BryanJay
With the fact that the legacy Cedar Fair Peanuts license expires at the end of this year and isn’t removed (and that peanuts merch was put on sale at the park recently) some people have talked about snoopy and the peanuts leaving the park in favor of the Looney Tunes. He’s my ideas for a looney tunes area in the park. Here’s my ride name replacement suggestions (although it really doesn’t matter which character goes to what ride for the most part) Charlie Brown’s Windup- Gossamer Ghoul Spin Joe Cool’s Dodgem School- Michigan J. Frog Dancing School Woodstock Express- Bug’s Bunny Express (Or Beastie if you want a throwback, but it wouldn’t fit with the rest of the theming) Snoopy vs Red Baron- Foghorn Leghorn’s Flight School Woodstock Whirlybird- Daffy Duck Helicopter Tours Character Carousel- Remains the same basically The Great Pumpkin Coaster- Elmer’s Opera (Theming based on the What’s Opera Doc? short) Surf-Dog- Duck Dodgers: Galactic Adventure Peanuts Off-Road Rally- Looney Tunes Road Rage Snoopy’s Junction- Bugs Bunny Express Linus’ Beetle Bugs- Lola’s Lady Bugs Snoopy’s Space Buggies- Marvin The Martian’s Space Buggies Kite Eating Tree- Sylvester’s Tree House Franklin’s Flyers- Taz’s Tornado Twirl Snoopy’s Soapbox Racers- Road Runner Run | Theming remains the same with Acme crates and supplies placed around the ride area. With the audio system, I can definitely see the “meep meep” sound effect being played when you reach the deadend track. Woodstocks Airrail- Tweety Bird Flight Charlie Brown’s Rushing River Log Ride- Kenton’s Cove Keelboat Canal | Only ride I’m not connecting to the Looney Tunes branding, the name being a reference to a legacy attraction. Ride remains the same except for removal of peanuts sculptures. Sally’s Sea Plane- Porky’s Bus Ride Linus Launcher- Tasmanian Twister Boo Blasters on Boo Hill- Stays the same. Just kidding, if you know me you know I’m gonna suggest Phantom Theater 2! Peanut Showcase Theater- Looney Tunes Theater | Inside is refurbished into a small theater that plays Looney Tunes shorts on loop throughout the day (a indoor break attraction that requires minimal staffing) Beagle Scout Acres- Rethemed to Bugs Bunny Burrows Really I’d feel indifferent to any retheme of the children’s area since I’m physically unable to ride 80% of the rides. The only rides I feel like this would really benefit would be Soapbox Racers since I can see the road runner theme working really well for that and I also like the idea of a movie theater since I love attractions like that at parks. Also my only gripe with the current snoopy theming is the generic pop music in the land, I’d love for them to make it more cartoon specific. Even though I mostly grew up on the snoopy theming, basically all the themes of the kids area has just been “[B-Tier Cartoon Character’s] crazy spinner”, so to me as long as the kids are having fun it doesn’t cheapen the park if the looney tunes theming is added to this location (Which is not the case for me if DC was given a retheme of a current area, even if its Action Zone) I do wonder what the logistics of this would be considering the Peanuts license expires without renewal this year. I think on its own, considering that the peanuts branding is admittedly minimal, it’s a project that could easily be completed in the offseason and for cheap considering they could keep all the rides (plus added bonus if boo blasters is getting/was planning to get a redo in the 2026 season), but when this projects being done to 8 or so parks, I wonder if this would be feasible for Six Flags to do versus what it would cost to renew the Peanuts’ license. I would love the kids area to be like the Sesame Street lands at Seaworld parks or any of the Disney or Universal kids lands, where families can ride a lot of attractions together, but also like obviously I’d prefer that since I won’t be riding Peanuts Off-Road Rally as it is (believe me I tried many many times)
Hawaiian Coasters 325
I really hope KI doesn't get Looney Toons. That IP is so outdated. This isn't the 1980s. If Peanuts isn't an option, I'd be all for rebranding Planet Snoopy into DC Universe. Now that would be better as most kids know who Superman or Batman is.
beastfan11
I’d be sad to lose Snoopy, but Looney Too s wound be fun. Not as outdated as many assume. Are the Peanuts that much more popular? DC might work better in AZ, but who knows.
Losantiville Mining Co.
I'd move Charlie Brown's Rushing River Log Ride and Linus Launchers to be part of Rivertown and revert CBRRLR to be the "Kings Mill Log Flume" and Linus Launchers to be something woodsy/rustic. Rivertown needs at least one flat ride (aside from the KI & MV RR), and it would make sense to reincorporate these into the area. Camp Snoopy and Planet Snoopy could either be combined or remain separate. I feel like Cedar Fair was planning to renew the Peanuts license agreement when they chose to install Camp Snoopy at Kings Island and the two new CS rides at Carowinds. I can't imagine Six Flags wants to bear the cost of having to replace all of that Peanuts signage, figures, branding, and characters right now. We'll probably understand more about their plans when Great America announces their new 2026 kids area. I very much do not want to see Action Zone become a DC land. They can put DC or Looney Tunes in Planet Snoopy/Camp Snoopy, just don't force IPs like that into more of the park. Either way, this is an awesome concept! Peanuts are definitely more popular currently, especially with new shows on Apple+ and the peanuts are incredibly popular overseas in Asia and within Gen Z, specifically Snoopy 2
RollerColt
I think I’m in a minority here, but I have never really like Looney Tunes… Bugs Bunny annoys me. Just my unpopular opinion.

Oldschool75
Or…..since the Hanna Barbera IP is under the WB licensing, bring back HB characters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Peanuts has low-key maintained some popularity, and has stuck around also because of its holiday specials. But Looney Tunes are iconic in the same way as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. They're always around. HBO Max had some new shorts (that were really funny) a few years back, there was a recent Space Jam movie and a Porky Pig and Daffy Duck movie, and next year there's a Wile E. Coyote movie. Of course, the ironic thing would be that WB is licensing these characters and has tried to bury them in recent years (Ketchup Entertainment is releasing the movies). But I think there's always a cultural awareness of the Looney Tunes. Tonally, maybe this is just my overall distaste with Six Flags, but I've always felt Looney Tunes to be slapdash additions to the park. I like the gentleness of Peanuts, and it's always been a good fit to the park. I'd hate for them to lose Planet Snoopy unless the parks really want to find a way to invest in the Looney Tunes branding and theming.
kingsislandfan1972
As much as I like Peanuts, I think it would actually be cool if we see the Looney Tunes at Kings Island. We've seen characters come and go at Kings Island, so I'll be sad to see The Peanuts leave but I'm interested to see if and what they do with Looney Tunes. homestar92
If they don't renew the Peanuts license, I'd expect to see visible signs of rebranding during Winterfest. The current Peanuts license is good through December 31, 2025. The park is open until midnight that day and there will undoubtedly be some kind of new years celebration - meaning guests will still be in the park after the clock strikes midnight, and that's a problem for the licensing. One would assume that if guests are in the park, they cannot be using IP in an unlicensed way. And yes, rights-holders are absolutely that picky about their IPs. At minimum, I'd expect the Planet Snoopy entry sign to be stripped of any Snoopy references by end of day on December 31st. Presumably if they close that area and remove the one piece of signage visible from I-Street they're more likely to be OK from an IP rights perspective. If that's the route they go, it could conceivably stay up through the end of December 30th. Doesn't take very long to take down a sign. Losantiville Mining Co.
I'd assume any agreement they have would either include a clause either allowing time to remove all of the branded theming/characters or one stipulating that the business may continue to run any rides using those characters until the end of the operating day on the specified date. Since the park's NYE operating day would technically still be ongoing for those wee hours on New Year's Day, they'd likely have the ability to at least run some things. They might run into issues for parks that stay open until January 4th (or around then), but there may even be a clause allowing usage until the end of the park's operating season. It all depends on what the contract says about the transition between IPs. Taking down a sign is easy, but they are not going to do that while the park is in operation and the area(s) is (are) open. The license agreement with the Nickelodeon characters would have allowed them to be used beyond 2010, but Cedar Fair chose to end it early. Rights-holders may be super-picky about their IPs, but I doubt anyone involved in this most recent Cedar Fair (now Six Flags)/Peanuts licensing agreement would have allowed it to be so strict about having IP areas closed/removed by midnight on the date the license ends. shark6495
I have to hard disagree with anyone saying Peanuts is more popular than Looney Tunes. I think around here we see so much Peanuts stuff that it is a little bit of a confirmation bias.
Hawaiian Coasters 325
I came up with this idea since Six Flags owns the rights to Warner Bros properties. Instead of just having looney toons take over the kids area, make it a full on WB Discovery World. Think Nickelodeon Universe where it wasn't just one show IP, it was the whole brand. It also would bring back nostalgia since Scooby Doo is part of this. Maybe Scooby and the gang return to the Haunted Castle?
disco2000
Not that ChatGPT is always right LOL, but I asked it which is more popular LOL: When comparing the popularity of Peanuts and Looney Tunes, it really depends on the context — whether you're talking about cultural impact, revenue, or fan base. Looney Tunes: These characters (like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Tweety Bird) are more ingrained in global pop culture. Since its creation in the 1930s, Looney Tunes has expanded across countless TV shows, movies, video games, theme parks, and merchandise. Its vibrant, slapstick humor has had an enduring appeal to both kids and adults worldwide. The franchise is a staple in animation history. Peanuts: Charles Schulz's Peanuts, which features Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the gang, has a different kind of cultural impact. It's much more grounded and often thought of for its heartwarming, sometimes melancholic, messages. Peanuts is widely loved, especially around holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving (thanks to the iconic A Charlie Brown Christmas and It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown specials). The strip itself ran for decades and left a huge mark on the comic world, though in terms of global brand recognition, it’s slightly less in-your-face than Looney Tunes. In terms of sheer recognition and reach, Looney Tunes might take the lead globally, especially considering its continuous presence in pop culture and merchandising. They are currently looking to un-merge and become separate Warner Bros. and Discovery Global again in 2026. I can't recall which company would get which properties, but I think the DC characters and licenses will stay with Warner Bros. while the Looney Tunes properties may go with either. I fear that any changes beyond new signage and paint will only lead to the area having less trees and awful appearances.

They are keeping their film and television studio divisions and IP while Discovery is taking their TV-channel properties, such as The Food Network, Cartoon Network and the Turner stations. WB should still have the rights to the Looney Tunes and HB libraries of characters and shows. However, while Warner Archives will continue releasing Blu-ray compilations from these properties, any new endeavor featuring Bugs Bunny or Scooby Doo will most likely be a licensed-out affair. The current WB regimen has little to no interest in producing new content with these characters. The nearly-completed Scoob: Holiday Haunt was dumped for a tax write off while The Day the Earth Blew Up and Coyote vs. Acme were rescued from the fate thanks to a smaller distribution named Ketchup Entertainment, who purchased the distribution rights. Weird thing is, both Scooby Doo and the first Space Jam are still popular with children today.
