Hawaiian Coasters 325
Another thing I wonder. If you are required to wear them on rides, will they enforce it the way they enforce the phone thing where if they catch someone taking it off while on the lift, they stop the ride.

I’ll let security handle it, they’re trained for that, I’m not.

Not saying you would have some responsibility, just wondering what you would do. 1

FUN&ONLY!
I don’t see the point in arguing over masks. Yeah Kings Island will probably require masks, and yes they will probably have employees remind guest to wear masks. Whether you wear a mask religiously or laugh them off as a redundant safety measure, I think following park policy is the right way to go. Again, I think the park will try to allow guests to take breathers throughout the day, and I don’t think it should be a problem for even the biggest of mask haters. People who can’t listen to the simplest of instructions probably shouldn’t go to the park now or ever for that matter.

Keep in mind this started out talking about 16-year-olds enforcing rules even police departments cannot enforce. If you wanna throw people out for not wearing masks go ahead. It'll probably be on youtube when it happens.

If it is a situation where the guest becomes belligerent Mason Police can properly handle the situation. In the meantime security could shadow the perps and temporarily pause any services they attempt to utilize in the park. Now if I was feeling devious offering them a zen ride on Banshee and then stoping the train on the lift might be a non-violent way of deescalating the situation until the Police can arrive.

He could have refused to leave and Costco would just refund his membership on the spot and called the Police for trespassing as he was no longer a member. As many on here like to point out frequently, read the fine print on your Passholder agreement. CF could do something very similar. 1 hour ago, Shawn Meyer said: I feel like they would stop the ride more for a phone than a mask, but that's just my opinion. When releasing the restraints do all of them have to be released or can it be done selectively? Edit: Here is another tactic to encourage compliance. "Failure to wear a face cover may result in the forfeiture of all reserved ride times on our Virtual Queue System*" *If you choose to act like a juvenile we will treat you like one. Wouldn’t even have to slow down operations much. Bonus rerides until the Mason Police show up and cuff you right in the seat. With all the court costs and fines the perps would have to pay this could go a long way to making up the budget shortfall Mason and the county are facing. Win-win. chad_1138
Bottom line. Kings Island is private property that no one is being force to go to. If they require masks and you don’t want to wear one, then don’t go. I, for one, am happy to wear a mask to get to enjoy some coaster riding.

I am worried about people getting aggressive over the mask thing, because It is a divided subject hopefully like you say it isn’t horrible but I am worried that information won’t be spread and people will be ill informed and then we have to clean up the mess left behind. It really just depends how detailed they are about the policy. If it's "masks on at all times" I would almost guarantee there will be issues, whereas if it's "masks off on rides, walking the midway or eating" (aka common sense regulations) then I think there's less likely to be problems. I can see some difficult individuals causing problems. It will be difficult regardless to be honest. Also, masks that people will be wearing will not stop the spread. It will be very "half assed" and almost required just in order to check off a box. That is the problem I have with a lot of these rules. Masks are helpful to an extent, but when you are at an amusement park, you are gonna be in connect with A LOT of people and objects. ^^ exactly. Nobody's wearing an N95 mask to an amusement park. We normally wear surgical masks to run errands, but if masks are required and we come to the park I can promise we won't be wearing more than say a bandana.

Employees are wearing mask to prevent their droplets from going on others. Park patrons wear masks to keep their droplets from going on each other and park employees. A bandana covering your mouth and nose does quite a bit to help the spread.
