I feel much better about Racer and the paint after seeing Georgia Cyclone. Now THAT is a coaster that needs paint, along with many other coasters at SFOG.

It is my goal to ride coasters every month in 2017. I'm going to SFOG this week, Knotts/SFMM/Disneyland/Castles and Coasters next month. March is iffy right now, and then all months for the rest of the year will be covered, but TBD. If I get my vacation request, June will be PA/NJ time. I'd like to make it back to KD and Cwinds, but that may not be effcient. But KD is such a great park...sooooo....

The laws of diminishing returns apply. If the input is greater than the output then the upkeep will be the downfall. To keep your mind off of opening day, delve into your studies. Improving academics will serve anyone in the short and long term. In your spare time, read about parks, start a blog, and watch Youtube videos. Enjoy your family and friends. Define what your interests are and delve into them.

Great report! I was there on Wednesday last week and had a great day. I rode the train for the first time and I agree with you. I even liked the cinders in my (very sparse) hair!

For me, KD was the perfect park. The company seems to have relegated it to the lower percentile of parks, but I hope that is reversed in the future. They do so many things right there.

Observations: 1. EOTS will go where the Dragsters used to be, according to KK's Facebook page. 2. On PTC's Facebook page, there is a recent picture of the chassis for the new TR train.

I saw that earlier today. My coworker say me looking at the webcam and asked if it had to do with the shed. Then we watched the workers crawling through the life hill bents in awe--if the wind was anything up there like it was here, it was pretty stout. And looked to be raining something fierce, too.

I'd love a Friday opening with a preview night on Thursday. That's not going to happen, but I would love it!

I doubt the bottles would go away completely. Holiday World and Kentucky Kingdom still them and people buy them.

In my visits to HW and KK (free drinks/free drinks if SP renewed by deadline-then $1.00 drinks), I did not notice an inordinate amount of trash from cups. With the the amount of trash cans CF puts in the parks, I don't see it being much of a problem. I filled out the survey and think it's a great idea. Maybe the powers that be listen to patrons! Now if they could link your Funpix to your season pass so it would be one less thing to carry around...that being said, I did not have Funpix, but my understanding is it is a seperate card with a lanyard.

Bill Hargrave, the park’s Vice President of Construction, remarked, “This new train replaces the original Thunder Run train first put into service in 1990. With its advanced technology, the new train, together with the track improvements, will give coaster enthusiasts a smoother and faster ride.” In addition, the park will be adding a new ride, “Eye of the Storm,” described as a 24-passenger, high-speed thrill ride with a roller coaster train that circles a seven-story loop, featuring continuous rotations, inversions, and both forward and backward motions, which is clearly a Fire Ball/Super Loop from our friends at Larson International. I'd exchange Invertigo for Grizzly (KD), Firehawk for Dominnator and Flight of Fear for Volcano: The Blast Coaster. While I am at it, I'd exchange the former The Crypt for nothing except some grass and trees.

So, in addition to EotS and work/train on TR, there are several improvements coming: A new entrance to HB, more shade structures at HB and KK que lines, tables, chairs, etc, more AC in food places and restrooms (which is awesome, that is something that KK is miles ahead of KI on, comfortable inside eating and cold restrooms--those blasts of coolness on hot, humid days is great and the restrooms don't stink!), more ticket windows at front gate and new tech to speed up pass sales and in park sales. Well, this was news worth waiting for. I've never ridden one of these contraptions, and don't know if I will since I don't like going backwards. But I think it makes good sense for the park and ties in well with the weather theme they have going on. I'm more intrigued about the train and work on Thunder Run. It's a great ride as is after the million dollars put into it in late 2013 with RMC retracking it.

I rode it for the first time last year since the early 90's, not knowing how to ride or where to ride. I enjoyed it, but later learned that 5-1 or 7-1 give the best rides. So those are my go-to seats now. I also don't have to worry about headbanging, so that helps.

I guess I am in the minority, but I can enjoy Vortex now, and didn't enjoy it when it was newer. Maybe that sinking is helping it?

It would be same concept as a drive through window, except the cashier would take the order and suggestive sell. I'd be all for it. I'd also like to see a BBQ/country style sit down eating establishment somewhere in the main park. Hopefully the Soak City BBQ model will translate over to the park somewhere.

I had a dream in June that I visited the park and they were playing orchestral music on I-Street and all the storefronts still were themed to European countries. Everything was a mirror image of where it should have been and the themed lands had different names. And there were different coasters, but a few were the same. Then I realized I wasn't dreaming, I was awake and at Kings Dominion. Words can't express how much I loved this park!

To me it looks like leaves have been moved there for collection/removal. Doesn't look like blacktop has been removed...if it were, there'd be bigger sections, I would think. Good eyes. I'm getting old, so either the leaves looked like dirt or my want for pavers was stronger than reality.

On the Diamondback webcam, it looks like something is going on with the pathway from the ET to Rivertown Pizza. I see lots of activity near the Tropical drink stand and it looks like alot of blacktop has been removed.

I hope food service will be a major focus with the new administration. I've had great experiences and dismal experiences at KI this year, yet at KD and Cwinds, no issues. The only issues I had at CP was the waitress in one place trying to charge me .25 for my all season refill and the "side salad" at a different location. It was some lettuce leaves, two sliced tomates and a sliced onion. Basically hamburger toppings.

I carry my cell phone, insulin pen and alcohol prep pads in my zippered pocked. I usually leave my cup and other items in the car. I have found it is worth the $5 to use preferred parking rather than paying for a locker. I did, however, carry my backpack last Friday night because I wanted to have a jacket and you can't leave the park once Haunt starts.

.I would love to see a "one pass" type of card: Your season pass+drinks+Funpix. Also the option to add cash to your pass card for games, ice cream, merchandise etc.
