The Interpreter
There are those things I have done, those things I have not done yet, and those things I probably will never do. Along with things like playing football for the NFL, Sky Jump at Stratosphere definitely fits that last category...
CoastersRZ
I think I would do Sky Jump, if someone offered to pay my way for me. I definitely wouldn`t spend $100 to do it though. I`m too tight with my money to drop that much on an experience that wouldn`t only last a couple of seconds.
The Interpreter
Oh, were it not for medical limitations, I'd gladly do it...but that type of thing exceeds that which my medical advisors allow me to do in my dotage....

If only it hadn't been so windy on my last trip to Vegas, I'd be able to tell you what it was like - although like RZ, I would have to swallow hard to drop that much on such a quick ride. The Interpreter
On virtually every trip I have ever made to Vegas, it's been windy...very windy. The first time I was there, it was too windy to ride the then existing coaster atop the Stratosphere. The second time, thankfully, it was not. mikejenkins1
Now they have Diamondback Cam, Front Gate Cam and new the Fox 19 Cam on the web cam page. So guess we only get to see a long distance shot of WindSeeker now.
XGatorHead 8904
Holy Freefall, Batman! I just watched the Sky Jump video on Stratosphere's website. Some of you know that one of my greatest fears is "unsupported" heights, and that's why I consider SkyFlyer to be the scariest ride in the park... but I love doing it anyway! Sky Jump would be much worse than that! I think I would still do it, but I would have to think long and hard about it and try not to chicken out at the top. I agree with others though, the price tag is more than I would spend... unless I won big at the casinos! Don't see that happening though since I'm not a big gambler. I set a limit to spend there and stick to it. If I don't win in that amount of money, oh well...
74Gibson
One word describes my thoughts about Sky Jump...FUN. I can't imagine dropping a bill on it though. Too rich for my tastes. Gator, awesome choice for #100. I went with Wildcat for #50... It was my first GCI so I started with their first. The funny thing is when I got back from the trip I realized that I had forgotten a ride on my list (darn carnival coaster) and Hershey's boomerang was actually my 50th. Not impressive. Luckily I had a CP coaster down twice...Phew
Creed Bratton
Apparently there is a Dinosaurs Alive Camera now! Edit: Looks like they are either trying to focus it or move it to look at WindSeeker. The Front Gate cam has been shifted too!
Erosarrow05
I can tell you first hand... Skyjump at the Stratosphere is worth every cent... its just as thrilling as skydiving! And to whoever said they were tight with their money, just a reminder - you only live once, and you never know when life might throw you a curve ball that would prohibit you from ever doing certain experiences ever again. Besides that, you can't take your money with you when your time here expires... (and that is really some first hand advice)

mikejenkins1
So it appears that WindSeeker has sat non-running for a week or so now. Do they first test it here and then call in the inspector or what? I agree from this viewpoint it will be a bit until it is running. I know that CP is moving along but will miss their opening as well. Wonder if Canada's Wonderland will be first. They have been way ahead. Would/Could they be the first park?
AZ Kinda Guy
Maybe they should have went with the Funtime Starflyers after all...
mikejenkins1
Well was thinking about KI today and wondered if they were open tonight. Wow they are now open on Friday's 10 - 10. Checked the site web cams and it is dead there. Wish I could be there and get a ride fest going. Well maybe take a 1/2 day next week. CoastersRZ
Just like Shoot the Rapids was supposed to be open by Memorial Day, right? I know when I got to Kings Island tonight after work, and finally made it over to WindSeeker, there was a crew of people still working, many of them up in the ride gondola. And this was probably around 7pm or so. Hopefully, they can get the ride up soon! I know I can`t wait to ride it. It really looks impressive when riding the Red Raver in the pre dusk hours too, even with just the tower lights on and the lights on the actual gondola off! Avatar
Last Saturday night Indyguy4KI and I took a night ride on Vortex while the lights were on WindSeeker. When we were coming out of the second back to back loop the track goes up for a short bit. The beauty of it is as you go up at that point there is a direct unobstructed view of WindSeeker tower and it gives the illusion that you are on track to ascend to the top of WindSeeker. I must say I will be taking more night rides on Vortex now as I thought it was pretty awesome seeing WindSeeker like that. Indyguy4KI looked at me afterwords and stated "I wonder if when they planed WindSeeker, if they lined Vortex up that way".

If that was not intentional, it is pretty awesome that it worked out that way.

Vortex
I saw a video of WindSeeker at Canada's Wonderland running. It was about half way up the tower and the seats where turning. No one was on the ride.
