CP&LERR Fan
For me anything but snoopy, I've seen him so many times at Cedar Point and Kings Island. Anything you think would be a theming Cedar Fair can use?

HarvestmanMan
I'd like to see a section of the park themed around cheese. That's just me, though.

Ride On_17
2 different areas of the park: Intamin World and B&M Land. That way I'd stick to B&M Land and would be able to get multiple rerides on smooth, fun coasters while YoungStud and all his Inta-fans are stuck waiting in line in Intamin World since all the rides are broken down.

One thing millenium force has that Diamondback doesn't, is in its name FORCE!
elyk
Honestly, the current sections of the park are well located, they just actually need to be "themed."
upstop
I'd like to see a section of the park themed around cheese. That's just me, though. Believe it or not...there was a section themed around cheese..... When the skyride closed, the Octoberfest station was converted into a cheese and wine tasting attraction..... Actually, if the park would just put back the signs that indicated the beginning of each themed area that would be a start.

YoungStud
I don't understand how b&m fanboys can love a coaster cause their reliable. I asked single rider bob at cp once while he was riding mf over a hundred times in a day if he would do his thing on a b&m and he said no, it would be to boring. The only theme I would ljke is a racing theme like i305 and ttd.

westcoaster
Employee dressed to that part of the park, bring back the theme in theme park, but oh Kings Island is an amusement park, and not a theme park. so I guess that is how the cookie has crumbled no need for them in Amusement/water park right? Captain Nemo
As a former worker of what once was one of the best themed rides, Tomb Raider, I know the inner workings (or lack thereof) of Kings Islands unfortunate ways of up-keeping theme. I would love to see more theme at KI I just worry about the outcome of it in the years after it opens. I also worry about the theme KI says they will implement on Banshee.

But I guess I would go to B&M land when I bring my children with me. Might be just me but I rather wait 2 hours for Millenium or Maverick than wait 20 min for Diamondback or Gatekeeper.
Ride On_17
Don't get me wrong, I really love Intamin coasters but I just hate how they go down so frequently.
fanofFirehawk
Okay, okay... I enjoy both companies, I also really enjoy other companies like arrow and couple of those woodie manufactures. Can we just stop with the B&M vs. Intamin thing. Please! I makes me want to throw up and leave these forums. I know it is really easy to make fun of Youngstud, but just stop, and as for you bubbles (last time I swear) dude we get you like Intamin. Does that mean we aren't allowed to enjoy Diamondback or Gatekeeper. Yes, Intamin does push the limits and offers great, intense rides. But that does come with a cost more down time, which is fine for awhile, because I go quiet a lot. Although regular park guests you save and save there money and Christmas Bonus to go just for that one day and have the best day of the year, really they should be able to ride all of the rides they paid for. I was pretty PO'd because I didn't get to ride the dragster 4 trips in a row. B&M does offer a lot thrill for many people when I stand at the exit of Diamondback or Gatekeeper, I see everyone smiling, some even jumping right back in line. YoungStud, you look like a bigger guy, taller and athletic so if I have my seventh grade physics are correct you probably need more forces then what I would as a smaller 12 year old to experience the same thing. For any ride manufacture it does take some skills to design a 300+ ft. Roller Coaster that doesn't kill everyone of the first drop or bank, but still push the limits so you still are being held in by a tiny lap bar. One of Intamin's Head designers Werner Stengel is a pretty smart guy. He has a (honorary) Doctorate from Gothenburg University. B&M does have issues but they aren't all that bad, you can't blow them up and try and compare them to some of the Intamin's mistakes. Can we just stop the bickering about the two Companies, grab a snickers, and enjoy the freaking ride!

RailRider
I would prefer beautiful landscaping, cleanliness, and well kept attractions over an elaborate theme. I look at a park like Dollywood, not really a heavily themed park but very beautiful and enjoyable to walk around. Outside of Disney and other major year round parks I don't think a seasonal park can keep a theme up and running because that is not where their main focus is.

MadMaverick
Don't get me wrong I enjoy rides from both B&M and Intamin I just prefer one over the other. I enjoy Diamondback and Gatekeeper just not in the same way. Intamins mechanical problems and down time is greatly exaggerated on here but I'm sure B&M fans probably feel like their forclessness is exaggerated. It's all personal preference.

Beautiful landscaping, cleanliness and well kept attractions are theming in my book. Take a look at any themed land at Disneyworld...the outside of a building and what surrounds it, is just as important as what's inside the building.
Thrill_Biscuit
I think that the whole concept of theming has kinda died out in our public psyche. There's not much mass appeal for it, I think. It worked back in the 70s and 80s, when there wasn't such instant access to every kind of information right at our fingertips. It's like how when, once Americans landed on the moon and came back safely, the public quickly grew bored and moved on... to disco... Anyway, my point is, we live in a world where nothing is left up to the imagination anymore. It's all either blurted out in full detail, or shown without warning or redaction right up into our faces (watch any public, prime-time tv program these days...) And what's not covered by the broadcast media is instantly available to anyone on the internet. No need for imagination, or to let curiosity simmer a bit in the magical emotion of wonder. Nope. Theming seems somehow silly in this electronically enlightened world. Sad.
Voicetek
I talked about this in another post, but it's been a while so I'm going to talk about it again I'm not saying this should happen, could happen, or would happen. It would be very expensive, especially in licensing alone. However, I think theming kiddy land to Nintendo Land (or something similar) would be the coolest thing ever! Imagine Boo Blasters converted to a Super Mario dark ride. The castle becomes Bowser's Castle complete with theme music from the various games, and animatronic Koopas, Goombas, etc. You could still make it interactive, you could shoot targets and gain power ups from the game. All this would conclude with a high tech, state of the art animatronic of Bowser himself. Defeat him and win the game! What an amazing experience this could be! Also, you would have the other Nintendo properties as well so you could theme some of the smaller rides. I feel this would introduce a wide variety of colorful and appealing characters and bring something to our park that is not seen anywhere else. It would truly be a unique land and something everyone, from kids to adults, could relate to and have fun with! Hey, I can dream can't I?

thedevariouseffect
I don't exagerate downtime...they do go down quite a bit...my year Dragster had more downtime than uptime for the first two months easily, July wasn't too bad, but Oct. wasn't dragster's month at all.. The only two rides with as much downtime for us was Maggie's lift motor blew twice, and Iron Dragon's chain lift on first hill broke...Next to that, maybe Gemini for weather..
