The Interpreter, have you heard of Tacos Too!? (Punctuation part of the name.) Computer staffing vs. adequate staffing of Taco Tico. -

I'm not sure of what he accomplished...I had a great chicken wrap at the Reds HOFG, but I am not sure if that was his doing or not. I just checked my Twitter and yes, Chef Nate had recently posted. -
2015 KIC Off Season Poll Series Week XIII: Kings Island Food Future

Fierce as in they had standards and expectations. Not as in mistreatment. I closed in the summer months and many nights were spent working hard, but laughing and having FUN. Sharon was the manager who told me once, (jokingly) "I'd write you up for insubordination, if I could spell it!" after I told her she could wash some dishes, too. -

I don't know...I worked McDonald's when I was a teenager. We worked our tails off and yet had fun. Our managers were fierce and we knew QSC&V as it was constantly ingrained in us. The food service people this year, while friendly, were mostly moving in slow motion, and at the Skyline Chili location in the area formerly known as Coney Mall, they were leaning on their elbows on the prep table while preparing food. They need more workers who have a stronger work ethic--unfortunately this is a hard thing to find. -
Flying Eagles was originally located in the area formerly known as Coney Mall in the spot where Dogem is currently. It came from Coney Island in 1972 and in 1986 was moved back to where the basketball game is near Shake Rattle N Roll/Vortex are now. The original Bat was located where Vortex is now--Vortex reuses the station. Halley's Comet was removed in 1979.

If only I had an Ohio RN license....and didn't live three hours away....and could only work at KI during the week...haha

Maybe they should have a paving schedule--start this year near the new entrance and repave X acres and progress each year. Coasterohio, I haven't had a chance to grab the photo from my Facebook, Ive been swamped with work this week. I'll try to get it done tonight if snowpocalyse doesn't require to board at the hospital. (I am a nurse.)

I will attempt to grab them from Facebook and import them here. Or you could just become a Facebook friend. But, they are cell phone pics and as such, may or may not be filtered by my eyes, wanting to see a newly resurfaced parking lot.
-
A co-worker is staying at Great Wolf Lodge and sent me photos of the parking lot today. It's hard to tell, but it did look scarified. Who knew that looking at cell phone photos of a parking lot would bring a little warmth on a cold day?

AWESOME Beverage Deal for Passholders at KI!
BeeastFarmer replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
If I played the lottery, and if the Powerball was at the level then as is was this week, and if I won, and if it were not for that pesky debt, I may have thought about buying the company back then. -
My guess would be either: 1. Budget reduction. 2. Until someone else is hired the duties are split.

^^ Wonder if he is going to the new SIX park that is under discussion in China?

When you read posts on KICentral, and someone mentions Western Row and you automatically say aloud: "Western Row Road" in a Scooby voice.

I took an opportunity to work PT hours with FT pay and benefits in order to enjoy life more, and as an extension of that, enjoy roller coasters. Currently, I am picking up as many extra shifts as possible to fund my summer adventures. Choices, indeed!

Winterfest Wishes and Ideas- A Way to Bring It Back
BeeastFarmer replied to Skyrider's topic in Kings Island
I've been to Dollywood twice this Christmas season and it was incredible. Coasters were open, but lines were short, shows were great, and lighting was out of this world. They did have open fires for s'mores and it was a great addition to the atmosphere. (Smelling the burning wood and seeing the smoke against the sunset at the top of Wild Eagle was a very special moment.) It was my first Christmas event in an amusement park. I could go on and on about how well the park in general is themed and about how magical the place felt to both myself and my friend. I think a big part of the success for Christmas in the Smokies is that Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Sevierville is a resort destination vs. Cincy which does attract tourists, but is much more spread out. It would be awesome to have a Christmas event at KI and since I never attended Winterfest, but I think if it could work, Cedar Fair would know how to do it, given what they can control. In the meantime, I can use my gold pass through the first few days of 2017 for Dollywood's event. -

I thank your overestimating how many people go to KK 2014 figures were around 600,000. How many went in 2015, I have no clue. I also have no clue about the number of posters on this discussion board, but I would doubt there would be over 200 since the beginning of the thread.
-
I think, with many other things, season pass processing is an opportunity for the park to work on. Looking at the parks Facebook page, many people wait long amounts of time. For my 2015 pass, I waited about two weeks, and this was ok for me because I did not plan to visit since it is a relatively short drive. I paid for my 2016 pass during the state fair, and got it in the mail in November (I think, I posted about it here.) The Interpreter evidently is known in the industry and most likely would draw the attention. The average KICentral user, who is not an insider, probably would not. I don't think Mr. Hart and his partners look at each pass and compare passholder names to user names on this discussion board.
-
Yet there are a handful of posters on this thread who have been to the park and NOT turned away. If you are concerned about being turned away, buy your ticket with cash or at Kroger.

I can only do week day meet ups as I work weekends.

Of course I would!

2015 KIC Off Season Poll Series Week VII: Park Upgrades

Faster food service. I would rather have that than trams, a Soak City expansion, pavers, a largest Starbucks in the tri-state area or a repainted Racer. But I really want a repainted Racer, too. -
The Interpreter, I was wrong in that choice of wording and I was wrong in my understanding of who was trying to initiate Bluegrass Boardwalk. I have apologized and edited that post to reflect my error. My use of the word was what I thought was a unified family many years ago. I was wrong, admitted it and moved on. I do not see the family as a coalition, just for the record.

Hopefully they will do something about the human grease stains on the Diamondback coaches.
