Vortex Removal Updates

I wouldn't say that. Physically, pretty much unless they plan to sell sections in the Emporium; but Vortex will always be in our memories and in YouTube POV's and reviews.

EDIT: I know this sounds cheese as heck, but its pretty much the truth.

I mean.......it will be gone forever. There is no other answer lol. A memory doesn't mean its still there.

It's all over with now. All we have remaining are the memories. Farewell and Godspeed Vortex. (via WeatherBug)

Can we quit with the whole “Kings Island owes us an explanation” B.S.? It’s starting to get annoying and making the rest of the coaster enthusiast community look like spoiled brats. Sheesh!     S

Have they removed the last piece yet? @Waltny

I’m up in Columbus for the day, at this point once it’s down and gone it will be the same image anyone can get for a while. I’ll probably swing by and check on it once I get back in town early afternoon.

According to Weatherbug, as of 11: 15 a.m., no. Last piece (or pieces, depending if they're cutting that last bit into sections) are still standing.

She is still standing but has been split into 2 sections24471D05-B479-4825-BB34-7FE5FD48D6B5.jpeg

0945 this morning. All major landmarks that can be seen outside the park look to be in place.

Such a drastic difference over the period of 1 month...

Truth. I wouldn’t say I’ve enjoyed seeing this coaster go down, but there is a closure that comes with it for me. While I’m sure better angled and more dramatic pictures will emerge from within the park soon, I did my part for the community with the resources available to me. Thanks to all who followed along on the Orion and Vortex journeys of 2019-2020 with me.

Also, along with the circling buzzard that I caught circling Vortex, I see a lot of images that have personnel on the second lift hill of Beast. Perhaps Beast got some extra TLC in that area.

From weatherbug, it looks like one of those 2 last pieces just came down!  The right hand side portion is all that is left.

The best part of the ride, is the last to go, it seems..

The double loops have already been removed though? :P

And so it ends.   Thanks again to everyone who is local to the park for providing updates over the last several weeks.

There won't be another coaster (good or bad) like Vortex.  She was one of kind.

Well, Vortex is officially down.

Wonder if we will get a video from the park...

Probably not

I feel like if Vortex was resurrected as a Giga coaster, its name would be "Gigatex" lol:D

Don't know why I felt like saying this, just figured people needed something to smile to considering today's developments.

I'm pretty sure its more like Beast accidentally ate Vortex in its sleep.

I'm hopeful to see closure and the park releasing a video within the next few days. I know the park is celebrating Orion's first test runs and achievements, but some closure is needed on Vortex still.

Just think... Orion tested while parts of Vortex were still standing tall.

I wonder if that’ll be a fun fact in the vein of:

When Star Wars was released, the guillotine was still being used in France.

or

Mammoths were still roaming the earth when the pyramids were built.

Son of Beast and Diamondback operated together for roughly 2 months. I always forget that fact.

I have a question. Will we walk by all season and look at the ravine, or will they put up a fence to block the ravaged area where the murder occurred? It would take a bunch if fence to hide the area.
