And, wasn't there a 3 dimensional plane coming out of the sign behind Top Gun?
-
Actually, there was someone on Pointbuzz that was in the same field making the same arguement about footings. I think, more likely it is footings that is the proper term if involved in that field. However, the coaster community widely accepts the term footer just the same. Personally, I could care less. And, you are right that there are many "experts" on Pointbuzz.
-
Yeah, I don't want to touch the arguement of footers or footings...already seen an arguement about this over at pointbuzz. The conclusion they came to was...either is acceptable and no one is going to back down. Anyway, I think Delorean Rider's response makes pretty good sense about keeping parts near The Beast instead of treking all the way to another section.

I'm sorry, but I love to drive go carts. Can't explain why...I just do. However, even though I've never been on Days of Thunder, it looks like a pretty crappy excuse for a cart track. It should have been made more interesting. Although I know it's themed to a movie basded on Nascar racing, which is just speeding in circles...yawn.

Wow! That's deep! And what about the other poor ex-Paramount Parks? Are they not good enough for a relocated coaster? Like Carowinds or Great America? Maybe they'll receive some more of GL's used coasters after next season.

Super Saturator at Carowinds To Go Dry
KIBeast replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I have no valid source for this rumor, but I remember reading somewhere that this coaster may wind up at Geauga Lake. Considering it's capacity and GL's attendance numbers, this might be a good fit for them. -

Here's to hoping that this park gets built. -
Cedar Fair Reports Attendance & Revenues Through Labor Day
KIBeast replied to Skywriter's topic in Kings Island
^Couldn't have said it better myslef. All of those things you say are true. We were complaining about these high prices and poor food service well before CF entered the picture. I grow tired of hearing all of the negativity towards CF. They have definitely not had enough time to mold the old "Paramount" parks to their specifications. Look at Geauga Lake...CF has owned it for a little longer and that park is still not where they want it to be. Rome was not built in a day. -
Halloween Will Be Scariest Ever, Park Officials Warn
KIBeast replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
So true, FOF. My favorite quote: “You name it, they'll be coming after you with chain saws, hacksaws, knives (and) axes,” Helbig said. I was scared quite a few times last year. Let's see if they can kick it up a notch or two this year. -
I thought Steel Venom moving to Dorney Park was common knowledge.

I think KI has enough wood coasters already. The coaster firsts for KI are: The Bat - first suspended coaster The Vortex - first multi-looper to do six inversions Runaway Reptar - first junior inverted coaster Don't know if there are more firsts.

I was about to say the same thing Boddah. I'd like to see an Intamin hyper.

New for Holiday World in 2008
KIBeast replied to Browntggrr's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
^Really? Voyage sucks? I kinda find that hard to believe as I haven't heard one bad review. Whatever they do, I'm sure it will be a good addition. As far as them saying that they have a pretty good idea of what they are adding next year..all I can say is no kidding. Usually amusement parks have five year plans is what I understand. Now, since this is not a chain, it could be different. -
Cyclone Rider's Killer Thriller
KIBeast replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
That is truly sad, regardless of whether or not the cyclone did this to him. I pray for the family. -
Thanks, I'll have to check it out. I am an amateur magician and I love to watch others perform. I haven't been to KI this year, so, where is the Dora theater?
-
Actually, it was not the entire band Twisted Sister that took umbrage at the name. It was just the guitar player, JJ Finch, whom owns all the rights to the Twisted Sister name. Coincidentally, he produced a couple of albums for my favorite band...Sevendust.

Actually, FOF1996, Dragster has been running consistently for the last 2-3 years.

^Sounds like a themed S&S tower to me. -
^Yeah, I heard that crazy rumor over at Pointbuzz. Of all the wacky ideas.

Rumor About Kings Dominion
KIBeast replied to AdventureExpresser's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
And, the other rumor is that Thunderhawk is being moved to Michigan's Adventure. This would be a good move to take Dominator from GL and move it to KD. I don't see any other coasters being moved to KI since we already have Firehawk. -
Yeah, but I think Maverick is going to be the new mindset for Cedar Fair. They don't have the $$$$ to build record breakers any more. And with Maverick, it has been accepted by the GP pretty well and it doesn't break any kind of record.
-
Oh, believe me folks. This is going to happen. It's going to be cheap to move it as well. Why? They only are removing the track which will later be welded to the Eiffel Tower... Then, Dragster's tower will have a restaurant added to the top to make it the world's first strata restaurant. By the way, did I mention that I am dating Beyonce'?
-
^I was gonna say just that. Where in the world does anyone get the KI hates B&M or Intamin? Oh, because one hasn't been built there before. Well, guess what? Like Ronny said, CF now owns KI and it'a whole new ballgame. I wouldn't be surprised to see a B&M and Intamin added in the next 5-10 years.

I have way too many questions about a wood inverter. First, how would the track be laid upside down? It's not like steel rails at all. Next, how would you make inverted cars for said track? Maybe if I was on something it would make sense. Anyway, my choice(s) would be to bring back a lot of the classic flats like a Tilt-A-Whirl, Rotor. The Jump 2 looks interesting. I'm not really sure what is left that is non-coaster that would fit in Nick Central. I'd also like to see a ride like Skyhawk at Cedar Point.
