If Phantom Theater came back..

Charlie Brown Fairgrounds dark ride shooter new in 2026!

The park has to know at this point people want phantom theater back and that if they did it correctly it would be a big hit. However, they have to be willing to shell out the money for an animatronic based dark ride because while I'm sure screens are cheaper, they would not be the same nor satisfy the fans of the old attraction. I think it's great that KI has brought back some classics like the antique cars and flying scooter but the phantom theater would be the biggest return of a former attraction we've seen yet

Well the regions largest Starbucks is on one side of the fountain, so maybe in line with all the alcohol additions recently, the Boo Blasters space will be converted to the largest Party Source. :P

Maybe go the Disney route and replace Boo Blasters with something like Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway themed with Peanuts characters of course. It would be a better fit for Planet Snoopy:

Link to Concept Video

Posting this on this thread because the minute I heard “Family Thrill Attraction” my delusional mind immediately went to a Phantom Theater reboot. I made a mock-up video for a PT based Intamin Dynamic Motion Stage that could be the rumored replacement for the Tomb Raider/Crypt building. I chose this ride system based on the success of the Danse Macabre ride at Efteling (Which I also used for the video since I didn’t feel like attempting to animate something).

I imagine the queue of the ride basically being the scenes of the dark ride: The first hallways can be the Portrait hallway/generic theater lobby, the previous first preshow room can be a prop room line section, and guests could first enter a preshow featuring Maestro on the organ explaining the history of the theater. The main ride area would be formatted like the pepper’s ghost theater scene, with the underneath of the turntable that dips into the floor being themed to the Boiler Room.Untitled4228_20241117124445.pngUntitled4226_20241117113628.png

It will be more expensive than building Orion and the park combine.

Perhaps I didn’t look at how much this type of ride actually costs.. or what manufacturers the parks typically work with, but idea still stands of a Phantom Theater thrill ride in Tomb Raider’s spot.

I rather see it revitalize in the near future.  Also want a Vekoma Madhouse in the Crypt building too.  Besides Phantom Theater fits better in International Street to the extent.

Respectfully, this is a bit rude. Trust me, I completely understand your passion for the things you'd rather see in The Crypt's building, but it's really not necessary to shoot down anything anyone else wants. The park doesn't make capex decisions based on opinions on KIC.

I rode the madhouse at SFNE a few years ago and didn't care for it at all. It just didn't do much for me, just wasn't my cup of tea. I'm a sucker for ultra intense experiences. (Except 2008 Crypt) Lol. Yeah, I just want the original ride back, or something as close as possible, even the ferris wheel in a box Crypt.

But a madhouse would be better than the 08 Crypt, I'll admit that. That was scary. And not in a good way either.

I just want something intense and incredible back in there and a madhouse just wouldn't fit the bill. I don't know what else would work though.

Make the madhouse invert completely with lap bars!!!! Lol. That would be insane!! Probably would be impossible though.

If they do have to modifiy the building, I wonder what would have to be done to it. Would any theming have to be removed? Because a madhouse seems like it would take up  more space than the giant top spin.

Great! I had the exact same experience. That doesn't make it necessary OR okay to put down other people.

No it doesn't, and I was wrong on that. Thats my fault.

Could a madhouse potentially be modified with different restraints so it could invert? Because that sounds absolutely incredible if it would be possible.

A madhouse though does sound a bit like a maintenance nightmare due to the complexity of the design. But who knows, maybe it could work. If that building has to be modified and any theming has to be removed, I wonder if they'd scrap it or not. If your wondering, yes, I'd be insane enough to buy a piece of that TR:TR theming. LOL.

I would beg the differ. Giga Coaster, and Water Coaster were very much desired additions by the majority here.

The park answered with Orion and River Racers. As far as what our expectation was and what the park delivered however, is a different story.

Giga coasters and water coasters have also been industry trends for the last 15-25 years, and the park chooses their rides from the same catalogs we're looking at.

I was/am not suggesting the park ignores enthusiasts entirely, but my point was that the park does not exclusively consult opinions on the KIC forums when deciding what to add. Nor should they.

Even if the cost is high, whether it be the proposed motion stage or a flying theater, its not to say the programming and show couldn't change every few years similar to action theater. You could market it as an entire new ride if ridership begins to drop, and then long term it could be a worthly investment. You could even make a more extreme version for haunt, or holiday version for winterfest
