  1. A giga coaster has a drop of 300ft. Although I would love to see one at KI, I am doubting this rumor. From what I have read and know, Millennium Force was 25 million to build and steel has gone up in price since then. Not to mention CF doesn't exactly have a lot of money to throw around.
  2. ^Not to mention, why?
  3. There is no false advertising here. False advertisement is not as simple as we said one thing, then did another. You have to prove that there was malicious intent (like trying to purposely mislead you) involved in the process. Sorry, but the whole "false advertisement" thing really gets on my nerves. Way too many people are convinced they were victims of false advertisement at some point or another. It's what they don't know about it that proves them wrong. People, don't be so hard on Ryan. Neither he, nor CF, nor KI are trying to jerk you around. Sometimes, it's a simple matter of wording or misinterpretation (Interpreter, you can chime in if you like )of their policies.
  4. I think there should be at least two, if not three. Two used to point at I-Street and Coney Mall, and of course, the obvious construction cam.
  5. ^Sounds interesting. I mean, the shopping cart thing.
  6. The Saturday I went, I noticed an awful lot of younger kids too. But, it's not up to KI to parent them. All they can do is put up signs. The rest is up to the parents' judgement...good or bad.
  7. ^I hadn't heard that. Not saying you are wrong. I just hadn't heard any info. on how it has been running this season. If so, that's good news.
  8. ^Nothing unusual about that.
  9. They did, but were severely beaten by some Italian mafia mosquitoes.
  10. Now this, I can believe!
  11. Why in the world would anyone leave their cell phone in a bin? You are asking to have it stolen. Just take it with you and allow one of the coasters to eat it. Seriously, lockers anyone? When I took a digital cam to CP, my wife (fiance' at the time) suggested we leave it in a bin to ride. I gave her the strangest look, explained with a hundred reasons not to, then walked back to our hotel room to put it away.
  12. I think that was a great PR move. Bring in NBA players to hang with the regular folks while doing the 3 point shoot game. Wonder how they liked the rides?
  13. The only reason I think the one at SFMM will not be coming down is for some reason, they have a problem removing coasters that aren't working. How long has it been for Flashback now? Of course, they still use FB in their coaster count, which is bogus considering how long it's been SBNO.
  14. Sorry I didn't understand what you were getting at. It's also a fact that OTSR's are not necessary for any coaster with inversions. FOF is a perfect example and as you said, the old SOB trains. I think the OTSR's just make people "feel" safer.
  15. My brother witnessed DD break down. He said maintenance guys came in with a really huge wrench. He said the wrench was so large, it almost looked cartoonish. Maybe it was Mario and Luigi?

    eek! Top gun!

^You're talking one instance. Not to mention, in an overall operating season, a few days downtime does not a bad coaster make.
  17. The rumor of selling the parks is not just amongst employees. I saw this months ago on here, Coasterbuzz, and maybe even Pointbuzz. From what I have read, if everything goes as planned, the PP aquisition will be leveled out by 2012.

In the case of the Eagles, Paramount decided to move them to make room for IJ:ST even though it was proven unnecessary. PT bit it because that location has been several attractions over the years and it was time to give the place a new facelift not to mention I didn't see that great of ridership in the last two years or so. Let's not forget that Paramount was responsible for both.
  19. I've heard many people say they think Toomer was just lazy when it came to design and all. Know how he thought of using a loop? By bending a wire coat hanger.
  20. If you really want to see some swaying, watch an impulse coaster in action. And yes, the loop on TT is larger, but that was the only one and the last one. It took them how many years to figure that one out?
  21. ^That's one thing I can't understand. How come B&M doesn't do like two loops in a row or two corkscrews in a row or any two elements in a row? Way off track, but, how come Arrow never made large loops, but, rather used the same size loops, just higher off the ground?
  22. Not having rode it myself this past season, I was under the impression that Villain had greatly improved with the re-tracking and the removal of trick track.
  23. What about this ride? I think it looks slammin'. 9MJbW4_r9Is
  24. Yes, CF was darned if they do, darned if they don't. Many people were somewhat agreeing with the sentiment that the park had too many rides and coasters. CF started to downsize last season. Many people moaned and complained about removing two coasters when in the same breath, they were stating how GL was over-developed. Then, they started hearing more complaining when it was rumored that Dominator and Thunderhawk were being removed. Yet, those same people were still claiming that they agreed with what CF was trying to do. But still, they weren't doing the most important thing of all, actually visiting GL. Nor were they spreading the "good word" about the park either.
  25. I don't think KI needs another wood coaster. My choice would be steel hyper, inverted, or floorless.
