XGatorHead 8904
My question is with all the people going threw the gates how did you even reconize that one person? How does the park know if there person they kick out is a season pass holder or not? ITs not like they can look in thier wallet and see if they have a pass. I assume you're asking me how I recognized that one person. All I can say is, the situation was an interesting one. This person had caused headaches for us on numerous occasions in the past, in particular my department. So the supervisors and most of the line associates that worked for me at the time knew who this person was. And another thing that helped was that he tried to enter when the turnstiles weren't too busy. It was during Fearfest, and it was after the initial rush of people. If he had tried to come in a little earlier, he may have been able to slip by. I emphasize the "may" because, like I said, many people in the department knew him. And I just remembered this... when park police asked him what he was doing back at the park, he said that he didn't think that his ban applied to FearFest! As for your other question on how they know if a person has a pass or not, I'm not able to answer that because I've never worked in Security at the park.
MarketingExpress
I’m wondering how many people on here who have said that they have seen a lot of people kicked out actually followed security/park police up to the front gate and watched them be escorted out of the park…or were just assuming because they left with a member of security that they would be kicked out of the park. I only ask because I am not reading about anyone posting that they followed these troubled individuals to the front gate.
Diamondback FOF
A couple people posted that they followed the person to the front gate. But, I was wondering the same thing you just asked.
LongLiveTheSmurfRide
Well, since the person I mentioned was arrested; I know they got kicked out of the park, lol.
scarletandgrayfever
I wonder that too. I know for a lot of incidences mentioned, it wouldn't cause for removal from the park, just removal from the ride line. Things such as fighting, stealing, and anything else illegal will get them out the park.
thatbandguy8807
My sister-in-law's sister and husband got kicked out in 2008 for assaulting an officer, but it all stemmed from smoking in line. The story, as I've heard it, is that they were in line for either Firehawk or Italian Job (can't remember exactly which) but they were smoking in line and some people complained and a staff member told them to put it out. They refused and got unruly, cussing and causing a scene ("I'm allowed to smoke, it's a free country...blah blah..*hack* *cough* *choke* *expletive*...blah blah!") and Mason police were brought in to escort them out and the wife was cussing at them and hit one and then her husband got in and pushed one so they were handcuffed and taken to cool off in the jail. All that over smoking. I seriously can't understand how people can go so overboard over putting a little puff stick in their mouth. I mean, I know it's an addiction, but to go nuts because you can't do it in a crowded line with people having to inhale it is just stupid. Of course, they still hold to it that they were the ones who were wronged and Kings Island is a bad place. well thats just like when i was at haunt one night in line for urgent scare...the group behind us was smoking and cussing up a storm and what not...i asked them politely to put it out and they started getting in my face and cussing at me saying that they could do whatever they wanted and i wasnt their daddy and i couldnt do anything to them to make them stop. whats sad is i got one of the scare actors pulled them aside, showed them my park ID since i work there and told them the story and they told them to put it out also...problem was that they started cussing the scare actor out and then got into my face saing bunch of things i wont repeat lol..but i ended up even getting security to come over but they still refused..bad part about it was that once the group told security where he could go to, and that they werent going to listen then the security officer left it at that and walked off and didnt do anything about it..what made it worse is the went through the maze with me and stayed behind me shoving me and what not...i decided that it was best to not give in and do what i wanted to do because i decided that it would not be wise and what not...nothing was ever done to make them obey the park rules...but i suppose its best to leave it be and just move on...i was hoping that they would have been kicked out for being so unrulely but they never were
The Interpreter
I've said it before in similar situations and I'll say it again. In a situation like that, that security officer should have been fired. There are so many security people who do such a tremendous job, keeping one like that does bad things: * It breeds disrespect for all security people everywhere...as if their jobs weren't tough enough already. It teaches people like the ones in the example here that they can do what they want without fear of enforcement of valid park rules. It's the old "camel's nose" theory. If I can do that, I can do what I want... * Had those people gone on to do a major, violent act, the park was already on notice of their bad behavior and failure to comply with legitimate park directives issued by its staff. That is not a place where the park wants to be. * It also contributes to the general rowdiness perception issue the park has during Haunt. Oh, it doesn't have one, you say? Please explain why the NO RE-ENTRY policy applies ONLY during Haunt (as it did during the old Grad Nights, which had similar issues). TrainedBeast
I've seen quite a few get kicked out of the park since '97 when I started going. One of my favorites was on the KI&MVRR. These group of preteen and teenage boys (about 5 of them) were in the middle of a full train and they kept trying to hang off the side of the Train while it was in motion and nearly fell off several times. The conductor on the front told them kindly 3 times to sit down otherwise the Train was going to stop and they would call security. They didn't stop so the Conductor stopped the Train, the rear conductor brought the boys to the back of the Train and Security was called. The entire train cheered including myself. And in '08 while at Urgent Scare, I had an drunk and unruly guest smoking like a chimney (He had 3 in his mouth at one time D: ) in line and I told him to put it out please. He then took a huge puff and blew it right into my face. I had a severe Asthma attack but luckily one of the black shirted security guards saw, helped me out and then got him. He got shoved and nearly decked so he handcuffed him. It was great.

I agree terpy, it does breed disrespect for all security officers, I work security at paul brown stadium and I know how hard the job can be but there are times when you do have to put your foot down as a part of security and take charge. unfortunately it wasnt done.
sheikra_rocks
The day they transfer track of Diamondback was installed, I was over by the 80's theater taking videos and pics of them lowering the section into place. I happened to look down into the theater and see a guy with a girl sitting on his lap in the front row. They were kissing.... at first. It got a little more to the R rating and I had to call GR to have them call security. I'm sorry, Kings Island is a park for families, not a park for making families. I don't wanna see kissing and groping in line either. Line jumpers should be placed in front of a firing squad. I am sorry, but if you are one of the people who are "catching up to your family" it is LINE JUMPING!

There are so many security people who do such a tremendous job, keeping one like that does bad things: I completely agree with you; however, the upper management in this department at Kings Island cares about all the wrong things. Those who attempt to do a fabulous job, when it comes down to it, do it all for null. The same cannot be said for the rides department. I can definitely say that the operators at Beast for the last two seasons haven't put up with the crap that guests will sometimes dish out. If people aren't following the rules there, they are told or removed.

Hawaiian Coasters 325
Resurrecting an old thread. I saw a kid get in trouble when I was younger for spitting over the side of the Eiffel Tower where workers were telling him to get into the elevator. I don't know what happened next, but most likely he was ejected from the park.

That person was technically breaking the law by spitting over the side, which is why they were likely being removed from the platform, and potentially the park. It is against Ohio Revised Code to disobey any written or verbal rule on amusement rides in the state (Section 1711.551). At Coney, I have had security remove people from the park after they have threatened to beat up one of our operators for not letting their kid on the ride who was too short.

YOULLBEBACK
I remember working the parking lot in 1996, which is a position I don't think exists anymore. Anyways, our role was to assist traffic flow and to also alert security if you see anything that could potentially be an issue (seeing anything illegal, drinking, drugs, odd behavior, PDA in and out of cars, etc). I will say that, at least back then, the park was proactive in trying to spot and remove potentially unruly guests. And yes, people do really stupid things in a parking lot. FoF96"
When their kids are 1/2” too short to ride and they try to argue “come on they’re close enough aren’t they?” No they are not sir or madame. I know people that have stuffed their kids shoes to meet a height requirement and then I ask them well if you little girl got thrown from the ride would you then sue and they are like D@#M Straight I would" Our society has degraded to the point that most do not want to accept responsibility for their actions. I bet most that have been kicked out of KI or elsewhere wouldn't have been kicked out had they simply obeyed the request after the "violation" was pointed out to them. What a sad society commentary when someone is smoking in line and anyone (whether it be another visitor, employee, or security) kindly reminds/informs them there is no smoking in line and they go off and say they will smoke wherever they please. FoF96"
Lol the sarcasm in me always wants to come out with a quick witted response such as “no, it is you who made them cry for ignoring posted safety information at the entrance” but we all know in the name of guest relations, those responses aren’t allowed
King Ding Dong
No. Parental Unit did not ignore the sign. They told the kid they were not tall enough, but parents are always wrong so kid insisted he try anyway. Insisted. You made them cry by turning them away, the little darling cries twice as loud if anyone in the party does get to ride making sure everyone is miserable. Exasperated parent is in for huge bucks already so caves and buys an an ice cream 4X the size the kid can possibly eat without total brain freeze. I was that kid.
APE
Working Games in 04 there were three things of note. I busted a group passing fake bills. That was fun had to do an actual police report and everything. I watched two groups get into a fight. Pretty sure I saw one group flash a gang sign at the other and it was a rival. started with water bottles getting thrown and went into a full on brawl. I will never forget an old guy coming out of no where and grabbing two of the kids involved and holding them up screaming at them. I just sat back and enjoyed it. Security was over to get them fairly quick. Some random tween girl thought it would be funny to throw a softball at my face at one ball milk can. I think it is a quarter game now right by Racer. I had her and her two friends thrown out with a quickness while they pleaded with me. I have no remorse your actions have punishments.
Hawaiian Coasters 325
Resurrecting this thread again. I've been hearing some stories of some teen behavior at Kings Island this year. They also seem to be cracking down on the having phones out on rides issue. Imo this looks like a good place to discuss stuff like that even if they don't end up getting ejected.
