rlentless
New speed boat ride concept by Errel McKoy who originally introduced the "Great American Scream Machine". http://www.dallasnews.com/business/columnists/cheryl-hall/20150925-retired-state-fair-ceo-uses-coaster-background-to-develop-speedboat-thrill-ride.ece
The Interpreter
...the wooden one. Waaaay too much complexity. Cedar Fair, for one, is looking for uptime, reliability, ease of maintenance and proven rides. INTAMIN? Can you say Shoot The Rapids?
bkroz
I have a feeling Movie Park Italy would've jumped on this and given it a nice, unlicensed 1980s film name. But soft! They already have a dangerous, waiver-worthy high speed boat ride based on Nightrider. It takes place in the auxiliary waterways behind (and the watery stage of) the park's Rambo water stunt show.
Tr0y
I can see this being installed at a Disney Park, and it will be very reliable and a huge success.
calakapepe
It's almost like they were trying to get Cedar Fair's attention showing those clips of Cedar Point.
The Interpreter
Almost? I'd bet a cookie that was exactly the intention.
CoasterKrazy
Looks like this is an attempt to get back in the good graces of Cedar Fair from nearly all parties. The Images Gallery on Interlaced Productions' website exclusively features photos from the old Iron Dragon midway show at Cedar Point.
Tr0y
I do hope that one day Cedar Fair will return to Intamin, they make incredible thrill rides.
RollerNut
Looks like it would take a good chuck of land.
calakapepe
Id rather Intamin work on reliability issues before they try something so innovated. It's very frustrating sometimes getting in line for the same ride only to have it break down on you several times..
Ride On_17
I do have to give credit to Intamin for being industry innovators. No, their rides may not have perfect reliability, but I admire their willingness to take risks when it comes to developing unique and groundbreaking rides. I personally think this is a really cool concept, especially with how non-riders and riders alike can be impressed with it. While I doubt it will be Cedar Fair, I do hope a park installs one of these in the near future.
IBEW_Sparky
This looks just as perfectly reliable as Top Thrill Dragster... oh, wait a minute.Cedar Point already has a Dragster H2O in Soak City, and one that operates properly every time, provided the operator (guest going down the slide) does not take the ladder back down.

The rides are great for gettin people in, but when they don't deliver consistently, they're not going to help with the frequent flyers.
IndyGuy4KI
Seems interesting to have LSM's underwater! Cool concept, but I would not see one of these going in at a bigger CF park, but maybe a smaller one. Edit: Corrected to LSM's.
FoF96"
They better hope no one goes in for loose items with those underwater...
calakapepe
Seems interesting to have LIM's underwater! Cool concept, but I would not see one of these going in at a bigger CF park, but maybe a smaller one. For the record, they are LSMsLinear Synchronized Motor
Oldiesmann
Certainly looks like an interesting concept, but who's going to buy something like that? It also seems quite complex, with all the motors and the turntables. I'd think that could be a major maintenance concern.
RailRider
Complex and most mechanicals that are in need of inspection and servicing are underwater. Drain and refill everyday? I wonder what is being done to mitigate the wake created from each pass. The water would get very choppy, which is a bad thing for speedboats and since this one is tied to a track something will have to give. The boat hull? Interesting concept but not the first side x side drag race concept. I don't think S&S ever had any takers on the Snow Shot
calakapepe
Yes.. and the dragster side by side type ride near Cincinnati was left as an empty lot many years ago. Not a new concept, new application. If it could be made to work well, and successfully installed somewhere, I think it would be fun to be on and it'd truly be a sight to see even.. esp. With the fire tail... who doesn't like fire? (At a safe distance)
IBEW_Sparky
I agree! I would be all for this at a park that would be 100% committed to maintaining not only the ride, but the rides theming aspects..... and the only group I confidently feel would do that is Disney. Certainly not FUN or... to a lesser extent.... SIX. And before anyone says "Mr. Ouimet is former Disney" I say.... exactly, FORMER Disney. Ive already seen at CP how little Disney influence in both appearance and guest service and care/effort crossed over.

calakapepe
There wasnt ever one in Cincy. Near, at Kentucky Kingdom.. I think during Six Flags days, but I'm not entirely sure. I can't seem to find of video of the ride. But it's the lot next to Thunder Run and it was a ride like this one. (which is also removed) https://youtu.be/RtrOe4sdiuI
