  1. Don't go there on the whole have slurs said to you. Some folks on coasterbuzz thinks it's ok to use slurs as long as it's in character and in the right context. It's expected behavior because HHN is well known for it and therefore, in the context of said haunt, perfectly acceptable.
  2. Thanks for posting that vid. Looks like the kids are having a blast on that ride.
  3. Is there a better rendering of what the Snoopy's Space buggies will be like? I went to the KI web site and it gives a small pic that is an artists' rendering.
  4. We were talking about last new stand up coaster installation, which was 1999's Georgia Scorcher. So, no new stand ups in 15 years. Re-location is something entirely different.
  5. I get it KIFan, you want a stand up. The other point I made wasn't that every one of the parks that have stand ups also have a floorless. I was saying that some do. I wouldn't expect a stand up from any manufacturer. Homestar92, that was hilarious!
  6. Face it man, stand ups are done. Nobody has said that they are just going to automatically start converting all stand ups to floorless. You have to consider that some of these parks that have stand ups also have floorless, so there would be no need for a conversion. Now, it's just time to wait for them to get to the end of their useful life. Standing up on a coaster was a novelty and it's just not an interesting concept. You can't really compare the time between last invert installed and last stand up installed because you are talking about 2 very different reasons. Most parks that wanted inverts had them, so no new installations for a while. On the other hand, no stand ups are being installed because the re-rideability sucks quite frankly. Inverts aren't losing popularity. Stand ups are.
  7. I would say that with the recent conversion of Mantis to Rougarou, the stand ups are going to be but a memory once their lifespan is over. And the harness was only part of the problem. Most men didn't like the little seat that fit between your legs, for obvious reasons. More than likely, you would see a floorless installed before a stand up.
  8. I don't think that they will remove the trim brake on the first drop. If anything, it will just be turned off as it would be easier to do that then remove only to find out it is still needed.
  9. Shaggy made the correct call. He said look for a B&M invert as the next major coaster. Psychic? So Shaggy, wherever you are, what's the next coaster? The title should have said "When", not if.
  10. Maybe my prediction of bulldozers may come true after all...if Mr. Hart continues with these antics. Who will want to visit knowing he has anything to do with KK? In answer to your question, Terp, you would probably rather be in the unemployment line than either of those two.
  11. I get the strategy. If we sue enough people and win, then we'll have some REAL operating cash. Hello new coaster.
  12. I was just reading under the words that describe Back Yard Ball. Words that caught my eye are outdoor, sports, competitions, tournaments. Possibly a basketball tournament. 3 on 3?
  13. Run and Ride looks like some kind of awareness or fund raising event possibly. Voyage to the Iron Reef could be a ride (not sure what) with souvenirs to go with it.
  14. It would help me avoid gassing up on the way back.
  15. This is a great trip report. I saw the thread title and I was like, what? I thought maybe there is a Chuck E. Cheese near KI or something and he went there before heading over to KI, which is insane considering KI has La Rosa's. One thing that concerned me. Where are all the ride ops? Chuck cares nothing for rider safety. At least have an automated spiel. And no height requirement signs either? What's with that mouse?
  16. Yes, that would be the one. I only remember riding this huge ferris wheel, which terrifies me still. I can handle 400ft coasters, but get me on a dropping ride, ferris wheel, or skyline and I freeze up.
  17. Very good points KI Guy. I myself have only been to four amusement parks. 3 large scale: Kings Island, Cedar Point, Geauga Lake. 1 small scale: Camden Park. All of those are what I call local to me. Although, now I think about it, I went a very few times to the old Myrtle Beach Pavilion when vacationing with my family there and one other park down that way that I can't remember the name of. It may still be there.
  18. SF overexpansion lead to its' demise, ruin, however you want to word it. And there's no saying that current management would have been interested in downsizing it either. I can't imagine that locals would be too excited over that either. Instead of protesting or save Geauga Lake campaigns, you would be having discussions more like Michigan's Adventure, where people would say how they were screwed by removing a majority of their rides which would later turn in to a gripe fest about how they never install anything at GL.
  19. Where's John Conner when you need him? Great pic Thrill Biscuit!
  20. And Conneaut Lake is in the midst of a comeback is what I heard. I liked Geauga Lake. But, I can see where SF basically ruined that park. Pretty much, when it was acquired, it was destined to be closed down.
  21. Or, maybe they are working courtesy of Skynet?
  22. Awesome pic! Would love to see some more shots of Ki, exclusively brought to you by Drone, Inc.
  23. I've heard parking garages mentioned before. Anyone think that may be a viable idea?
  24. I prefer the back row on Vortex. I love the way you get whipped around the loops and over the first drop.
