And it's a shame what happened to that coaster. How it was left to rot to pieces. That was a good addition for Camden because it had a small footprint and was not so an intimidating coaster that it frightened their demographic.

Things you first experienced at Kings Island
KIBeast replied to Magenta Lizard's topic in Kings Island
I agree Voicetek. KI has provided many great memories for me. I would say I have two separate sets. One set being from when I was a kid and enjoying HB land, many cool flat rides, being chicken of riding The Racer, catching a show, enjoying LaRosa's while just being enamored with the fountains and Eiffel Tower. I remember my grandparents going one year with us and I was too afraid to ride The Beast, which was new then, but it didn't stop my grandfather from riding. He really enjoyed it and for him, it was a record breaking experience. Then, I have great memories of teen to 30 years old. My teen years it was myself, my brother, and my two uncles who made every trip really fun. Great times riding only coasters and the more extreme flat rides. We always separated at one point because my uncles always wanted to catch a show and my brother and I wanted to get more laps in on the coasters. We would meet back after they caught a show to do some evening/night rides on The Beast, Vortex, and Racer. -
For the record, Coke is better But then again, Mountain Dew is better than Mello Yello. Now, as far as choice in an amusement park, I would rather see Coke over Pepsi any day. Just my opinion

Generally speaking, drop rides are popular, but I'm not sure after what happened there that they should have installed one. At least, not the timing of it. There are countless other flats that they could have chosen. I have never been to KK, and from all the negative publicity for the park via the accident plus the government involvement that is a huge mess, I have no intention of visiting there. I might go another year once the dust settles from all the political power plays.

I like Mello Yello, but it doesn't have the Dew kick

I believe Backlot's on-ride photo is on the launch out of the station.

The Ivy Tunnel. Biggest coaster when I first started attending was Racer. First looping I rode was the Screamin' Demon (and first backwards). We always took a break in the late afternoon to catch a show. -
The Bat has one? Don't ever remember that coaster having an on ride photo...

A love letter to the best roller coaster in the world

Or how about a Haunted House in West Virginia that should by all means be considered a coaster? -
And I don't think that KI will invest in this ride any longer. I'm calling it...this ride gets replaced for 2016. Not sure if they will replace it with another themed shoot 'em up or not, but I feel like something is going in there for 2016. Don't have any insider information, just an educated guess.

Good article. Sums up The Beast nicely. Sorry, but in my heart it will always be the best. -

My first memories that stand out were how everything was so large, how you could see the Eiffel Tower first coming in. Towards the end of our 3 hour trek to KI, all three of us kids would begn looking for the Eiffel Tower because we knew we had finally arrived. Then, we would get through the front gate, and I would just admire how nice the fountains were as we made our way to LaRosa's for lunch before we started our day. -
Terp, we must be getting a mustang ride by your comments. However, I would like to see a new ride go into the old Phantom Theatre building and take out Boo Blasters.

I love that I get to share these rides with my son now and honestly, I forgot how fun the old flat rides can be. We went to Camden Park and I just love the Whip, the Tilt-A-Whirl, the Scrambler, The Paratrooper, The Little Dipper, The Big Dipper, and The Camden Princess. I showed him how to get the cars spinning on the Tilt-A-Whirl faster. We had a fun round of miniature golf as well. We ate pizza, had a frozen lemonade, and I took him to the Sugar Shop. I was totally surprised that he only wanted to buy one thing in there. I figured I would go broke there.

Wow, that ride looks crazy good! KI needs one of these for sure.

I agree with some sentiments expressed here. I've been on other message boards with people complaining about Millennium Force being boring. I still like it and if they find it boring, hopefully they won't be in line, making it shorter for me. I say do what you like because life is too short to worry about what others think. Kinda like movies. I don't pay any attention to reviews. If I think it will be interesting, I'll go find out for myself.

Signed, Sealed, and Delivered!

By far BSLC is not my favorite coaster, but it does serve a niche at Kings Island. I think you need some intermediate ones like The Racer, BSLC for the kids who aren't quite ready for the larger, more intimidating coasters. I like the direction that CF has taken with the chain as a whole, overall. -
The only SLC I rode was Thunderhawk at Geauga Lake and later relocated to MiA. I never thought it was a rough or uncomfortable ride.
-
Most coasters I find that I enjoy the back seat most. Sometimes, I do enjoy a front row seat. Inverted coasters, front row for sure.
-
Well, not surprising considering that the management is a mess
-
I thought Camden had a winged coaster...oh never mind, they just had one that flew off the track! Just joking
-
Not sure what you could replace it with either. That space is very limited. I want to see Racer stay as it was the one that terrified me to the point that my mother had to bribe me to ride it.

I agree with the other people here. Do yourself a favor and keep it to yourself. Be the better man. We all know what a piece of work that guy is. There are many times in life when I wanted to get back at others. There are times that I have and nothing good or positive ever came of it. I can tell you that now, the life that I am trying to live as a good Christian man, I take the high road way more often than not. It pays off in that I have far less drama in my life.

To answer your question Shark, yes. Ed Hart is that unscrupulous.
