posters who occasionally exaggerate, embellish and flat out lie on here. I just hope this wouldn't be the topic for it, lol.
-
Some of mine are probably hard to believe but I assure you I heard them with my own ears. I wouldn't be so quick to accuse posters of lying on here.
-
Right, it's not like it interferes with the ride experience at all.

Will Diamondback always be the tallest at KI?
thegajone replied to skylar.heizer's topic in Coming Attractions
I thought of both of those, but I just think KI is different, and I'll admit I can't really explain why. Don't get me wrong, I fully expect them to get one eventually, but I think it's at least 2/3 coasters away. -

I don't know, I just don't see a giga happening within 15 years of a hyper. Not enough variety among the 2 through they eyes of the layperson IMO. My prediction is that they'd put in at least a couple more niche coasters before adding a hyper; maybe a floorless or wing or dive or something like that. Then again if CF keeps up their trend of going with B&M for major coaster projects, I guess I could see a hyper being installed 1 or 2 major coasters from now. But things can and likely will change over time, especially in such a wide time frame in this industry. Looks like I'm basically saying that I have absolutely no idea what to predict, which is why I think this is a great topic. -

Great question, OP. I'm setting the over/under at 15 years. And I think that may even be too low. I just think that the next 2/3 major coasters they go with are going to fill other niches besides height and speed. But I obviously could be wrong. -
That worked!

How to ride Magnum XL 200
thegajone replied to dragsterguy21's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
The back seat of the front car is typically the magic seat for airtime for wood coasters, hypers and gigas.Enjoy! Is this true for Diamondback? I cant tell much diffrence. The second row of the first car on DB is probably my favorite row on that ride, so I fully believe it. I just never really put 2 and 2 together -
It's not too uncommon, and I'm feeling OK, there's just some fluid built up on the right side and they are being as cautious as possible. I am definitely looking forward to getting back to the park when this is all over with!

Unfortunately I am back in the hospital with pneumonia Hopefully I won't be stuck in here too long and will be back to normal in no time. In the meantime I have enjoyed reading posts covering a wide variety of topics on here, it really helps keep my mind off of things while I'm sitting here awake in the middle of the night with not much else to do. This is my favorite message board by far to peruse these days so I appreciate the free entertainment!

They owe us no explanation; however, one would certainly be nice!
