  • Well its been a fun one.. So long Starting to Decode 2014!

  • You know, I chuckle at this thread. The more I read it... which is pretty much daily now... the more I become amused. Why? It's a near carbon copy of about a dozen other threads related to KI throu

For those waiting for when we'll announce what we're building for the future, you might want to grab yourself a Snickers bar. It's going to be awhile. We still have the majority of the 2013 season

Why did they say there weren't any wing- riders on the menu at any Cedar Fair parks then?
Just to keep it hushed?

Guess we will find out for sure on Thursday! But I also think it's silly for Cedar Fair to beat it's own record, esp at a park that is also in Ohio, and it's Flag Ship Park!

'Lorem ipsum, etc.' has been standard filler text for a long, long time. Don't read anything into that. This layout is probably the basic framework for the pages to come, but using old data to make sure the layout and links all work properly. The only real work I see here that won't be used later are the spoofs of 'The Bat' that would not take terribly long to produce. The blueprints, on the other hand, would have taken a insane amount of work for an outsider to produce, and quite a large amount of work even for an insider. My feeling is that the prints are real, and this early release of 'The Bat' is a little silt to muddy the water for a few days.

UPDATE: That link now takes you to the "Social Networks" page...

I think it was just a test....and nothing more.

I'm with thedevariouseffect. The logo certainly looks real, but most of the text and all of the photos/renderings were placeholders. The purported opening date was "April 27, 2014" - a Sunday.

The few ride details ("tallest wing coaster", etc) shown are likely to be placeholders as well. Sites like this get designed months in advance, often before final copy is available. We'll find out what "The Bat" - or whatever name is being resurrected - is on Thursday.

Clearly, this incomplete site should never have been pushed to a production web server. (Surely Cedar Fair would know by now that there are enthusiasts somewhere reloading URLs like visitkingsisland.com/2014 and visitkingsisland.com/Banshee every 20 minutes...)

That is a whole lot of work to do to fake it.

Actually it's not.
About as much work it takes to whip up fake prints.

Or were they real.......?

Sorry Double post. :(

Standard fake Latin "dummy text" used for testing the design and layout of a website or other print media. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorem_Ipsum for more info.

Good point...maybe he meant for 2013 without specifically saying it...kinda how Don said there may not be a day this summer for an announcement and to find out he literally meant day time. That's my guess.

I had to use that when I took a class where you had to type in the code so that way the picture would show up. It's how web designers put photos and text in a website before it's released.

The thing is.....IT JUST GENERATED MORE INTEREST IN THIS PROJECT!!!!......They don't need to advertise anything, because you guys just pushed the mystique of this coaster way up on the list for those who are interested. None of the information has been OFFICIALLY released about anything......just speculation!!!

If this is a wingrider, I am kind of indifferent. I'm not excited about it, but I'm also not mad, bro.

If (and that's a big if) this ride turns out to be named The Bat, inevitable confusion will arise from the general public when they hear about The Bat of 30 years ago.

Either way, I'm pumped!

Not to mention all of the people saying that people died on the original 30 years ago...

My mom argues me up and down that people died and I just shake my head...

Does anyone have the link to that fake logo? I was at work.

Look at page 388.

I hope YOU don't shake in ignorance

If we go ahead and assume those there stats are legit, If I'm not mistaken, that basically confirms the blueprint is legit as well.

If they're really trying to trick us, at least they're consistent.

I would think that KI would have responded in some way if it wasn't a mistake. They seem to own things that come out into the public if they are meant to be a diversion!

I think this is a diversion because they have Gatekeeper as the layout. I do like the design of the logo though. ;)
