Starting to Decode 2014

The pillars/footers by Adventure Express are from King Cobra.

I'm surprised no one mentioned this, but could the signs also have some significance in reference to Wolf Pack? Perhaps the new attraction(s) will play off that somenow?

Also, I don't think SOB took up any of that spot highlighted in the photo. It is probably impossible to bring up a comparison shot as SOB would have left that spot hidden from that angle in years past.

Look at the KK footprint - too far over. The tall pillars easily seen from AE are the monorail.

I can assure you that those footers are not from the monorail and were infact from KK.

Thank you for the photo Silver2005. You can see the footers that we are talking about in that picture if you look close enough (3rd support from the right after completing the turnaround).

We were in line for AE on Saturday and the guy in front of me saw those and said "Those are new". I corrected him and told him those are left over from King Cobra, to which he responded, "Oh yeah, I forgot about that ride."

Dare-to-fly, you had me questioning myself since you're usually better than that! ;)

Has anyone brought up the possibility that they will use SOB's station for the new coaster? (If there is one)

I mean it would seem odd to me if the only reason they kept that was for wolfpack.

What happened to the former Crypt building? The Enchanted Theater? The second theater in Action Theater?

I just looked at this...

http://rcdb.com/11058.htm

and this...

http://www.tv2oj.dk/artikel/162331:Oestjylland--Danmarks-laengste-rutsjebane

This is the kind of ride I mentioned many posts back. It takes up room, is terrain-based, and would be a good fit for KI. Now, if this were to actually become a KI attraction, I would expect it to be much, much longer and much, much faster - although the faster part would require different trains rather than the ATV's currently on the track in Denmark.

Once. Or, twice...

That would be cool, nice little ride.

Could the haunted theme be in reference to the Demon that used to run the land over there?

Sorry Hank, but this looks like Backlot Stunt Coaster on steroids

Except this one actually looks enjoyable. Rather than launching into a grey-out right out of the gate like BLSC does.

I'm not sure I would be satisfied with the capactiy of a ride like that.

The idea is a terrain-hugging coaster, a la Maverick and Cheetah Run, only longer and faster.

Hummmmm - terrain hugging - just like a big wooden coaster at the park who's son used to take up the area we're discussing.

Maybe an Intamin launch coaster like Cheetah Hunt, Maverick, ISpeed or Formula Rossa. Make a reference to the Screamin' Demon... call it Speed Demon.

IndyGuy4KI interviewed Don and Im pretty sure I heard him say "Sooner than later". Im wondering if somethings going in TA old location that will be ready by Haunt?

Then why wouldn't they have started their construction sooner rather than later? It seems like they are being all willy nilly with their construction by just showing signs of footers, and some land clearing. Who knows what those footers will be for, as it can be a lot of things. Suspicions of activity going on are confirmed with the teaser sign.

("-Oh is it opening day already? Well gee whiz, we had just started working on the SoB/TA site. What a coi-wink-a-dink")> B)....::proceeds to whistle::

When I first saw this I just thought they were trying to get some publicity out of the SoB's demolition. Maybe a reference to that Ghost Hunters show (which was crap)
But a second look, and it really sounds like a teaser for something new. I know that's already been established, but its definitely not nothing.

Beat me to it. :)

I mean, way to early, really, to say "this is it", but if...and if...the "evil" conotation of the wording on the sign is a clue, this certainly fits.

Banshee...too "risque" in 1996, but OK in 2014. :)

It also has the correct delegation of use.

That is a great find. And if the sign on the fence was indeed a clue, it fits the "mysterious and bone-chilling screams" and "evil phenomenon" keywords. In legend, a Banshee wails nearby if someone is about to die. There are particular families who are believed to have Banshees attached to them, and whose cries herald the death of a member of that family. I would really fit if the rehauled Action Zone into a "Haunt-ish theme", but I don't think that's probable.

Back whenever Mantis was announced at Cedar Point in 1995, it was originally going to be named Banshee. But within days after the announcement Cedar Fair decided it was ghastly and went the more politically correct route and changed the rides name.

But what I find interesting about the whole "Banshee" controversy is that Holiday World, one of the most family friendly parks in the industry, had a Chance Flying Star ride named Banshee in 1986. Before finally retiring the ride in 2002.
