Season Pass Complexity and Unfairness
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
Is the complexity/unfairness that you have to pay the initiation fee again if you want to upgrade between memberships? Is it that if you're already paying for a pass and upgrade to a membership then you'll lose out on any money you've already paid? Something isn't making sense to me with this scenario. -
Kings Island General Discussion 2026
Outdoor Man replied to Losantiville Mining Co.'s topic in Kings Island
Don't mean to always be a "complainer" on the state of the park in 2026, but here goes again. Sat along the fountains tonight. I don't think they're on a "program" anymore.... and it appears that 22 fountain jets aren't operating. In addition, there are weeds in the mulched areas in the grass area between iStreet and the fountains. Also, the Carousel. You know, perhaps the oldest attraction in the park celebrating 100 years this season, there appear to be more lights out on the pavilion roof than work. Kings Island management: these two things should be your showcase to people entering and exiting the park, and they look like an afterthought. -
Something I've noticed recently is that whenever there's an event logo used across different parks, Kings Island has started using the generic version instead of adding the park name over it. For example, Carowinds, Kings Dominion, SFNE, SFOT, both California's Great America and Chicago's Great America, Magic Mountain, Frontier City, and Knott's Berry Farm all have their park names integrated into the Celebrate America's 250th logo — Kings Island just uses the one with the Six Flags logo. I've also seen it with the Star Spangled Nights logo (even after it was updated from the singular night logo) and the Food & Wine Festival logo. I can excuse the Grand Carnivale logo missing the park name since KI is the only park it's at. Is that something that the local PR folks are in charge of or is it more of a corporate thing? All of that said, I'll be very curious to find out just exactly what this event will look like at Kings Island. The press release lists a ton of cool stuff, but I can imagine a world where only half of the stuff gets implemented depending on the park. It's also interesting how late the information for this celebration was released considering we're about two weeks away from the actual 250th anniversary.

Kings Island’s Newest Merchandise
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to standbyme's topic in Kings Island
During my recent visit to Soak City I noticed that there's either very little or no Soak City branded merch. It may not be a standard practice for waterparks to have specialized merchandise, but I think it would be cool to have some specific stuff beyond the name-brand swimwear and the generic tropical print items. It would be especially nice to have if Soak City ever gets a Carolina Harbor-style rebrand (insert another Wildwater Junction pitch). -
Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare New in 2026
Orion-XL200 replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I think so. Worth noting, the building that formerly housed the Pirate Ride not only houses the kids trick or treat house, but it also houses park services. They'd have to find a new location for that if they were to go there. -
Season Pass Complexity and Unfairness

According to guest services, if you were to buy a membership and want to upgrade to a different level (think going from Gold to Prestige), you would lose any $ paid into it (including add ons) and have to start all over again. -
I would 100% support a KD like makeover of the Royal Fountains.

Was anyone at the park today and saw Congo Falls running?
- Yesterday

Yep, I clicked on a few other rides and no pages are missing. Maybe this is a sign its end is near. 🤔

The page for Congo Falls is gone. https://www.sixflags.com/kingsisland/attractions/congo-falls

Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare Reviews
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island
Or if you're like me and know the illusion a little too well, so it doesn't work. It's like when you know how a magic trick works. IMO the bust is not in the best setting since you can tell it's a box on a pedestal. -
I've said numerous times in the past that the 4th of July at KI should be more than just "come and enjoy the park as is during the day and watch a bigger firework show." It should have special activities, entertainment, and food offerings during the day. Sounds like the new regime has similar thoughts.

For July 4, a lot of buried details in the article for what to expect at Kings Island for food, drink, entertainment, decor, and fireworks https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/six-flags-parks-in-12-states-from-coast-to-coast-celebrate-americas-250th-anniversary-with-spectacular-fireworks-festive-eats-historic-thrills-and-patriotic-summer-fun-302802608.html

Gargoyles eyes have lit up on my rides, and the inverted bust is an “analog” effect/illusion that doesn’t have the option of not working, unless it’s unlit or you have vision problems.
-
Are the gargoyles eyes supposed to light up and is the concave statue supposed yo have a turning face? I thought i saw those effects on the opening video.

Some really solid footage of The Smurf’s Enchanted Voyage from a Reddit post. Worty checking out for those interested.

Im going to stick with my gut and say park improvements and enhanced live entertainment and maybe a more stacked special event calendar with some pop up events like 5ks, food truck festivals, pass holder ride nights, maybe a concert or 2? Think 2008 or 2022. Best case scenario for a new attraction we see a new flat ride or another expansion/renovation to the kids area or Soak City. I mean KD during their 2010-18 coaster drought got 2 Planet Snoopy expansions in 3 seasons.
