The third picture looks like the empty grass area between EuroBobbles and the bathrooms. It's kinda sad that I can guess the location by the bottom of a fence and grass.... :P

I think...the fence has been removed so the crane can be moved in. The thrill of watching a crane erect steel is returning hahaha

Edit: And I find it kinda odd that the website is being changed....at 9:30 on a Friday night!

Also the fence in the third and newest picture appears to be the fence in the spot of the former Laser Tag Dome.

I do not believe there was a gap anywhere in this fence, meaning the hole in the newest picture was recently added. A hole would typically be added to gain access through the fence, for construction- or whatever other reason- on the other side.

I don't think it's the same fence... look at the scale of the tire tracks and leaves/debris compared to the width of the pickets. The fence in the photo almost looks like a dune fence to me, which could have been used to keep the wind away from the sand they would have used for the pavers. Just a thought...

I agree. But, you never know.

Maybe the return of The Demon! Gordon Bombay knows what I'm talking about. He posted a pic of an old Arrow Looper that is close to here at an abandoned amusement park.

Ha, indeed, I do know what you're talking about. That would be the "Afterburner" at the now closed Fun Spot park. Link here.

I don't think they'd do that though. As far as I know the people who own Fun Spot are still looking for someone to buy it/operate it. I think anyways. Haven't heard anything up there in awhile.

There's a reason those coasters disappeared from the bigger parks like Kings Island. They were quickly trumped by the likes of Vortex and such and I'm sure they have awful capacity aka they don't get a whole lot of people through the line. Would be cool to see it operate again. I think Jungle Jims should buy it and add it to their monorail.

I'm pretty positive it's the same fence. Not only is it supposedly in the same area that all this construction is happening, but if you count the number of rails between posts (like in this photo HERE), you can see that there are twelve rails. If you look at the teaser photo, it appears as though a post was removed. Using the size of the rails on the remaining pieces of fence, it could be estimated that twelve rails fit between each set of posts... or, in simpler terms, the Laser Dome fence has the same design as the teaser photo fence. Add that to the construction location and the foreground of plain grass, it seems pretty possible it's the same fence.

A funny thing I found while on the page.

vghrn6.jpg

It says "Test, Don Test Run, Do not publish!" I guess Don was doing something to the page!

I will have to give him credit on this. This was more like something I want to see from the marketing director at Kings Island! This is Jeff Seibertesque, so kudos on that

funny video! But, as far as what is it, well, the slogan "Turn Back the Clock for Thrills" kind of leads me to believe that its something from the past. So, what I need to

spend some time thinking about is, what exactly from the past could it be? Something thrilling from the past returning to the park? One of the words that was audible

is "Longest", and another I think is "tallest" So, it must be something that was once a long and tall ride. So, what exactly could be a tallest ride from the past? What could

possibly be a ride like that where we turn back the clock for? I am totally stumped, I have to say. I guess we will find out what thrill we will be turning back the clock on

this coming Friday, March 18th! I just can't believe for as long as I've been at Kings Island that I can't even think of what he could be talking about! Hmmmm........

"Turn the clock back on thrill" could as well refer to older types of rides. Such as; a simple wooden coaster, mine train, looping coaster, etc. Or, as everybody else has explained millions of times, it means it will be themed to something from the past.

i have heard that a park in chins is getting the worlds longest coaster in 2013, so could this be a expansion to SOB?

kids have to grow up...

Whose chins are getting this coaster? Perhaps that person should get that goiter checked...... ;)

I think this weekend would be a great time for a certain someone to take a flyover of Kings Island. ;)

*cough* Monroe *cough*

Who's to say he hasn't already done so or not? Besides why would Monroe want to divulge what he might or might not have seen during this possible flyover? That kind of information might or might not ruin Don's possible fun with all of you, or not, if Don is actually having fun doing what he could possibly be doing or not. Besides, this thread has been an interesting read during a slow time that Monroe has been cherishing...or not.

Terpy how do you do that without getting a headache?

And FOFreak you should take some thing for that cough and get some rest would you.

2011 is Kings Island's 40th season. 2012 will be the 40th birthday which begins the 41st season. [quote name='Brian5475E' timestamp='1299702006' post='418258

Remember 2012 is KI's 40'th. So this is going to be something big along the line of a park expansion or new coaster.

What is the sound of one hand clapping?

If a Terp doesn't post (nearly at all) in a certain thread, does that mean anything? And would a post like this mean anything? Or not?

Terp, letting certain things fly right over...

Could it be a version of the Gondola Baskets that used to fly about I street, maybe now it could be Soaring Eagle Zip Lines. Look it up online, easy to put together and though it doesn't fit the red outline maybe it could be part of the Expansion. The zip lines could be fast, cheap, and easy to install for flying over some themed area of dinos.

^Although I think that's about as likely as Kings Island getting a version of Cinderella's Castle, I personally would like a ride like you describe!

All that depends on when it is coming. If it is for 2011, which it seems, a coaster of any kind has to be out the question, unless there has been some serious secret construction going on.
