Thanks! Glad to hear they got it running!

Anybody know what was up with Flight of Fear this weekend? We left the park by noon yesterday and today, but both mornings it was closed. Did it open later in the day(s), or was it down all weekend? Just wondering.

I wanted to click the love button, but then I thought about it. Flat rides in Rivertown? Meh. Might be better than the soccer game and basketball goals honestly. I feel like Adventure Express belongs in Rivertown. Not so sure about flat rides. Although it is not perfect, I like how the park is broken down into different genre's. Flat rides = Coney.

Understood. It was walk-on-city most of the day.

Perhaps. I can't count on fingers or toes how many busy sweltering hot days I've been at the park. The 4th was dead. For reasons I couldn't quite wrap my head around. It wasn't an especially hot day, this 4th.

True story. We thought about going 4th of July, but then backed out fearing it would be packed. The webcams showed us the park was dead---I mean dead---4th of July. And the weather was fine. Shocker. It's on my calendar for next year---we're going 4th of July.

Florida is pretty gross honestly. Friends that live there tell me this. It's just the climate. Roaches and all kinds of other insects everywhere. Pretty sure every eatery and motel/hotel (and many homes) has to keep a constant treatment plan in place and it can still go bad. That said, businesses have to deal with it accordingly.

Following the weather is always a great plan. "Bad" forecast = less crowded. However, I'll be there this Saturday and Sunday with my family. And we're expecting it to be relatively crowded. I think Labor Day is a good option. So many people make other plans for the actual holiday. Like us. Saturday and Sunday 9/1 and 9/2 will be busy. Then most folks will take Monday 9/3 as a relaxation day rather than driving/waiting in lines at the park. Just my 2-cents.

We sometimes bring my parents along on bring-a-friend Sunday's. They're mid-70's, and will absolutely love letting our tweens get behind the wheel and take them for a spin. Something fun for them to do with their grand-children, and a better guest experience for them and their grand-kids. And the park will have some extra spenders in the park as a result. Win-win-win.

Fair enough. But at its best his interpreting basically amounted to, "If a new coaster is going to make them money, it's coming, if not...maybe we'll get some other good stuff". He never provided much info, just pompous about what he knew but couldn't tell. As he told us over and over (and over) again. "Those who know can't tell". What a jerk!

I just want to say that the whole Son of Beast comeback thing is dead and buried. There's a tombstone in the Banshee queue line. Done. Pay your respects, and move on. The park is never gonna go there again.

Does anyone know how many guests are season passholders?
bjcolglazier replied to MisterSG1's topic in Kings Island
Somebody knows, but you won't see it mentioned here. I think it would be way, way, WAY below 70% though. -
The wedding ring rule seems silly to me for sure. I have no idea, but I wonder if maybe there was an incident on a similar ride somewhere? At which point the park's insurance company gets involved and demands the new rule? Who knows?

I just want to know how many Gold passes they sell year-to-year.

KI lets slip plans for 2019 exist on IG today?

As long as there is plenty of room to build, let's not tear down any of the existing coasters. Please and thank you. :-) -
Kings Island closes early (7/10/18) due to “suspicious item” found

Active shooter? AR-15 fire? What the...? -
Has anyone been the only one on a certain ride before
bjcolglazier replied to OTTER9919's topic in Kings Island
Probably doesn't count as a "zen ride", but our family of five did Stunt Coaster 2x in a row one morning all by ourselves. And also Adventure Express on an absolutely freezing April evening when no sane person was left in the park. Had the entire Coney Mall stretch essentially to ourselves that night as well. -
A lot of people were worried about this all-season thing being too cheap, and creating crazy-long ride queue times. From what I can tell that's not the case at all. The park just pocketed some serious cash, and those who have the pass don't have to wait during their visits. No harm no foul? I love FL+, and have purchased it several times in the past...but cannot justify $500/year living 3-hours away and getting maybe 7-15 visits per season, often quiet Sundays. For those who bought it, and make use of it...what a deal! Good for them. I think it's a win-win for everyone honestly.

Yeah, every day is different, but practically all of my "greatest days" at Kings Island have been when the weather was sketchy. Sometimes it feels like you have the park rented out to you and your family when everything is a walk-on---and it's amazing. I was there Sunday. It was not an empty park, but the threat of rain definitely enabled us to get a lot of rides in, and we were gone by 1:30pm just because. Just looking at the webcams tonight I can tell the park is empty and there's another hour+ to go. And it's dry, but hasn't been all day. It's amazing how many rides you can get in quickly when there's no lines!

Can someone put this into a simulator, and tell us the speed and g-forces at the bottom of the first drop? lol

Not sure 2 minutes constitutes a monopoly, but...been there, done that.

The holiday period Thanksgiving all the way thru New Year's is so heavily built on family traditions. And it's busy. I just hope KI hangs in there with Winterfest, and gives everyone time to make the park a part of tradition. I hope Winterfest made them money last year, but I have no idea. But one would think this is surely a years-long investment, and attendance numbers will go up as the years progress so long as they promote it well.
