  1. I don't think The Bat will go because it's a fairly family friendly coaster. I'm a giant chicken when it comes to the big coasters, so I appreciate smaller ones like The Bat. The queue line to it though is absolutely ridiculous.
  2. Is it fun though? Like I work retail and I have a love hate relationship with the Christmas season because it can be super busy and stressful, but at the end of the year, it feels very rewarding that I survived. lol
  3. I just wish there was more consistent theming throughout the sections of the park. For example, I can't tell that Oktoberfest is anything remotely german-ey. Some of the rides that have theming need to be touched up desperately, like Boo Blasters or Adventure Express. I think Kings Island is really special, and some of the specialness isn't being showcased. Like I saw a picture recently of former paw prints that led to The Beast-- and I thought that was super cool. It's a small touch to showcase an attraction that no one else in the world has.
  4. Anyone here work during Haunt? Is it more fun or more stressful for employees?
  5. That would be wonderful! How were the shops transformed for Winterfest in the past?
  6. I think 2018 season will be quiet actually. Maybe retheming Boo Blasters for a Peanuts expansion in the future. My heart always hopes for TLC on existing attractions before a new coaster. Just fresh coats of paint, updates on some theming (like in Adventure Express and The Bat), stuff like that.
  7. As a store merchandiser, I wonder what has sold better or if it's purely contracts.
  8. Ah, I'm not particularly knowledgeable about ginko trees. They would be kind of neat to have a small line of them planted near The Racer as a small nod to the parks past. I looked at some of the old pics of the trees and they definitely didn't look shady at all, but they look neat. I actually really enjoy the vintage amusement park feel, so I think bringing back the Coney Mall sign and maybe some new lighting and paint throughout the stretch could really bring some life back into the area.
  9. I don't think it should be overhauled, but it has needed some TLC. In the documentary I watched last night, they talked about ginko trees being planted in that section. Are they still there and just aren't trimmed? Even something small like that could be a little nod to nostalgia.
  10. Last night, I watched a documentary about Kings Island on Youtube and they talked a lot about the creation of International Street. They mentioned that the shops were originally themed to different countries. I rarely go and explore the different stores anymore, other than the occasional visit to the 80's shop. I don't remember any internationally themed stores, so I was curious of what were some of the shops originally on International Street. When did International Street start changing? Sorry if there's already a topic for this.
  11. I would like that and dislike that at the same time. I generally hop on Boo Blasters when I need to rest my feet and cool down, so I would miss that in the summer.
  12. I wonder if they added a little more theming to Congo Falls if that would attract more people to it. I always skip Congo Falls truthfully, but I might not if there was a little more to look at.
  13. I don't see The Racer moving for awhile not only for nostalgic reasons-- but for merchandising and advertisement. The Brady Bunch riding that coaster is still talked about too much, you know? Last time I rode it, I thought it was great except for needing a fresh coat of paint in the tunnel waiting to return to the station. Lots of hand prints and maybe a large vomit spot! I wouldn't want to see it get an RMC conversion either, but that's just me personally. If I had to make a prediction for a coaster, I'd pick The Vortex. The past few times I've been to the park--Vortex was down for hours and even when it was reopened, the line wasn't long. It sounded rough when it was running, and the paint was fading quickly. My biggest pick for a ride leaving would be Boo Blasters. I hope it would just be replaced with another dark ride, hopefully with a Peanuts theme.
  14. Interesting!! I never go to ride the Smurfs ride, but that was the main video that popped up when I searched.
  15. For years I was so afraid on coasters that I wouldn't put my hands up, so once I started getting over my fears--I put my hands up and have loved it.. Although, I can never keep them up during the second helix of The Beast. Not only am I afraid of hitting the tunnel, but the force in the section is so intense makes my neck hurt worse if my hands are up.
  16. I think I'm gonna start with The Beast this year! I've waited a few hours into park visits the past few times I've visited and it always has such a long line mid-day.
  17. I found a video of the Smurfs ride during Winterfest on Youtube back in 1988 (because I wasn't sure how holiday theming had been incorporated into the dark rides in the past for Winterfest)--and liked that a lot of the holiday stuff was right at the end (as far as I could tell). That'd be kind of cool for Boo Blasters. There's a few dark and fairly empty spots towards the end of Boo Blasters.
  18. I get motion sickness on rides like Chaos, so if it were up to me, I'd vote no. I wouldn't mind some flat rides though that didn't spin! edit: if there are any that exist...
  19. This was amazing to look through! I shared with my friends on Facebook too. I enjoyed the pictures from the Nickelodeon area and the promotion for Son of Beast! It made me really miss some of the former theming!
  20. I regret not riding The Racer backwards, and I wish I had gotten the chance to ride Phantom Theater. I think the first time I had went to KI--it was already Scooby Doo themed.
  21. I'm excited that Adventure Express has been fixed up! I loved that ride, not for the thrills but the actual theming. I think Kings Island is really lacking theming that's consistently updated. I'd love to see Backlot Stunt Coaster get a facelift. My main gripe has been stated already--but I think all of the empty buildings, sheds (and last year, I even saw a werewolf over near The Bat) for Haunt are extremely tacky and make me feel like the park wasn't touched in the offseason. 22. I think it is a coincidence. For some reason, I highly doubt KI would do a Wizard of Oz themed attraction with KK having that lame-o movie still. I also am not completely convinced if falling trees have anything to do with what's going in... Mainly because Dollywood has had a few lumber-themed rides over the past decade. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Hey this year they have an Angry Birds movie!!! Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk Oh! I didn't know! Hopefully it's better! So maybe Oz is a possibility! 25. Someone on my Facebook had posted this and I had never heard of this park before. Anyone here ever go to it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
