  1. ^ I noticed that as well. It's no wonder I could never build a suspended coaster without breaking people's necks on RCT.

    2008 Coaster?

I didn't say you were complaining. I wouldn't be cutting down on any parks' rides that I've never personally been on. Case Example: I had heard many complaints about Thunderhawk at Geauga Lake. Many people were calling it a hang-n-bang. After CF acquired GL, I decided to make a trek up there (but not based on who owned it). I rode Thunderhawk about 5-6 times over 2 days and I thought it was a pretty intense and smooth ride. I could have just made the assumption that it was very rough and not ride it at all, but I wanted to see for myself.
  3. But, that was not figured to be a problem in the design process or they would have banked them in the first place. Hindsight is 20/20.
  4. What makes KI more family oriented than CP? Well, for starters, there's Nick Universe. #1 kids area for years. CP has nothing that even comes remotely close. I don't think that their new Planet Snoopy will even come that close to NU. Not to mention, KI has more coasters that the whole family can enjoy. Sure, Kinzel may put a little more thrill into the parks, but the fact that CP is now changing their focus more towards families after seeing KI is a hint that their not going to change KI into CP II.
  5. IMO, the two parks that could get cut under the CF chain would be Great America & Carowinds.
  6. Can we say, too little, too late? It's nice that they are raising the wall, but it seems that is something that should have been done long ago.

    2008 Coaster?

I think he means stop trying to be the resident expert on things that you know nothing about, Jackson PKI. I don't complain about Six Flags because I have never been to any of their parks. Now, I have read trip reports here and at Coasterbuzz and it seems to me that whatever problems they had with maintaining their rides is becoming a thing of the past.
  8. I am also doubting that CF has any plans to change KI from a theme park. They want CP and KI to have two separate identities. CP is for the coaster lovers and KI is the family oriented park. To change either one would be a mistake. Granted, CP may get some more famiy oriented rides to accomodate more of the GP, but they will always be the Coaster Mecca of Ohio. And KI may get a nice, thrilling coaster on ocassion, but they are clearly the leader when it comes to family attractions.
  9. ^Every coaster will be replaced, eventually. Screamin' Demon was my first looper and first backwards ride. A lot of fun, but not fun walking up the tower. It is a shame about what the former owners of Camden Park did to the Thunderbolt Express. Fortunately, the new/old owners are back and Camden is better than it has been in decades. The Bat was superior to Top Gun. The course was much more interesting.
  10. Looks like this could turn out to be a really cool idea. I loved the monorail when I was a kid. It was the next best air conditioned ride next to Enchanted Voyage.
  11. Son of Beast hot sauce? I guess it beats up your insides.
  12. Excuse me? Where oh where did I state that no one goes to 49ers games but they go to Bengals games? Also note the winking smilie after I said no one goes to niners games. On the internet, that means you are kidding since it seems you didn't know.
  13. And, in the grand scheme of things, what does beating the Bengals in prime time mean for the 49ers? Not a thing. They still are a horrible team with no playoff hopes what so ever. Plus, the Bengals are pretty sorry this year too. Not to mention that I don't really care considering that I am an Eagles fan.

    2008 Coaster?

OK, I'll bite. Who has dibs on The Villain?
  15. No one goes to 49ers games anyway, Terp! CF has every right to complain.
  16. I'd say the wall is a big issue at this point. Conisdering that one of the above links to an article states that a tiger on its' hind legs stand about 11 1/2' tall. Wouldn't take much effort to get over that 12' wall.
  17. I get free work clothes, the only thing I've bought are my boots. Every company I have worked has provided atleast 2 free uniform shirts and you had the option of buying your own pants or company sold ones, your personal ones had to be within uniform parameters though. This year Cedar Fair I'm sure made a killing charging KI workers for their uniform shirts, and uniform shorts then not having the correct amount of sizes in or distributing the wrong ones. Failed to turn in your shorts when you left....that came out of your pay check too. KI needs an HR department and uniform overhaul park wide. Wow, Gordon, that really sucks for the KI employees! That's pretty ruthless to charge your barely minimum-wage earnings workers for uniforms.
  18. ^Exactly! I get a clothing allowance from work every six months. If you're a company and going to force people to wear certain uniform, then you should pay for it. Reason being, if the company requires a nice white button down shirt and black slacks, you don't necessarily have to go to Macy's to buy your clothes. They could be bought at Value City as well and you'd pay less. Company uniforms have one price and you'd either pay it or not work.
  19. Nobody...especially since it will be called Back Lot: Stunt Coaster.
  20. From what I saw this morning on the Today Show, someone who works for the Zoo has stated that their walls for the tiger exhibit are something like four feet smaller than recommended. Seems to me that fatality + insufficient walls = lawsuit for the zoo. Not saying whether or not the families should sue, but we all know it will be coming soon unless somehow any of the victims were involved in the tiger's escape.
  21. I thought the rumor about the trains being used on either Beast or Racers had already been shot down? I thought I read somewhere that they are simply being stored at KI and not going to be used on any coaster at KI. Besides that, I would think if Interpreter says it ain't happening, then it ain't crappenin'.
  22. That would certainly be interesting if the rumor turns out to be true. I have never heard that one. The way it is now, I can't imagine it being much longer as it is a pretty long ride as is.
  23. Ooooh, I wouldn't say Mantis is more painful than FOF with the OTSR's, but, that's your opinion Gordon and I can respect that. Comparatively now, though, I would take FOF over Mantis any day. I've never had a problem with my legs hurting from Mantis, so I cannot relate.
  24. Leonard, Don't apologize. I was not aware of all of the inside things that go on about haunts, setting them up, the no 90 degree angles and everything else. It was very insightful. The one thing I won't do is comment on the banter between you and Hauntguy. I don't know enough myself to even judge the situation. From what you have said, the awards given out seem to be very similar to another golden type award that is given to parks every year. If this is true, then they are as big a farce as the GT awards. Believe me, I've been in a few "disagreements" with some folks here and I know how you feel about defending yourself. The only problem is (and I don't think it's the case here) that you both wind up looking silly most of the time. I hope you stick around as this is the GREATEST KI community anywhere! The mods are great and some are even distant friends of mine.
  25. I love how it's been decided that it's a boring coaster before even one person has been on it. Try riding it first, then I'll take your opinions a little more seriously.
