MaxxForce Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Today, Hersheypark announced their new for 2020 attraction, Chocolatetown! This new experience will feature shops, merchandise, restaurants, and of course, a B&M hyper. The site came with a timeline of Chocolatetown milestone dates, which will be posted below. What are your thoughts? http://www.hersheypark.com/chocolatetown/ Update: On January 9, Hersheypark added another page to the Chocolatetown site. The link is attached: http://www.hersheypark.com/chocolatetown/map.php Quote
CoastersRZ Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Looks like a lot of buildings. I really like the design of some of the buildings. Lots of wide open space. The entrance to Hershey always seemed very constricted and narrow. From what I can tell, there is no mention of the name of the coaster, other than that it is their "15th coaster." Quote
nhimes90 Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 This looks really nice. I wish KI would make more of a "Citywalk" in front of KI. Quote
SonofBaconator Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Chocolate hyper coaster which will essentially be the front gate coaster that the park lacks. Talking about the coaster, it looks like it'll take a lot of inspiration from Mako with a second half of twists, turns and a lot of flyovers and path interactions as opposed to older hypers. 1 Quote
teenageninja Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 The milkshakes at Hersheypark are incredible. 1 Quote
silver2005 Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 I'm kinda torn by this. I actually really, really like HP's entrance as is. However, I do agree it can be improved a little bit. I'd rather this have been a 2nd entrance than a re-vamp of the current entrance as I think HP really could use a 2nd. A new coaster is always welcome, and I'm glad HP is acquiring surrounding land to expand upon. It's been like pulling teeth for them. 1 Quote

Oldiesmann Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 I might have to make a trip back to HP in the coming years to see this. This is going to drastically change the entrance to HP, but it's for the good considering what a major park they are at this point. Quote
SonofBaconator Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 I like how parks are constantly trying to improve guest's experience within the park. The entrance looks extremely inviting and gives off a Cedar Fair feel as they have been adding front gate coasters to their parks in the more recent years. 2 Quote
CoastersRZ Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 Hersheypark is a park I would love to get back to sometime soon. I went there shortly before I started dating my wife, and she has never been there. It is definitely a fun place to visit (as is Dorney). 1 Quote
VekomaRulz Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 After visiting the park tonight, I can see why the new entrance is needed. It wasn't crowded at all (most waits for the coasters were 5 - 15 minutes except the coasters running 1 train like Great Bear) and getting there at opening, the line to get into the park was all the way to where the tram drop off is. It took 15 minutes which isn't terrible but on a crowded day it would probably take much longer. Quote
MaxxForce Posted December 9, 2018 Author Posted December 9, 2018 There's going to be another announcement about Chocolatetown in January! Who's excited? 2 Quote
