I'm really liking the Banshee logo, which I voted for. The Beast would be a close second.

I'm looking forward to the next Star Wars movie and being able to take my son to see it on the big screen. By the time it's released, he will be the same age I was when A New Hope opened in theatres. I have nothing but confidence in Disney treating the SW franchise with respect. The only thing strange to me will be seeing the Disney logo in the beginning as opposed to Fox Studios which the previous six movies ran through. I agree with RailRider that a movie franchise like SW is something that people will enjoy and identify with for years to come, so this is a smart move by Disney. They now have rights to one of the hottest movie franchises of all time.

WCPO: Woman asked to upgrade son's Jr Season Pass mid season
KIBeast replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I can understand both sides of this. But truthfully, in the grand scheme of things, it just seems really unimportant to me. I guess that I have just learned to deal with things differently in my life in the last year with where I have been. And I won't discuss where I've been in the last 1 1/2 years unless you are interested enough to PM me. It would be a discussion that we don't have here on the boards, -
Worst Rides to "Pop The Question" On

For some reason, this article convinces me that the next time I get married, I need to choose one of these rides to do it on! -
Camden Park, 1995
KIBeast replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Great video, Interpreter. I am going to Camden in a couple of weeks with my son. It should be fun. I've been disappointed with their bathrooms for decades. They smell terrible and doesn't appear to be cleaned on a regular basis. I would like to see some investor(s) help out the family and get Camden back on track. I enjoyed the Spider, but from what I understand, they didn't even have a maintenance manual for it. All they had were some notes that the maintenance crew had written down in order to service the ride. I would like to try out their miniature golf course and see if it's any good. It looks decent. I also wish the previous owners would have taken care of the Thunderbolt Express. It was a great coaster addition for that park. I highly doubt a new coaster is ever coming there again. Although, I would like to see a small coaster installation there. Something along the lines of Wild Cat that used to reside at Cedar Point. -
Eiffel Tower Construction
KIBeast replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Great video, Ryan. When I was a kid, the route that we took to get to KI, the tower was the first thing that we would see. And after a 3 hour trip to get there, it was the first thing I saw that made it official in my mind that we had arrived at KI. Don't know if this is true or not, but I have heard that the Eiffel Tower in Paris is so large that the one at KI could fit underneath of it. -
And here I thought The Bat was flying again. Anyway, having ridden the original Bat, I'm glad the name came back. I would like to have seen the old style cars come back with the actual bats on them. However, it's nice that the coaster was painted and re-named. I didn't like the Flight Deck name. Now, they just need to re-name the old Back Lot Stunt Coaster into something cool. Not sure what they could change it to though. I have a question. The coaster called "The Demon" I had always heard as The Screamin' Demon. Was it ever called that? And if so, when did that change?

I wouldn't mind seeing a ride like Skyhawk at Cedar Point installed. Not really up to date on what else they could install that's not a coaster.

Cedar Point 2015 speculation
KIBeast replied to jcgoble3's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Whatever it is, I'm sure of one thing...I don't know what it is, what it's name will be, or where it will be located. There's your TRUE insider information. You heard it here first folks. -
Man, talk about bringing back memories. Used to love Enchanted Voyage and then its' conversion to Smurfs' Enchanted Voyage. It was a great ride to cool off. Nice item to pick up.

Myself, I just like to purchase the on-ride photos, although I can see where they want to make videos available. Anything that can help the bottom line can't be all bad. (Spoken like a true accountant)

I've only been on Shake, Rattle, & Roll a few times. When I first started going to KI as an adult, I went simply to power ride all of the coasters. One trip, I decided to ride other rides and was pleasantly surprised at how thrilling this ride is. Hopefully, it will be around for a while. If not, I had some good rides on it. On a side note, two years ago, I took my son, who had just turned 4 to Camden Park. We rode the Scrambler, the Whip, Big Dipper, the Train (Halloween time) and the Haunted House. I had really forgotten how other rides can be loads of fun, especially when sharing the experience with your kid. I'm not sure who's smile was bigger, mine or his.

Terp, I'm sure you are of my generation. The Bat (Original), Hannah Barberra Land, The Scooby Doo roller coaster, Winnie Witches' cauldrons, The Demon, Der Spinnin' Keggers, The Bayern Curve, The Skyline, I could go on.

I prefer Coke over Pepsi, so I wish the entire chain would change.

Gatekeeper is going to be a great addition. According to what I have heard, these wing riders don't have much of a problem with downtime. I won't miss DT or SS. DT was boring and I never rode SS because it looked uninteresting.

On IJ:ST, there was supposed to be bumping that simulated the mini coopers going down stairs that never happened. It was in a tunnel and the bumping was to be simulated by the cars and not by the track itself.

I'll take Rainbow Chaser for $15,000, Mr. Trebek. http://www.rides4u.com/rides/used/category/14/name/ASC/25/1 #16 from the top Back on topic, I've heard that these were maintenance nightmares. -
Don't care what the name will be as long as it's a giga. Haven't experienced a B&M giga, but I have been on Millenium and I love that one. If the B&M's are as good as what folks are saying, then I'm all for it. I like what Shaggy posted, but I was figuring that they would utilize the old SOB spot considerably more...I had heard an old rumor that the folks at KI don't want to place anything in there that at least "appears" to be larger than the Eiffel Tower. Then again, that may have changed by now. Was that some of the reason that SOB was built where it was and the way it was? Meaning, it appeared to be lower than the tower from the interstate.

Wouldn't they be "Great Value" coasters if they were Wal Mart branded?

I was just wondering the same thing myself about the banking. Now my question is, how long did it take Arrow to figure out to bank the turns and what was the first "successful" suspended with banking? I got to ride The Bat...it was indeed a wild ride and was insanely swinging back and forth. The trains were the coolest thing I'd ever seen at the time and I still think so to this day.

I thoroughly enjoyed Dominatrix at Geauga Lake myself. Had some high speeds on that one, plus the interlocking corkscrews was always cool.

Camden Park: Rattler
KIBeast replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Goofy rumor that started with Magnum XL200 and was somehow transferred to The Vortex. I believe the rumor about Magnum was an April Fool's joke ran wild by the enthusiast communty. -
Camden Park: Rattler
KIBeast replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I was told by the managers that the another main reason for no Wal-Mart at Camden's location is the problem with the flooding. Rattler looks really cool though. -
I can't see Racers going anywhere. There's not too much you could do with that area, I'm thinking.

I rode SOB several times in its' original form. I remember one season, my brother and I went and rode it. When we came back to the station, there was no line, so usually when that is the case, you can re-ride without going through the line again. The ride ops would not allow us to do this. I think that speaks volumes for that coaster. My assumption is that the ride ops were told not to allow anyone to re-ride. Did anyone else have this kind of experience with SOB ride ops? My wife never got to ride SOB with the loop and she was only moderately impressed with the ride. I tried to explain to her how much cooler the experience was with the loop in. She agreed it probably would have been cooler, but she didn't convince me that she would have loved it that much more.
