shawnofthedead
1985 White Water Canyon, a $4 million rapid river ride, led the park to a then-record attendance high of 2,981,861 visitors. The ride, specifically designed for Kings Island by Intamin, Inc. of Zurich, Switzerland, drenched each six passenger raft on its 1,680-foot-long channel through rapids, whirlpools, and geysers. Later, coin-operated "geyser" machines were added to allow spectators the opportunity to soak riders too. Signs at the beginning of the ride queue line read, "You WILL get wet on this ride Didnt know Kings Island had an Intamin.

TombRaiderFTW
Nope. Viking Fury is Intamin. I *think* Ocean Motion at Cedar Point is a HUSS.
YoungStud
Its cool that an intamin spikes attendance, a water ride to boot. Think what a intamin giga would do. Instead of a bare parking lot in the mornjngs for ert, the lot would be packed to ride the latest and the greatest.

I as well as most everyone else will ride it. The manufacturer does make a difference with how safe I feel while riding. A giga from any manufacturer would increase attendance. I am sure if you ask the average coaster rider, they wouldn't know who built what.

The big orange blob is a possible station, and the green "strait" section is a lift hill. The Blue and Red are different layouts, and the white signals the end of the ride.
RollerNut
O.D. Hopkins builds rapids rides too and shoot the chutes. Arrow built shoot the chutes and flumes. KECO brought shoot the chutes rides from all three. Whitewater Falls at Carowinds is O.D. Hopkins while Whitewater Falls at Great America is an Arrow. Diamond Falls at KD and the one at CW, I cant remember who made them.

RollerNut
It would rather be damp from log flume than soaked from splashboats.

I am sure if you ask the average coaster rider, they wouldn't know who built what. From what I've experienced, Intamin's Rapids Rides seem to be the best. WWC and Kennywood's Raging Rapids are spectacular. Rip Roarin' Rapids at Carowinds (Built by the Kings Island Entertainment Company, no less) was quite a snorefest. Raging Rapids in Boulder Canyon at Holiday World was only marginally better. I do not know the manufacturer for the latter, but I surmise it isn't an Intamin. The boats are completely different. Either way, I found that at both Carowinds and Holiday Wprld, I escaped the respective rapids rides without so much as a droplet of water hitting me. Raging Rapids and WWC (both Intamins) are relentless in the soakage. And I'm no Intamin fanboy. I would rather ride an Arrow or a (non-hyper/Giga) B&M. But with the Rapids rides, I can say with certainty that Intamin is my current favorite. Its cool that an intamin spikes attendance, a water ride to boot. Think what a intamin giga would do. Instead of a bare parking lot in the mornjngs for ert, the lot would be packed to ride the latest and the greatest.Congo Falls is also an *INTAMIN* water ride. Ironically, the Arrow log flume across the park consistenly has longer lines than the Intamin. Hmm... Remember, wait times are not an indication of popularity. Though in this case, I think the Arrow flume probably gets more riders. It is undeniably a better ride on almost every count. I think Congo Falls could do better in the water park personally. The capacity is great and I think people would be more willing to ride if they are already in a swimsuit.
YoungStud
The arrow log flume allows children 36" with an adult or no height requirement at all with an adult don't remember.....People ride it with their children in Planet Snoopy and has awful capacity.
AgentSoB
Also from personal experience, I believe you get much more wet from the flume rather than the falls. This was even more true when the dang elephant was there. Congo Falls you can escape without wet shoes by putting them under the seat in front of you (minus the front seat). To me it's perfect amount of wet, as a majority of the splash goes outward. The only way you get real wet is if the geysers hit you, which rarely happens. I honestly suggest it as a way to cool off without getting drenched!
Tanna
I enjoy the log flume- that and Boo Blasters is the only kiddie ride I can get the nerve to climb on. I agree with AgentSOB that it's the perfect amount of wet to cool off, without having to walk around the park with a wet butt all day. I once put my arms up on the ride, whooping like it was a mighty fierce event, and some little girl behind us kept giving us a chagrined expression, like we were dolts. I'd love to try more of the kiddy rides, but for that, I'd have to borrow a kid- I'd feel silly going on alone, and that man I married can't squeeze into Woodstock Express.
jdf21972
The only way to truly get soaked is standing on the observation bridge at Congo falls to the right hand side and you will be soaked from a rush of water when the boat hits the bottom of the hill. IndyGuy4KI
I don't know, a few of us got pretty wet from CF last Sunday who sat in the front seat!
jcgoble3
If you're REALLY lucky on Congo Falls, the splash will bounce off the bottom of the bridge and come back down on top of you. Then you really get drenched. I've ridden this at least a couple dozen times and only had it happen to me once.

Tr0y
It would be convenient If Kings Island was to get a Intamin giga, it wouldn't need to travel to Cedar Point to get my fix.

Honestly, I don't see KI going with Intamin if they added a Giga anyway.Who would you see them using if they were to add a giga. D H Morgan defunct, B&M supposedly only built Leviathan as "favor" and then there is Intamin. I would personally be somewhat disappointed if they didn't use Intamin although with Steel Dragon and Leviathan I'm going off video and pics alone. But do you think another manufacturer would jump into the gigas?
