Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees

Not only would the orientation need to be incorrect, the scale would need to be incorrect as well. Unless they are planning on altering the reservoir and train quite a bit more than we originally thought.

I think the scale is right. The abutment boxes seen on the plans may actually sit in the bank of the reservoir. The only place I think the train track may be an issue would be at the coaster station area. But, even that I'm not sure of. I think this ends up being like Banshee where we go up to the second story to board and just bridge over the train tracks for the queue.

Maybe Don will get bored tonight and post his copies of the plans on here and clear this up.  :D

To stay within the tracks, either the scale is off or the location of the abutment is off. Using the scale we have to work with, the turnaround down past WWC within the train puts the "south" abutment in the middle of the reservoir.

Don is clearly enjoying himself. He had that look that says, "I know more than you." Basically just said they'd have an announcement later lol.

Bunch of hype for no new info = successful

Edit: I noticed the web page they showed when they interviewed Mr. Spiegel (so?) was GCI's.

What do we know...

Right now we know that Kings Island (Specifically Public Relations) has been posting pictures on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram teasing at the construction going on in Rivertown.

Last year (2015) during the off-season, the park tore down the Funnel Cake stand, and the old White Water Canyon entrance and since moved them under Diamondback's Lift/First Drop. 3-point shoot was also moved under Diamondback, as well as a new Rivertown game where you win by kicking a soccer ball into a goal.

A layout was leaked by Kings Island Expo in early June showing that the ride might possibly be a wooden roller coaster. Manufacturer? Unknown. What it does? Unknown. Name? Unknown.  The only thing we honestly know is what the layout will look like. We don't know what it's going to do, or where exactly it will be placed.

Gav... I'm sorry but if you have more detailed plans, those plans would've been posted by someone already. And if you did have more detail plans, how did you get them? Straight from the park themselves? Not likely... If you have more detailed plans those plans should already be in City Hall, whether they'd be in under-review, or final copy or anything. They should already be available.

Watch for falling trees my friends... they might by axed down... Best to go axe Don a question before the official announcement soon...

Their wooden coasters, though easily not entirely wood, still arent entirely steel. To call them steel is just as off as calling them wood.

Storm Chaser is entirely steel. And supposedly from these plans, it is showing a steel structure, and if it were to be an I-BOX with a steel structure, like Storm Chaser, that would be entirely steel.

I'm aware of their I-Box track being steel lol

I saw a key piece of information from the clearer images. The beams will connect to the footer in two separate distinct regions, not the 4 connects found for GCI's. The connections seem almost to be the connections found on Storm Chaser. Just my $.02

Are you looking at wooden structure or steel structure?

Since the written word in a Fanboy forum cannot convey whether or not a response is banter, serious inquiry, sarcasm, or otherwise, Im going to give the benefit of the doubt and calmly respond with a link to the story of the Mythical Tigris. https://sites.google.com/site/mythicalfables/religious-cultures/judaism/jewish-mythology/the-keresh-and-the-tigris-of-the-bei-ilai

I am not, and never did say, this IS going to be the name of said ride.... I said "consider".  I am looking at angles and doing mild research, like everyone else.  As a footnote, Griffin is also a hybrid Mythical feline creature.

Laying my odds on Lumberjack for a name at this point, but no proof.

That's my pick for a name too. It has a nice ring to it and fits with the area and the clues so far....plus, merchandising would be cool.

Also, I believe I was behind you in line for The Beast this morning. I was off today and decided to take advantage of the early ride time for the first time this season. Not such a great day for that, unfortunately.

 I didn't mean to come off as sarcastic; just having fun banter.  I'll read up on Tigris, which I'm glad you've shared with us!

Like I said when we all had that awesome conversation around appetizers and wings at RHOFG on opening day: "We're like a big family of Kings Island fans, and we sometimes go off on fun tangents in order to offset the sheer excitement, anticipation and anxious waiting for new news around exciting, new attractions here." From me, it will never be meant in a negative light towards anyone.

Was that you that left to go ride Flying Ace when I mentioned it was open?

Has anyone got/seen an upload of the interview today? Or know if it will be replayed? I am at the park so I couldn't record it.
