CoastersRZ Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 It looks like they took the fence down next to the Ice Scream Zone. At least temporarily anyway. They assembled the big red crane today. I think they actually started yesterday. 2
fanofFirehawk Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Maybe not the highest, but thing is going to be MASSIVE!!! I mean it is occupying all of that space where Son of Beast once stood?
UnrealNightmare Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Not it isn't it's only occupying a very small portion of the land that Son of Beast took up. 2
fanofFirehawk Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 No sorry I meant "all of that space COMMA where Son of Beast" I guess that is still a little fuzzy, but I meant regardless it is going to be massive, it is still occupying quite a a lot of space that Son of Beast once occupied. 1
coasterfanatic83 Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 I can't remember if this had been made official yet, but Kings Island just stated on their Facebook page that there will not be sand quieting Banshee as she flies through her course. It's in the comments on this photo. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152128621278368&set=a.226729858367.174830.155893938367&type=1&theater Also, for entertainment purposes, there are some pretty good comments in there. 7
GamesAndRides Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Banshee First Track in Place ^-^. But It does look like Its part of the transfer track though. 2
medford Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 yes, or so I've read on here; never inspected the inside of the track personally.
MantisMan Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Great news about the sand......can't wait to hear her scream!! 6
KI FANATIC 37 Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 That's great! This baby will be loud! Opening day can't get here fast enough! 4
Existential Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Good to know about the sand. Now all we need is a giant screen along the graveyard sections (not white...but blended) that digitally projects the Banshee once in a while flying by the coaster.
Existential Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Or the holagram tech they have been using on stages.
sheikra_rocks Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 On a related note. As we boarded Adventure Express yesterday, King Cobras footers were being removed. Photos, or it isn't true. It's getting old please stop. Excuse you! What's getting old? I only made one post in response to the footers being removed, and even used a smiley to show that I was kidding around. Don't tell me to stop. I will go all Madea on you if it happens again. 10
Kat Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 I seriously can't wait until Saturday to see the progress that has been made! 1
PyroKinesis Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 No sand is fantastic news. B&M coasters always sound great when they aren't muted. 1
Shawn Meyer Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 I can tell Mantis doesn't have sand in it either. That thing is the loudest on that side of the park at Cedar Point. 3
Fire-Beast-OF FEAR Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 For me, B&M's have very few points against Intamin. BUT THE ROAR! When I walk past Mantis and hear that ear deafening scream that ride makes at only 60 MPH and across the Midway Millennium Force has that fwish at 93 MPH if you try to listen. Really hope Banshee has a Mantis-like roar appropriate for the ride. Diamondback was quite the let down in the roar category.
PKIVortex Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Diamondback does not have sand. It roared when it first opened, but do to complaints the wheels were changed and that's why it's not as noticeable now. 4
The Interpreter Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 That is what I thought. And if Banshee uses the same type wheels, it won't roar either. Given the proximity to Kings High School and Great Wolf Lodge, I'd not expect a loud roar. 6
UnrealNightmare Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 How many operating days and how many school days fall on the same day for the parks? And I remember Son of Beast being very loud as well.
xXDrummerKiDXx Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Was Son of Beast's chain as loud as it was before closing?
Colonel_SoB_fan Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 I can tell Mantis doesn't have sand in it either. That thing is the loudest on that side of the park at Cedar Point. Listen to Kumba at Busch Gardens. 5
KI FANATIC 37 Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Here just listen to how loud it was. This video makes me sad..... 4
The Interpreter Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Don't be sad. Be happy about tomorrow. The best days are a comin', comin' around the bend.... 7
YoungStud Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Diamondback does not have sand. It roared when it first opened, but do to complaints the wheels were changed and that's why it's not as noticeable now. Is the wheels the reason the train shuffles?
diamonbackandbeastlover Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 I go to kings and there are very few day I think just at the very end of the year where the parks open. I don't even think that you would be able to hear it from kings...
