Hawaiian Coasters 325 Posted March 31 Author Posted March 31 I mean Music Hall looks kinda like a castle so maybe the park is going for that kind of vibe with it. 1 Quote

If it we’re to be inspired Music Hall/CSO, they’d bulldoze the entire building and replace it with an unwanted concert venue designed for the ultra-wealthy. Thank whatever god you believe in that they’re not involved in this project, architecturally related or not. 1 Quote
johnjniehaus Posted April 1 Posted April 1 While I'm not completely sold on the repainted castle look everything I've seen on the interior is stellar Quote

What’s inside matters the most. Definitely still looks like a castle. I agree 100%, I think most of the budget went on the inside of the building 😅, but nonetheless I am still excited. 2 Quote
Losantiville Mining Co. Posted Wednesday at 11:32 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:32 PM I'm still trying to figure out, is this the wall that was right there or is it a new path. Now that it's been a few days since I first noticed it I'm starting to think it's just the wall. It'd be really cool to have a path there again (honestly there should be one for the emergency door IMO). The confusion really stems from the fact that a) I'd never seen it on the webcam before and b) it didn't look like the wall. 2 Quote
Hawaiian Coasters 325 Posted Thursday at 12:04 AM Author Posted Thursday at 12:04 AM Looking closely at the "new" concrete path, there does seem to be some sort of temporary fencing set up likely for an extended queue. 1 Quote

I've been seeing those as well, though from this distance they don't entirely look like the temporary queue fencing KI normally puts up. Could it be possible that they're slot-in extended queue stanchions/fencing like some other parks use? That would be a much prettier alternative to the temporary metal fences they normally use. A simple post and chain fence would accomplish the same effect while also looking better than what the park already uses. Quote
teenageninja Posted Thursday at 12:27 PM Posted Thursday at 12:27 PM I'm wondering if this could be ADA access? Quote

Hawaiian Coasters 325 Posted Thursday at 03:04 PM Author Posted Thursday at 03:04 PM The exit ramp is already ADA access. There would need to be a ramp from the lobby to the load area as that's up a set of stairs from the lobby queue. 3 Quote
OwenFromTheRacer Posted Thursday at 03:08 PM Posted Thursday at 03:08 PM Circled in the photo is wall, it was there when it was Boo Blasters Quote
beastfan11 Posted Thursday at 05:27 PM Posted Thursday at 05:27 PM Short video teasing the “new” facade has found its way to Instagram. Check it out! The disembodied flashlight hands are… a choice. But I’m impressed with the amount of work that went into this. Still think it looks like a castle, though. Looks good! 6 Quote
BryanJay Posted Thursday at 05:38 PM Posted Thursday at 05:38 PM I don’t like the eyes or the notes, the rest of the facade looks solid though. I’m not sure if it’s the finished landscaping or just a result of construction, but I love how deserted it looks. I actually really like the flashlights pointing at the sign, I think it’s clever. I’m curious what logo they’ll use. 4 Quote
Fishdinner Posted Thursday at 05:56 PM Posted Thursday at 05:56 PM I don’t mind the look of the refurbishment, even though it still has a castle look. One thing I did notice is at the very end of the video, you can see a No Legs Larry Tragedy “mask” (Below). 2 1 Quote

johnjniehaus Posted Thursday at 06:13 PM Posted Thursday at 06:13 PM So I'm digging the color scheme. I am still on the band wagon of they should have gotten rid of the castle and made a custom facade for the building but hey I get it sometimes you just repurpose what you already have. For reusing the castle it looks pretty darn good. Love the new colors and the treble clefs on the towers are spot on. I do think the wooden slats with the eyes cheapens the look (has really bad boo blasters vibes for me). Overall looks decent and I hope at a minimum they got rid of that stupid mouth with the teeth you walk into...like replace it with theater doors at least please. What kinds of theater haunted or not has a giant mouth with teeth as the entrance? 4 Quote
Fishdinner Posted Thursday at 06:20 PM Posted Thursday at 06:20 PM I also noticed that the lower left “Tower” isn’t fully painted red while the right one is.Left VsRightThere are better pictures 1 Quote

Losantiville Mining Co. Posted Friday at 03:19 AM Posted Friday at 03:19 AM I like the new color scheme more than I thought I would. Would it have been nice to see bigger changes to the castle? Definitely, but I still think it's a lot better than what was there for 15 years after nothing substantial was changed for Boo Blasters. The view of the right side windows was more hidden during its time as Boo Blasters. It's possible that once the new foliage grows in it will be covered more. The eyes give me Scooby-Doo vibes more than anything, which is a nice little callback if anything. The center-left pillar of the entrance Finally, a look back at the original facade. I don't think they would have ever sprung for something this realistic when the new ride is already so much more cartoon-y than the original. That's fine with me. (Photo: Rick Davis via DAFE) 2 Quote

Honestly its starting to look more Scooby-Doo then when it ORIGINALLY was Scooby-Doo. 😅 (Note I'm a BIG Scooby-Doo fan!) 2 Quote

Agree - its WAY too much going on and introduces a conflict into the narrative based on what we've seen so far. The interior looks "new" - just spooky but not abandoned and rediscovered. I seemed like the story was more "this is a phantom theatre that brings the spirit world's best entertainment to the living - enjoy the newest production" not "we have discovered a long-abandoned theatre and have 'disturbed the spirits' with our need to 'see the theatre" Now it's a comically distressed looking exterior that doesn't really look authentically distressed and a new looking interior - maybe the show scene will tie it all togther, but as of now REALLY not liking the exterior. Should've not done the crumbling plater and boarded up windows. WAY too literal and not in a good way 2 Quote

I’m curious what logo they’ll use. Thought the same. The music notes gave me Magic Kingdom Birthday Cake Castle vibes at first. Eyes looked a bit cartoony, too. But cleaning those up, along side some of the more castle-y bits made it look a bit plain. The more I’ve looked at it, the more it’s grown on me. Not that I hated it or anything, but I have a feeling it will work well with the art design of the ride itself, which we haven’t really seen much of. As far as the sign, I’d imagine it would be the official logo: But personally, I feel something like this would look better color-wise: 2 Quote

I think it will definitely look better if/when the foliage grows in. Removing the eyes does make the windows look a little plain, but the issues with the parapet could be solved by adding a roof trim like the original had. It could either be flat (like the image below) or still be curved to go with the rest of the current structure. The rubble and missing stucco details are fine IMO. They add to the rundown look the ride is going for. (I think this image was made by either BryanJay or Hawaiian Coasters 325, sorry if I got it wrong though!) One thing that keeps getting me is all of the people who are baffled to see that the ride will have a very cartoon-y art style. I completely understand why they wanted a more refined look, but this should not be a shock to anyone who's seen the singular piece of promotional art that's been used for the new ride since August. 3 Quote
super7 Posted Saturday at 01:04 AM Posted Saturday at 01:04 AM Of course they cut down the trees around the entrance This chain is incapable of building anything new and preserving the trees. KI continues to have less trees every season. 3 1 1 Quote
