Gabe
The Indiana State Fair "Lite"event that is slated to run from 7/31-9/6 (rides and food) has been shelved. The Marion County (Indiana) fair is still slated to open this weekend and run for 11 days, though.

We all have opinions I will agree to disagree. And you are no different then the person who hides a zombie bite. A vaccine is for herd immunity for those who can't get a vaccine for medical reasons. Let me tell you about my buddy from the preschool I volunteer at, his name is Buddy*. Buddy has had a heart transplant and has since started to reject it. He is on immunity blocking drugs and the common cold could kill him. Buddy has been isolated with his mother as he can't even risk having a family member expose him, which means the last time he hugged his father or sisters was early March. We don't get vaccines or wear a mask for ourselves, we wear a mask and get vaccinated for Buddy and everyone else like him who want to be safe but can't and are counting on us to help keep them safe. I support your right to not get vaccinated, but if you choose to not take others health seriously, then please stay home to help keep those of us safe who are trying and doing our part. 8 2
FUN&ONLY!
In terms of a Kings Island associate testing positive, let’s give the park the benefit of the doubt. The employee could have been a maintenance worker, someone in a White Water Canyon outpost, a higher up worker who works in an office, a park sweep worker, or someone who was just starting and tested positive before even working for the first time. In short, the employee could have had like zero contact with other guests and employees, so it may not be a huge concern. Kings Island also has a ton of safety protocols in place, and maybe they are confident that the situation is under control. If the guy was working closely with other people, the park already probably has those employees getting tested and quarantined. If this guy only had contact with other employees who are now quarantined, and he did not have any contact with guests, Kings Island has no reason to believe any guests are at risk and ask them to check for symptoms. That being said, I do wish the park would at least notify us whether or not the employee had any contact with other associates or guests and inform us what guests might be at risk if at any risk. There is a decent chance this employee was isolated from others to begin with or at least just guests, but it would be nice for the park to let us know to be sure.
BeeastFarmer
So, it Is plainly stated that if you choose to partake in visiting KI, you assume the risk of being exposed to the virus. If you go to the store, you assume the risk, too. If this person who tested positive was following protocols, s/he was wearing a mask while on duty, which minimizes exposure to others via the expulsion of mucus or saliva. By screening employees, KI probably did the public a favor in getting this person isolated. If there is a reason to release details to people who may have been exposed to him or her, it will be done. They have a fine line to walk because they also have to follow privacy mandates in the workplace, and I am sure that the park medical folks were involved, so there is HIPAA compliance too. It is much more complicated than saying "A male working on Diamondback coaster tested positive for COVID 19 on 7-5-2020. If you rode this attraction between the hours of 10:00 and 19:00 on 7-5, please get tested." There are many layers to this cake.

IceePirate
I remember hearing about 4-5 days ago before I left the park that an associate from WWC potentially had covid, from this article, sounds like either they tested positive, or it was someone else. From what I know, the park had all of the associates they came in contact with self quarantine, so practically all of WWC is self quarantining now. I could be mistaken though, so don't take this as fact.

My friend lives in China and has been keeping me up to date and sending photos and links along the way. So let's compare how China and USA are dealing with contact tracing. You are required to have an app and submit all your data to this app that is tied to your ID card, where you live, where are you have been, etc. When you go into any store have to scan this to show them the details. Use a taxi, scan the code. In China there is no private data. Hundreds of people have been put into prison because of not accepting the isolation. The US would never do this. People claim big brother and what not, but the reality is, if you have a mobile device, you are already being tracked…. They all wear face masks in public. To go anywhere you need to go thru multiple checkpoints. Those people with arrows pointed to them are not police, they are temperature takers. Once you get past those checkpoints, you will come across thermal cameras at individual stores that will alarm if someone has a high body temperature: They are basically tracked of their every move and scan in every place they go and then their personal data is used to sort individuals into color-coded categories – red, yellow or green – corresponding to their health status and level of risk for COVID-19 based on where they have been. Some places will only allow you in if you are in the Green category. I doubt we would ever see that level of tracking here. But it would make it a lot easier to know who came into contact with someone.

The park has been and will be enforcing the policies set forth by their precautions. They have: A reservation time system that allows for a set number of individuals to enter the park at a predetermined time. They have social distancing on lines and rides. They have minimized interaction between guest and associate to minimize the chances of spread. They have set up temperature checks and cleaning procedures. They have a pre visit medical questionnaire. They have reduced capacity of dining facilities and arcades. They have set up markers to set up queue flow in regions of high congestion. KI has set up a comprehensive strategy to try to operate in light of a devastating pandemic. The park is determined to ensure safe and clean operations. They have been thorough in reminding guests to keep their masks on. There’s only so many ways one can instill urgency of using said masks before guests will become terrified or agitated. The smartest thing KI did was requiring masks to be worn, as it forced the guests to follow in the footsteps of what associates and executives are doing. 1
