  1. Now you know where to go. And knowing is half the battle...G.I.Joe!
  2. Which says to me that it was a problem in the constructing of SOB, not a flaw in the design, otherwise, they would have sued Werner Stengel's company for poor design.
  3. Wooferbear, Kings Island already knows this seeing how they are suing the original contractors. Public knowledge. Otherwise, they'd be suing Werner Stengel. Not to mention Stengel's proven track record.
  4. I don't know about this past year as I didn't get to ride Sonny this year, but, the re-tracking from previous years seemed to me to be an improvement. The Rose Bowl was a lot smoother than it was. If I'm not mistaken, the original company that was building SOB did not finish it and the in-park guys handled it, so I'm not so sure it would make any difference. I'm sure Interpreter could clear this up.
  5. Dang! I always forget Zosobeast and Dane.
  6. You are right. We don't know whether or not they went to GR or not. If they did, obviously they didn't believe the problems were severe enough to warrant a closing.
  7. If I owned it, it would be destroyed only because all the repairs have done nothing to improve it, which I think something is wrong in the design-only way to fix design is to punt-and start over. I believe quite the contrary. I think that all the re-tracking has done a great deal to improve the roughness of Son of Beast. Many people also believe this as well. There is not a flaw in the design, but in the building of the coaster itself.
  8. Bow down to the Czar! My problem with a lot of the complaints is that they are ridiculous. If you get a splinter in line for The Beast, to them, it's a legitimate reason to complain about the maintenance of The Beast. I see where he supposedly sent PKI a warning about SOB. I saw the complaints too, which may be legit. My question is, why did they choose to report to some unknown guy instead of going to Guest Relations?
  9. You have come to the right place. Welcome to PKICentral! We all love Kings Island and most of its' rides. You will find us bickering from time to time about what is the best ride or will this ride be removed, but never fear, we all pretty much kinda flame each other, all in good humor. We also have a couple of guys, mods and members, who know a lot about the industry and Kings Island specifically. They are Boddah1994, CoastersRZ, Interpreter, CombatStupendous, and I'm sure I left many others out. Also, how could I forget Shaggy?
  10. Normally, I don't buy the bull over at screamscape but, if this is true, it is good news! Huss has announced a new business strategy that will allow the company to continue on under the operations of three legally independent companies. Future rides will be developed by HUSS Park Attractions GmbH (Bremen, Germany), a pure engineering office that will focus on sales, development and project management. HUSS Parts and Services GmbH (Bremen, Germany) will take care of the parts and technical support side of things for the over 750 rides already installed throughout the world. Finally the production, pre-assembly and testing of rides will be done by HUSS Gepgyar Kft in Budapest, Hungry. They plan on not only retaking their lead in the flat ride market but also will discuss a return into the portable ride market as well.
  11. ^Just a little tip for ya. I usually write my TR's in Word Perfect and read it over for mistakes in spelling or grammar. Then, I come on-line and post it. I am glad you had a great time at PKI. Next time, add some more details and it should be a better report.
  12. I wouldn't say that Cedar Fair is being cheapos considering that they are honoring what Paramount had already decided on...so, that means that Paramount was being the "cheapos".
  13. His injury reports is his services, I believe. Parks generally ignore them becuase they ususally have an in-house records of any injuries ocurring on any of their rides. Also, Ohio is one of the states that has the strictest standards when it comes to approving for a ride to open or re-open to the public. They blow him off becuase he is only certified to administer or teach CPR or First Aid. Neither one of those qualifies him for being any kind of safety expert. So, when the parks refuse said services he tries to bash them publically to news papers or any kind of media outlet that will listen to him and give them bad press.
  14. Whomever posted a link to the Coasterbuzz site, you need to read the thread again. No one has said any dismantling, only a little electrical work. Anyhoo, I don't think X-Flight or Dominator will be moved from GL. Those are the only two unique coasters in that park.
  15. I just wrote to this guy twice and told him to move on out of mommy's basement and get a real job. I also told him that being qualified to adminsiter and teach CPR and First Aid are not amusement safety expert qualifications. It is also my understanding that he goes to the parks first with his information. Then, when they deny him and his services, he tries to bash on them. What a loser!
  16. But someone already told me that most people in the industry already knows of him and his organization and do not regard him with any kind of expertise.
  17. I always thought the skylift was dangerous. Way too easy to lift the bar and just do something stupid. I've heard of it happening before.
  18. I like the idea of three articles. Here is something you can think about doing that I have seen over at Pointbuzz. When an article is done on the home page, one of the admins usually links to the article in the forums in case anyone who skips the front page misses it.
  19. I like HB, but Nick actually looks a lot better than HB ever did! Yes, some kids know HB, but many more of them know the Nick characters better. Not an opinion, but fact!
  20. Good article. Surprised he didn't mention the fact that Six Flags has become a baby sitting service to the not so upper class.
  21. Where did you find the word DeParamountize on Kings Island's web site? Link please.
  22. Just to let everyone know and not start a new thread, Maverick is coaster #500 for designer Wener Stengel. 74% of coasters ranked in the world were designed by Stengel.
  23. The problems with SOB are not in the design itself. It is the trains for the most part and the poor building by whomever built it.
