  1. So this is a forum full of idiots... Now how did you come up with that? According to you, everyone who talks here doesnt know what theire talking about. He never said anything like that. What that phrase means is that people in the know don't talk about what they know. People who don't know what they are talking about ususally have a lot to say.
  2. And, apparently, Cedar Fair, who operates an entire chain of parks knows less than an ops guy who works on Tomb Raider.
  3. I was never confused about your sarcasm. But, your point was CF turned off the water effects due to rusting of TR:TR. At the same time, I'm telling you that Paramount turned off the water effects on AE due to rusting. And you think turning off the water effects is a bad idea and only an idea that came from CF...no? I'm not a connoisseur of top spins, but I sure as hell know when a ride is boring or not. Maverick's theming is static, therefore the only thing that could go downhill would be loss of color of painted canyons due to the sun. There isn't much of any theming.
  4. But, .25 cotton candy is possible. Is there .25 cotton candy at KI? I haven't been this year. I know they had it last year at Geuage Lake. If KI does, where is that particular stand located. Sorry to derail the topic. Back on topic, I am so excited about Fearfest this year! Anyone know when we can expect to see commercials?
  5. So, Deloreon Rider, by your estimates about water effects and covering everything with tents, Paramount should have enclosed Adventure Express since it was Paramount that turned off the misting effect on that coaster. See, it's not such a dumb idea afterall. Maverick's theming is far better than Tomb Raider: The Embarassment Not to mention that TR:TR is a horrible excuse for a top spin, giant or not.
  6. Wasn't The Beast also built in-house? I really can't remember.
  7. I would guess that it was my parents that heard about Kings Island. I was really young when it opened and we started going. I think I found this site linked from another KI site that is no longer in existence. It wasn't PKIUnlimited, although I was a member there too. Can't remember the name.
  8. Are you sure about slow moving lines for Impulse coasters? Wicked Twister at Cedar Point never has more than a fifteen minute wait and I'm always amazed at how quickly the line moves.
  9. ^ We generally call those people "coaster credit whores". Although, it seems like FOF was a new ride when they switched the trains from OSTR's to lap bars.
  10. In 1987 when Vortex was new my Mom and I waited about 20-25 min. I guess we got lucky. I think the longest I ever waited was when The Bat opened. The line was backed up all the way past where The Happy Days Diner is now. I believe that there was a"whack-a Bat" game there between shake -rattle and roll and the Happy days diner, but I don't remember what food place was there in 1981. Of course it wasn't the happy days diner then. Does anyone remember what food place was there? And does anyone remember the "Whack-a-bat??? When The Bat didn't work out they had the game whack-a-mole. I didn't understand where the bats went, of course I was 8 or 9 what did I know. The Bat died off and so did my whack-a bat. I thought the bats were cute and I loved the design on the trains of The Bat, because I loved bats. I think I was an odd child!!! LOL!!! I still love bats. Back to the subject at hand, I think my family and I waited maybe 3 hours for The Bat. So that was my longest wait, I think. I always wanted a bat as a pet after I saw a kid on David Letterman with one. He was really cute and pretty friendly. (The Bat, not the kid)
  11. I just had to re-post this quote. Thought it was pretty funny. Not true, but funny.
  12. He has also been know to work the lemon chill stand from time to time...
  13. Too true, tggr, that the name has never really been appropriate. They only share the helices in common. SOB needs a tunnel. How about Son Of Pain?
  14. Sometimes the spinning mechanism on DZ doesn't work. It doesn't affect the public being able to ride. I tried to get a re-ride on Son of Beast one time (before CF) and they would not let me. They told me that I had to walk around and get back in line, which there was none.
  15. I have also heard that there is plenty of land over by the new Firehawk area. I really have no idea.
  16. I saw a kid throw up at Cedar Point after riding Millennium Force. Actually, he threw up on the ride, then threw up on the stairs on his way down. I figured a looping coaster would make people throw up before a ride like MF.
  17. I could marathon SOB for people with brian/head injuries...then join them afterwards.
  18. Compared to which other giant top spin? I wasn't comparing it to another giant top spin. I guess I should have said any top spin.
  19. I always wanted to try to marathon Son of Beast.
  20. It was a lot more than discussion. Did you not click the links to the pics? Plus, did you not see the pic posted by Delorean Rider? It's a pic I saw over at Coasterbuzz first.
  21. Here is the Keel Boat. Here is the Log Flume
  22. I'm quite sure that those lines were in fact that long back in the day. And, back then, I didn't ask anyone how long the line was, it really took that long.
  23. OK, maybe I over-simplified. I'm sure that they looked into every detail of obtaining the parks and felt that there was more chance of success than failure. There's a lot of other things they considered. Executive A: Let's buy Paramount Parks! Executive B: No way, we could buy the whole SF chain for that!
  24. There is a discussion going on over at Coasterbuzz. Plenty of evidence of a coaster going in Canada.
  25. I can remember when The Racers opened, the wait was 2-3 hours. The Beast, in the early years, was like 4-6 hours. The Vortex was about 3-5 hours.
