Vortex
speaking of backlot, all models are said to have three launches. first launch from station launch at helicopter ??? what is the third launch or is that a launch when "busting threw the billboard"? Yes its a very small launch coming out of the billboard.
Gturner94
I have to say Gemini I heard so much hype and then got there and it wasnt as great as i heard
brick52
I would say Firehawk, because the wait moves really slow and is typically an hour and a half, but the ride barely lasts a minute.
selective
Phantom Theater Here's the ride! Before it was closed 2 years later, they tried to deny adults on the ride unless they had kids with them. Sad, I remember when it first opened it was all adults standing in like an hour long line just to ride it. Why should only kids have all the fun? The Scooby-Doo Haunted Castle sucks! This is why the wait for it is always so short. Well, before these it was The Smurf Enchanted Voyage Ride with slowly floating water boats. Then even further back, just called Enchanted Voyage. I hope it goes back to Phantom Theater again! or something better than Scooby-Doo
Diamondback FOF
It is going to Boo Blasters on Boo Hill Edit: At first I thought his comment said different than Scooby, not better than.
selective
Yeah, I think so.... I was just looking at that info...... I hope it's better, but hard to say till I give it a try.
muppetfan1999
My favorite fail ride is Scooby Doo and The Haunted Castle. I liked it because I like interactive rides and Scooby Doo.
Pillsberry123
Phantom Theater Here's the ride! This is a little off topic, but (being 15) I never thought that I had the opportunity to ride Phantom Theater, so I never bothered looking up anything about it. Watching that video brought back a memory. Thanks for that.
CincyMan98
The Scooby-Doo Haunted Castle sucks! This is why the wait for it is always so short. Not to start an argument or anything, but from what I've seen in the past, Scooby-Doo's line is at least 45 minutes long.
The Interpreter
This year, that ride has had no line whatsoever... Terpy, stating the literal but misleading truth
CoastersRZ
Well, it did have a line on opening day. I have not ridden it recently, save for a couple spins in the late evening a few weeks ago on a Friday when the park was empty to begin with. DBru
^^So then, what exactly are you saying? Edit: Ah, got it.
CoastersRZ
That the ride had a line on opening day. And that the recent times I`ve ridden it with no line have been skewed because the rest of the park was empty and there were no lines elsewhere in the park. KIfan1980
You missed the Terpy point. This ride was Scooby. A new ride called Boo Blasters had a line. And a fairly long one Sunday afternoon as well.
The Interpreter
Indeed. And I am sure several readers said BOO to that Terpy line... Terpy, quite the literalist at times...(and not trying to make a mountain out of a boo hill)
thunderbeast1968
Fail ride? I was not thrilled with the Power Tower at The Point. It is ok but not that thrilling. As for Firehawk being a fail, the load time stinks, not the actual ride. When I went to Geauga Lake the que line was not as bad and the ride ops seemed to know how to quickly load and unload people. Btw has anyone rode a B&M flyer? How does it compare to a Vekoma? I say a B&M would be better, but not sure till I ride one.
The Interpreter
I am one of few people who thinks that the Vekoma Flyers are far superior to the Superman B and M flyers at SFOG, SFGAd and SFGAm. I do prefer Tatsu to any of the other fliers I have ridden, though.
csikoth
I went to Bay Area Bash this weekend and went on the worst wooden coaster in the "Mitch's coaster poll" for many years been in last place The Grizzly. And i went in thinking man how can this ride be so bad. After getting off the ride I think it should be moved up a couple notches and not last place I have ridden coasters that are worst.
The Interpreter
I actually find Grizzly West to be tame and rather pointless. Silly, even. But painful? No. Even if the park brochure for years did call it "bumpy." Hey, they needed an adjective!
Oldiesmann
My favorite fail ride would definitely have to be Son of Beast. After that it would probably be the short-lived Scooby's Ghoster Coaster (fun little ride, but the capacity was horrible).
The Interpreter
Well, it was fun until it stopped at the end. Especially if you were male. To say it stopped abruptly is to be kind.
IndyGuy4KI
Well, it was fun until it stopped at the end. Especially if you were male. To say it stopped abruptly is to be kind. That is true, I rode it once and that was it for me! I had a high pitched voice for an hour!
KI Kevin
Btw has anyone rode a B&M flyer? How does it compare to a Vekoma? I say a B&M would be better, but not sure till I ride one. I've ridden a Superman clone at SFoG and Tatsu, and I'd say they're both better than the Vekomas.
The Interpreter
And I would say the exact opposite. I much prefer the Vekoma flyers to the Supermen flyers. Not true, Tatsu, though...
KI Kevin
I usually don't bash others for their coaster opinions (as we all have different favorites), but if one were to say that they like Vekoma flyers over Tatsu I would be shocked.
The Interpreter
I completely and totally agree. Tatsu is simply incredible...
sheikra_rocks
TO the person who mentioned Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and has not ridden it yet.... Rockit is my favorite coaster so far this year. I have ridden quite of few coasters this year that I have never ridden before. LIke the other person said, don't judge a book by it's cover, because that is what I did. The full queue line only takes 20 minutes to go through even though they say 30 to 45 minutes. There is tons of air time at the right places, and the music selections are great. Plus with the moving loading platform, it is a people eater. I rode it twice waiting 25 minutes each time, and passed the same guy who was waiting in the single rider line TWICE. My favorite FAIL / removed ride has to be Python from BGT. It was Florida's first looping roller coaster. At one time it was the only coaster to deliver a little bit of air time at the park. The foliage around the coaster was so beautiful. I nearly cried when this coaster was removed. I grew up riding it. Then they open that Jungala crap in the former Python location.
The Interpreter
I, too, miss Python. Then again, I adore virtually everything about BGT...well, except the wood coaster maintenance department....
sheikra_rocks
They are switching the Gwazi trains to Millenium Fliers. That should improve the ride, but BGT's forte is steel.
The Interpreter
Unless and until they properly maintain the track they have, switching trains will do little to improve the situation.
