The Interpreter
This whole thing has much more to do with Kentucky Kingdom than it would first appear. It isn't only about two weeks in August...
rhyano
Better PR would help, heck even a 14 year old can do a better job at PR than the current/last years
The Interpreter
Not under Ed Hart. HE calls the strategy and the shots. All credit, and blame, for PR is, to be fair, his alone. Do differently than what he wants, find yourself unemployed, very quickly. This is just as true in virtually every department. Remember Mr. Hart's many personally made statements last year? From the breast feeding situation to the lawsuits against the park, Ed--and his legal pal Glasscock--had something to loudly proclaim about each situation that arose--and did. Stay tuned.

The Interpreter
Enjoy! Try to go before the fair, which is in August.
Oldiesmann
I am going to try to stop by KK on my way back from Holiwood Nights in May.
FutureThrills
I moved to Louisville a few years ago from Northern KY for an IT job. I visited the park last year as I have not been there since I was a child. I was unimpressed in the park overall. I visited in the early summer and It was already littered with tons of new graffiti. The park does have quite a gem of a roller coaster though in Thunder Run. I would only return this year to ride it again before it disappeared.
RailRider
When you have a landlord you truly have very little say about what you do with the property you lease. Remember all rides will become property of the Fair Board if/when Kentucky Kingdom closes. They have a vested interest in what rides KK adds.
The Interpreter
Unless the park fails financially. Then, the rides go to the foreclosing lender and/or the Trustee in Bankruptcy...
rhyano
Someone needs to take that grafeti off, I would not be surprised if I am the one when I go to Kentucky Kingdom
The Interpreter
Be careful. In that park you might get arrested for "defacing" the coaster! Terp, half kidding, but only half.
FoF96"
Believe it or not, we had stuff that took it off. We used it maybe once a month and even with the repeated warnings/removal from park, people still thought that was "cool" for whatever reason.

BB1
To say that T3 is going to be flagship is not exactly the same in my eyes. T3 is a Vekoma, similar to many other Six Flags installations, with a similar ride layout more commonly known as a clone. Sure, it may be a "thrilling" attraction, Lightning Run is revolutionary. It is the first of its' kind and a one of a kind coaster. It has some great airtime and some great turns, making for a great attraction. While T3 is mainly for the loops and inversions. The park, sure they want to put the latest and newest attraction as flagship, but I believe that in the eyes of the park guest, and the enthusiast base, that Lightning Run will keep the crown.
The Interpreter
T3 is not a clone. At all.
BB1
I do believe that Ednor at La Ronde is a clone of T3, as El Condor was the first of SLCs, as per the POVs that I have watched and compared. EDIT: Here is Condor , now compare to T3 .
silver2005
T3 and El Condor are prototypes of the SLC layout. There are subtle differences. 1. Shallower 1st drop angle. 2. Straight track on the last bit before the brakes whereas the others snake through s-curves. Some even have an added helix.
BB1
In the end, the point I am making is that one could find a coaster like T3 at another park, yet Lightning Run is special as it has no comparison as of now. Of which I just can't really see T3 lasting as a flagship, rather that if anything, it may share the crown with Lightning Run, or may be a little bit less popular as LR is a family yet thrilling attraction for its' size and radius.
The Interpreter
Some of us have done more than watched videos of the two rides. They are not clones.
silver2005
I'll put it this way BB1- the Hartland will need much more than claiming a 'flagship ride' (which, I've read and heard nothing but awful reviews of T2) to save its skin. To me, T3 is being 'added' out of convenience if anything.

There is nothing in Kentucky Kingdom that makes me think...I HAVE to visit this place. It appears the article messed up the details on Thunderbird's entry; it's Holiday World's 4th (major) coaster, not it's third (they forgot about The Legend).
