SFGAd Dark Knight Construction Gallery!
KIBeast replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I'm just saying that other coaster sites I go to, footers is an acceptable term. Why it has to be a huge issue here is WAY beyone me. -
SFGAd Dark Knight Construction Gallery!

Footers, footings, who really cares (other than engineering students) as long as everyone knows what is being talked about? -
"Nobody was in any danger. It's most unfortunate that it occurred obviously and we're very sorry that it's interrupted people's enjoyment of the park.'' How can they say that if they thought an anti-roll back device may have failed? That could have easily sent a train backwards into another depending on where that anti-roll back was located. Or, even possibly into the station.

Yeah, but who could be Dane?

I would say it is advertisement could be for both ride and movie. People may ride F/O, see the poster and think, maybe they'll rent it some time. It did have two huge actors in it after all.

This would be the most intelligent post I've read so far. Who REALLY cares about the names anyways? It won't change a thing. I hear a lot of people complaining about the name changes and have read some of their own suggestions...from what I have read, I'd rather go with what CF re-named these rides.

Maybe because Congo Falls doesn't directly refer to the movie Congo. Congo is not only a movie, but it's a place! Most people do not realize that Congo was a movie. same with drop zone. i didn't know that was a paramount movie until it was pointed out to me in an earlier forum Don't waste your money on that one. It stars Gary Busey and Wesley Snipes (which I like most movies he's in), but it stinks.

Coasters With Inversions
KIBeast replied to JacksonPKI's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Looks like a very boring coaster. Maybe even nauseating. -
Can't agree with Rick on this one. The last thing CP needs to do is raise their drink and food prices. They are already outrageous as it is. I think raising those prices could price themselves right out of the market considering that it seems that this country is heading for a recession. People can't afford to go there now, what would make them think that the GP is going to want to pay more when they are already getting tight with money?

I remember hearing that rumor about The Bat way back in the late 80's. Never heard this one about The Vortex. Although, I know for a fact neither one is true.

Look Here in our own forums. Gordon Bombay took some new pics.

KI already has a Frog Hopper type of ride...Plankton's Plunge.

In your opinion the hyper coasters don't resemble wooden coasters. That's not to say that they do or don't. That was just a little info. I heard years ago. And of course, each design is going to be unique in some way. By your logic then, all wood out and back coasters would have to be exactly the same. And, we all know that they don't have to be clones of each other to basically be doing the same thing.
-
Magnum would be the best example of this. Theoretically, yes. Realistically, no. Not all steel coasters without inversions have an out-n-back type layout. But, that is where the design came from. Most hypers have the out-n-back basic design. Other examples; Behemoth, Nitro, Apollo's Chariot, Magnum XL200, Steel Dragon 2000, Goliath, Titan, Steel Force, Fujiyama. I'm sure there's a few more, just can't remember all of them. Steel coasters without inversions not modeled after out-n-backs; Phantom's Revenge(although originally a looper), Flashback (SFMM), or even Backlot: Stunt Coaster.

Geauga Lake Sells All Their Rides...
KIBeast replied to FOFirehawkFAN's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
There is also the rumor that headspin may head to Kings Dominion to replace Hypersonic XLC for 2009. -
Hm thats funny. I could have swore they each had their own unique deisgn. Mind showing us which 200 foot and 300 foot wood coasters they were designed after? I'm sorry. Where did I say that they matched wood coasters height? Nowhere. The basic model of a large first hill followed by air time hills. They're modeled after out and back coasters.

There's no IF about it. It was the one from Geauga lake. -

Why would they state it's used? -
^ I agree Tigger. This is not the only message board where I hear enthusiasts comparing CF to SF, and I think CF seems to have had a plan in mind whiles SF surely didn't look like they had any plan at all. What SF was counting on was that coaster installation after coaster installation was the magic cure all for their attendance. Never mind the poor customer service, the rides that stood SBNO for years, and the general uncleanliness of the parks. The two chains really don't mirror each other in the least, as far as I'm concerned. CF still needs to improve their customer servie and get a hold of their outrageous food prices. So, they are not perfect, but it appears that they strive for perfection when SF strives for mediocrity.

I kinda cheated though. He is a friend on myspace and it reminded me yesterday that it would be his birthday today. So, I sent him a message there and then last night, here. Again, Happy Birthday!

I thought the same thing too, Tggr. I think it's about time Dick Kinzel retired.
