what is the new ride for next season?
KIBeast replied to rollerocasterfreak's topic in Coming Attractions
^No, but Cedar Fair has already stated that they will go ahead with the plans that Paramount had for the park next year. I'm sure it will include improvements like paint, general upkeep. Beyond that is anyone's guess, but I imagine that Paramount was intending to make an addition of some sort. Now, what that addition is, no one knows. I have a feeling it will be a Boomerang Bay addition. I'd like to see one of those master blaster type slides go in. -
Me too! I miss riding Son of Beast. Didn't get one lap this last season.
-
I could see either an Inatmin or B&M coming to Kings Island.
-
Makes sense Interpreter. I didn't know it wasn't a popular ride. I just remember very long lines for it at KI.
-
Hope that answers your quesiton.

I got to ride Flight Commander once. I thought it was pretty cool. What I am wondering is, why couldn't they have done a re-design and made models later that solved the restraint issue. I'm not positive, but I don't think a lot of parks had these. Or, did the stigma ruin that idea?
-
I voted PKI best midway games and best overall park. I voted Cedar Point for stickest coaster.
-
Part of it was rider error in that she was drunk. It was later determined that the seatbelt/restraint was insufficient to hold her in.
-
Thanks for the more direct link, standbyme. I voted for Luke!

^Then neither of you follow the amusement industry very closely then. Screamscape is almost never right. But, if you keep guessing over and over again, eventually you'll get one right. Villain is rough and from what I understand, it had a lot to do with Six Flags not mantaining it very well.

Not trying to be mean, but how does Renegade exactly mean a western theme? Renegade is a very broad word.

New West Virginia Water Park?
KIBeast replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
No kidding. This wouldn't be any closer than KI to me. -
What evidence?

Now you know where to go. And knowing is half the battle...G.I.Joe!

Which says to me that it was a problem in the constructing of SOB, not a flaw in the design, otherwise, they would have sued Werner Stengel's company for poor design.
-
Wooferbear, Kings Island already knows this seeing how they are suing the original contractors. Public knowledge. Otherwise, they'd be suing Werner Stengel. Not to mention Stengel's proven track record.

I don't know about this past year as I didn't get to ride Sonny this year, but, the re-tracking from previous years seemed to me to be an improvement. The Rose Bowl was a lot smoother than it was. If I'm not mistaken, the original company that was building SOB did not finish it and the in-park guys handled it, so I'm not so sure it would make any difference. I'm sure Interpreter could clear this up.

Dang! I always forget Zosobeast and Dane.
-
You are right. We don't know whether or not they went to GR or not. If they did, obviously they didn't believe the problems were severe enough to warrant a closing.
-
If I owned it, it would be destroyed only because all the repairs have done nothing to improve it, which I think something is wrong in the design-only way to fix design is to punt-and start over. I believe quite the contrary. I think that all the re-tracking has done a great deal to improve the roughness of Son of Beast. Many people also believe this as well. There is not a flaw in the design, but in the building of the coaster itself.

Bow down to the Czar! My problem with a lot of the complaints is that they are ridiculous. If you get a splinter in line for The Beast, to them, it's a legitimate reason to complain about the maintenance of The Beast. I see where he supposedly sent PKI a warning about SOB. I saw the complaints too, which may be legit. My question is, why did they choose to report to some unknown guy instead of going to Guest Relations?

You have come to the right place. Welcome to PKICentral! We all love Kings Island and most of its' rides. You will find us bickering from time to time about what is the best ride or will this ride be removed, but never fear, we all pretty much kinda flame each other, all in good humor. We also have a couple of guys, mods and members, who know a lot about the industry and Kings Island specifically. They are Boddah1994, CoastersRZ, Interpreter, CombatStupendous, and I'm sure I left many others out. Also, how could I forget Shaggy?

Normally, I don't buy the bull over at screamscape but, if this is true, it is good news! Huss has announced a new business strategy that will allow the company to continue on under the operations of three legally independent companies. Future rides will be developed by HUSS Park Attractions GmbH (Bremen, Germany), a pure engineering office that will focus on sales, development and project management. HUSS Parts and Services GmbH (Bremen, Germany) will take care of the parts and technical support side of things for the over 750 rides already installed throughout the world. Finally the production, pre-assembly and testing of rides will be done by HUSS Gepgyar Kft in Budapest, Hungry. They plan on not only retaking their lead in the flat ride market but also will discuss a return into the portable ride market as well.

^Just a little tip for ya. I usually write my TR's in Word Perfect and read it over for mistakes in spelling or grammar. Then, I come on-line and post it. I am glad you had a great time at PKI. Next time, add some more details and it should be a better report.
