Kat Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 holy cow!!!! that's serious progress!!! By the way, in response to whomever asked when the shadows would be installed, it looks like they've installed numerous shadows today as well!!! 13
LoraX Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 It sucks that I've been too slammed at work to even get to watch any of this the past several days. That is truly one beautiful ride. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 5
sikkinixx99 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Amazing job by the construction crew today in this harsh weather!! I'm gonna say the ride will be constructed tomorrow Davidw is there 4/4 left now? 1
davidw Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Crew was very busy today. Five supports and five pieces of track installed today. Link to gallery 19
medford Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Assuming decent working weather conditions, they could be done laying out track by the end of this week. Doesn't look like we'll have ideal working conditions, at least early morning over the next couple of weeks, but they've worked in worse, so we shall see. Thanks for all of your updates davidw, they really add to the construction progress and understanding what they've been doing. 4
TheCrypt Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Looks sort of cluttered to me. I'm having mixed emotions about what that corner of AZ will look like (or what I think it will look like) from the ground.
elyk Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I expected Banshee to go further back into SOB's old land. I wonder what they could do with all that extra land. Maybe for 2015 we'll see an expansion with some new flats. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free 2

steveinphoenix Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Looks like all that's left is the approach to the final brake run. I also noticed there are no pieces left in the hold area......it will be interesting to see them fit that very last piece in. 3
The Interpreter Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 It's a B&M. It should fit perfectly. Arrows frequently had to be bent into place. 14
steveinphoenix Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I have been in the construction/design business a long time...and it still amazes me how precise the surveyors and concrete guys get their part done so that all those numerous one-of-a-kind support and track pieces in such complex shapes on a varying grade all fit just right.....absolute teamwork and flat out know how and experience to pull that off....KUDOS to the entire construction crew. 17

I think all the pieces have been delivered. 3

Gplez90 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Noting the incredible process we saw today, we may very well have a Banshee by tomorrow evening! 5
sheikra_rocks Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Does anyone else feel like that inline should be through that vertical loop, ala keyhole element? 8
trevor75 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Does anyone else fell like that inline should be through that vertical loop, ala keyhole element? Yes I did fell like that, then picked myself up and dusted myself off and decided to feel different. LOL 8
TombRaiderFTW Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 ...Yep. A heartline roll on a B&M Invert looks just as weird (in the best way possible) as I thought it would. Is it April yet?! 6
TheBEASTunchained Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 A look inside the Banshee station.... (Photo Courtesy of Kings Island) 19

Kat Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Latest photo from Don Helbig @KingsIslandPR oh wow.... that is an amazing photo!!! Very very nice view of the batwing! (yes, I said batwing even though I will probably always regard it as a pretzel loop ) 4

No grammar police here, not by a long shot! Just had this vision of falling while reading that and couldn't resist. All in good fun, no ill will intended.
AZ Kinda Guy Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I would suspect we've seen the last of the circular "increte" Action Zone insignia. I hope it still floods in the middle! 3
Adventuro Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 The station looks much bigger than I thought it was going to. It's all coming into perspective. 4
Nick_Plummer Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 The station looks much bigger than I thought it was going to. It's all coming into perspective. Indeed it is, I feel after Banshee is totally completed (track, station, etc.) the cam will shut off or be pointed at something else while AZ is being rethemed.
Adventuro Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 That's what I was thinking. Or they will conveniently move the camera from The Eiffel Tower slightly right so you cannot see Action Zone, but still see Banshee. But they can't totally hide cause we can still see from the road. 1
TombRaiderFTW Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I don't know why they would bother to move or cover the camera when redoing Action Zone in 2014 when they didn't bother to move or cover the camera when redoing Rivertown in 2009. But maybe that's just me; I also didn't see any conspiracy in the new Banshee camera being covered by Haunt decorations when the wind blew. 3
