I don't see the point of bringing back the speakers for IJ:ST. You couldn't hear them before except at the end of the ride. I don't see moving it either since it was just installed in the last couple of years. Doesn't make sense. I agree with The Vortex station and returning The Racers to their three colors. I like riding backwards so I say leave that as it is. Adventure Express needs a little care. The station could stand to be refurbished. I thought that most of the effects were working with a few exceptions? Flight of Fear needs a little work. Take down the unnecessary sign about removing earrings since it is irrelevant now.

Interesting that Intamin seems to have joined the 4th Dimension game. I didn't see this listed on the Intamin Worldwide web site combat. Are there any concept drawings anywhere? I am assumiing that this is different from the one being installed at Port Aventura where the coaster appears to be 4D with the exception of the seats not rotating.

Good to hear that you are ok. I have not been there on a rainy day in years. But, if it is like you said, they may need to address that issue.

PKI Punk, that is good news for you. Have you been in this kind of biz long or is this your first job? Good luck. Consider yourself fortunate to be working in that field as I can imagine that there are not that many jobs available in what you do. CoastersNsich, I hope you are right in that CF may finally be installing more wood coasters throughout their chain. I think that they have come to realize that record breakers do not always equal a great coaster. Maverick is a good example of this.

kwindshawne, I understand what you are saying. What I want to know is...are the state inspectors only concerned with the one section or has the whole structure being inspected to make sure no other part of the ride has that same mis-hap?

OK, I must have misunderstood what they were getting at.

So, I went to GL's web site and basically sent them my recent trip report. I got a letter back today thanking me for taking the time to write them and let them know how much I liked my trip there. I know that they don't always have time to respond to everyone and it was just nice that they took the time to do this. I did leave my constructive criticisms in there so they would know where they can improve their park. Hopefully if my suggestions are the same as many others, these things may happen. Namely, I want better food choices on the rides side. Actually, the choices aren't bad, but the product is not very good. Maybe they need some sponsored food stands like KI.

Please site your sources as to what survey established that? Has the park experienced any kind of drop in attendance since the closing that was not associated with end of season attendance projections? I wouldn't say that she needs to cite sources since she told you guys that Maureen is saying that they are definitely working toward re-opening SOB. One would have to assume that it will be next season since that section has been repaired and they are testing again. Barring anything that would go wrong in the off-season testing, I would think it would be open by next year.

Maybe CF will finally start adding more wooden coasters at their other parks....hint hint...Cedar Point. Mean Streak is ok and Blue Streak is just...eh. Anyway, CP needs a new wood coaster that is just pure fun. Maybe with the addition of Maverick, which is not a record breaker and focuses more on family fun, this could bring new hope for a woodie in the future.

It has to do with 2007, but the topic is the new ride for 2007. You can't argue that Son of Beast is a new attraction for 2007. Don't get me wrong. If it's true, I am excited as well.

Anyone find a link to an article confirming or denying the re-opening of Son of Beast? If this is true, I am really stoked. I didn't get a single lap in this past season.

I agree with what you said Tggr. Interpreter, the whole topic was about what does Maverick compare to and I said Italian Job more so than Millennium Force or Storm Runner. So, while you can say that Maverick is no Italian Job, Maverick is a lot closer to IJ than MF or SR.

^In fact, they are the same kind of Over The Shoulder Restraints, or OTSR's. You can find them on Stormrunner and Kingda Ka. I understand that they are very comfortable as opposed to the old horse collars on Vortex.

Combat, I heard this about Villain from Jeff Putz of Pointbuzz and Coasterbuzz. He had a conversation with Bill Spehn, I believe, in which he stated that it will be rehabbed in the off-season.

It is similar in that it launches and is not really tall or really fast and there is theming.

^I agree that it's not as good as Wicked Twister. It should be ready for the 2007 season. Also, The Villain is getting rehabbed in the off-season.

I sympathize, but they did give them rain checks, which doesn't happen too often. I would have been equally angry over trying to sell the tickets and having to give the money back.

Wouldn't work. I am all for leaving it up and opening it next season, providing another incident like that one won't happen again.
