Something is Surfacing 9-19-2024

I completely agree! It is supposed to be fun being on the forums talking about our favorite park. I just stay away that kind of banter that is argumentative in nature. Get enough of that everywhere else.

And, funny story. A person called me a name on another coaster site and really was not nice to me for some odd reason, no matter how I tried to be cordial. We had an event up at KI a year later.  I saw his screen name on his sticker on his shirt, and approached him to say hi. The look on his face when he saw me and how big I am was priceless. I was like, you remember the name calling you did. He apologized profusely. I had no ill will, just wanted to make him realize, you don't always know who is on the other side of the keyboard. So, be nice and have fun and respectful.

Siren's Curse has been officially added to the Cedar Point app. Here's the details I've noticed after comparing the area before and after on Google Maps:

  • The midway appears to be slightly more narrow due to the addition of Siren's Curse
  • Iron Dragon's new queue will take up the former spot of the Celebration Plaza stage
  • The area I've highlighted with a purple box appears to be where the in-queue lockers will be located. There's also a wider path section right before you get to the stairs leading up to the station. I assume that's where the metal detectors will be located.
  • The exit will have you go through some sort of building, it's unclear whether this building will just be used for on-ride photos or if it will have a gift shop in it as well.
  • There's also another new building located right next to the exit building, what this will be used for remains to be seen.
  • The parking lot located between Siren's Curse and Valravn is new. The rerouted perimeter road goes through part of where the current parking lot for the marina is, so the new parking lot will likely be added to make up for that.

From what I gathered at Winter Chill Out, the Iron Dragon Queue will be closer to Coasters and the Fast Lane will utilize the former entrance queue. I am guessing that this artist rendition isn't fully what the area will look like. Based on the removal of Celebration Stage, I was able to see how the midway will not be all that bottlenecked.

It was a little confusing trying to figure out how the queue line moves through the ride layout. The way the FastLane line and standard line both go under the tilt made me think they were connected horizontally and not vertically. It's interesting to see how the FastLane queue has a little cattle pen area as well. The fact that almost the entire queue is also under the coaster will be very interesting to experience, especially the little bridge over the track.
