  1. Boddah, that is the same organization. They are a useless group. If they got a splinter from some wood in line for The Beast, they'd complain about it. No, there is no real validity in these injuries. Like Boddah said, they are tryin to sell parks their services and when they refuse, they are trashed on their web site.
  2. Wish I could be there to meet all you guys. Unfortunately, money is tight right now. But, the good news is, I'll get to meet a lot of you next year on the big PKIC trip!
  3. I was looking through the history section at some classic photos of the Demon. In some of the photos, the color is obviously off. I was wondering what colors were used? I think the train was yellow like in the pics, but not sure about the track. And, other than The Beast, has any other coaster at KI had two lift hills?
  4. Whatever Cedar Fair Entertainment decides, I believe that they are going to stick with the strategy already in place set by Paramount. Although, I think we can expect a new, thrilling coaster a lot sooner than Paramount had planned on.
  5. ^Freakin' hilarious! The last coaster at CP I would want to see relocated to any other park is Disaster Transport. I don't really care for TR:TR, but it is better than DT.
  6. You don't know that any of the ride names will be changed. Part of their contract, from what I understand, allows them the option to either keep the Paramount name and themes for x number of years, or they can drop it altogether.
  7. Awesome trailer, Combat! Can't wait to see the final product. Does this mean that there is footage of The Bat in there somewhere? Gotta see that! The Flight of Fear footage is outstanding. Great job!
  8. ^Awesome! Now, I feel safer when riding The Vortex knowing that Chuck Norris has got my back.
  9. Not heard of it. However, here in West Virginia, there is a prison that is supposedly haunted located in Moundsville. MTV and Ghost Hunters have both visited.
  10. ^Really. Do the right thing, dude. I guess they figured that no one would notice $11,000 gone in the grand scheme of things. I really can't explain why they allowed it to go so long other than to say who knows exactly how long they knew it was going on. Was it when they reached $5,000, $8,000? Once they did notice, they had to let it go on so that they would do it again and could catch them on tape to build a case against them.
  11. I'm glad I never experienced the first set of lap bars. They sound painful.
  12. Thanks, Interpreter. I was trying to tell people that it's not ghetto. The roulette wheel looking ride (formerly rainbow) looks great with the new paint job. They also repainted the Paratroopers lately. My neighbor works there and he says that Camden painted a lot in the last off-season. Now, they need to keep improving upon the Big Dipper as it is in need of some new paint. I have also wanted to try out that new ferris wheel looking ride where the cars flip. Looks pretty wild! I have gone to Camden since I was in the 5th grade, around the time that Fred and Barney were in school, and I have never seen it look better. One of my favies as a kid was the one car train that you powered yourself.
  13. I for one, can also agree with you Avatar. It's not an easy issue as it is for the most part when it comes to issues like these. It is difficult for me in that I can see both sides. And, when I stop and think about if it was an issue within my family, I'm not sure I wouldn't feel the same as you.
  14. I see what you are saying, but it still makes this an issue of being politically correct. Soon, no one can portray anything in any kind of bad light because somewhere someone will have their feelings hurt. I'm not trying to be callous, but where does this end? If you really want to find a group of people who are truly not respected in society, it's obese people. It seems to be ok to make fat jokes and generally make fun of them. Look at the character Fat ******* from Austin Powers as a perfect example of society making it acceptable to make fun of obese people. Next, all clowns will be protesting because there's another character used in haunted houses to scare people. But, other than people who have a true fear of clowns, when are clowns truly scary? How is it fair to portray them this way when I can never remember in history there ever being a serial killer who dresses in clown suits smattered with blood and gore. Now, Freddy Krueger will be banned because it may offend someone who is a burn victim. See where this is going?
  15. Don't even want to touch this one with a forty foot pole. I don't think using insane people stigmatizes an asylum. Usually, in the case of these attractions, it is an insane aslylum gone awry. It's not a reflection of those facilities that are on par.
  16. Interpreter, if that turns out to be the case, I'll do a back flip off the lift hill! Wheeeeeeeeeee!
  17. It is the ball coaster. Found a link at Coasterbuzz. Now it's called the ZacSpin Coaster. It isn't like the one at Port Aventura.
  18. Just had to bump this again so everyone knows that Avatar and others are still working to make this happen. I have a feeling once we have some numbers and activities posted, we should see more folks signing up.
  19. I thought the official color was Eiffel Tower green or blue. Can't remember which.
  20. Maybe a water park expansion. Don't know and don't care until this season has ended. Cedar Point, I believe, started very early because after the coaster is built, there will be much background theming to do.
  21. Is fearfest scary? I certainly hope so! I will be there this weekend and I will make a trip report. This will be my first Halloween event at any park. Might as well be my home park.
  22. Happy Birthday, PKIC! This is by far the best Kings Island web site around. I would like to thank all of the mods and anyone who has taken the time to contribute articles, photos and anything else I forgot to mention. Combat, Italian Chef, Boddah, Dane,CoastersRZ, and Captain Nemo come to mind first. Sorry I can't remember everyone who has contributed, but thanks to you guys too!
  23. Can't remember where I read it. Maybe over at Coasterbuzz. Anyway, I heard that PETA is mad at Six Flags for allowing corkroaches to be eaten for a skip to the front of the line. Guess you can't be choosy when you are defending all animals, insects, etc.
  24. Yeah, I'd really hate it if Kings Island started having award winning shows. That would be absolutely horrible.
