You have very bad luck. I have not been the past few years but based off of my experience, it seemed to be up more than it was down. I can only remember 2-3 times I’ve gone and it’s been closed for the entire day. I do remember some late openings but it seems like it was fairly reliable.

I rode Scooby Doo only once and don't have much but a few flashes of memories from it. Boo Blaster was always a part of my childhood and while it's been in really rough shape recently, I have enjoyed it for what it is. My favorite story was standing in line for it during winterfest, the couple Infront of us got into an argument about what ride had previously been in the building. The husband said "hey didn't this ride used to be the outer limits?" And the wife said "No that's on the other side of the park. I think this was tomb raider" and the husband replied "No, tomb raider was at Universal"

Kings Island General Discussion 2025

I say they should get M&Ms to sponsor the monster and then paint the pods all different colors like M&M candies and call it the M&M Monster! -
I think it's funny how the park keeps trying to cater to families but all my family members and friends haven't been pass holders since 2022. Some of them are actually getting excited about the park again with the potential of a phantom return
-
We were leaning towards not ruining our passes until we saw these teasers. While Boo Blasters was our kids faviorte I hoping they will quicky forget about it with this. Kings Island please please dont mess this up!

No sense in using AI if you have original artwork designed already. Given the pin sets using the original performer posters, I’d assume they’d have the ability to use them within the new ride…. Should it be coming back.
-
Hope not either. There are so many things wrong with things generated with AI slop. For starters, it’s highly disrespectful to the literal thousands of years of human creativity. It’s a slap in the face for just about every artist who has ever lived. Ai slop is also the worst example of plagiarism out there. Not to mention how much water it makes dirty and unsafe to use in areas where data centers have been recently built. Feel like we need to speak out more about the new Six Flags’s use of AI slop and do things like wear anti-AI slop shirts as a regular thing at the parks and write to them about it. The use of AI slop for a Phantom Theater revival would be hugely disrespectful to the original attraction, Encore, and those who were involved in them as well as their many fans. If they really want to go cheap, they could always try to reuse whatever posters and such are still left from Encore and the original attraction. I don’t know how much commissioning artists who work in the amusement industry to create graphics these days costs but I’ve seen some artists in like the furry community charge a couple hundred dollars for logo design.

Kings Island General Discussion 2025

But you can literally stow your carryons in the floor of The Bat and Junkyard Coaster. Or at least when I was there last year you could. Why would they the put lockers there? -
Not necessarily a ride wait time thing (it's close enough), but on my most recent visit I experienced two full-stops in short succession on Boo Blasters due to loading/unloading. I wasn't bothered by it, I just found it interesting since I'd never thought about how those minor delays might impact wait times. They might not impact them at all. Maybe with this new attraction we'll see new or modified ride vehicles that are easier to enter and exit. (The current ones are easy enough to use, but I've also never seen someone attempt to transfer out of a wheelchair to ride.)

It sounds like a nice way to get around using the locker machines. I wonder how it will hold up with the standard human competence as I have to assume someone will end up testing its resiliency. I'd really like to see if Kings Island could find a way to install queue line lockers like on Steel Vengeance and Siren's Curse. Mystic Timbers probably has one of the better setups to install them in the park, with the Stunt Coaster coming in close behind it. They might be able to do it for Banshee and The Beast with a little work. Diamondback, Orion, Adventure Express, and The Bat would probably do better with the Yukon Striker-style station baskets and some queue line/exit line work. I can't imagine how you accomplish any of this on The Racer. It's something interesting to think about. -
I believe it's "Kings Island Underground (Uncensored)" on Facebook. I was hesitant to name it in my initial post since some on here may be active on there, but like I said, it seems to be a pretty harmless group.

I saw that during my recent visit to Cedar Point as well at the Top Thrill 2 lockers. I take it those were just added? -

Apparently you can now rent hourly lockers at KI from the comfort of your phone. Signs popped up at all the locker stations with a QR code that you can scan to rent a locker at that location. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that you can rent the multi-ride locker from the mobile site, though t does appear that once you've rented one you can use that QR code to move it to that location. -
What group? I'm in quite a few KI groups so either I'm not in that one or I just don't pay enough attention to it

I think a big part of it was people coming back from Soak City. I ate dinner at RPW and there were a ton of people coming from the train between 6 and the time I got in line for MT around 6:45. Even so, having a posted wait time of 35 minutes and waiting twice that long (yes, seriously - it was almost 8 by the time I finally got on) was annoying. Diamondback's line apparently ballooned around that time too as the app said it had a wait time of 80 minutes while I was in line at Mystic. By the time I got off the line for Mystic was much shorter and the line for Diamondback looked to be closer to 20-30 minutes. I don't know if wait times at other rides increased dramatically around that time or not as the wait times thing wasn't working properly in the app (I got Diamondback's wait time by switching to map view and tapping on the icon for that ride). I ended up cramming a lot in in the last two hours though - Boo Blasters, Soap Box Racers, Woodstock's Air Rail, Diamondback and Woodstock Express all within about a 90 minute period.
-
@Oldiesmann has shared that a lot of the rides this evening had high wait times and he waited longer than the posted time for Mystic Timbers.

Offering it now, if the park uses AI for anything related to Phantom Theater, I will personally redraw it free of charge

I'd love to see this kind of facade come to either the Boo Blasters building and/or to The Crypt's building. Both of them would need to have some extensive work done to look like this, but it would look so good. I feel like the biggest hang up from this concept art to what became PT was the addition to the building (with the posters in front of it). It would be a good place for some additional queue line and/or a much-needed addition of space for the Peanuts Showplace. Whatever we end up seeing, I really hope there aren't any AI posters or artwork. AlpenFury has AI all over its indoor queue and it looks bad.
-
I honestly would love that! The purple castle that was originally used for Scooby-Doo has been an eyesore...
-
When it comes to dressing up the exterior of the building, I'd like to see them attempt to make it like this old original concept art
-
Yes honestly this is the best teaser Kings Island has given us since Mystic Timbers, I'm actually not sure what the next part of the teaser is going to be.

I’m starting to get the idea that you don’t enter the conjuring through the normal crypt building entrance, and they’re making a path available for the side of the building that faces slaughterhouse and you’ll enter through the bay doors over there instead. Since the indoor theming doesn’t go with conjuring that they’ve had since the crypt. That way then you don’t have to go up and down the stairs either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve listened to it like 100 times, I can barely hear “So you wanted to see the theater did ya?” in the static (mostly listening for like syllables). But it might just be nonsense because anything else is a stretch. I’ve never seen any of the Conjuring movies so idk if wind chimes have any significance, but a lot of the Maestro’s dialogue in the original attraction references like portals to another world. “You have entered our world, now escape if you can!” Honestly I love the fact that there’s a teaser campaign that isn’t just “Phantom Theater’s coming back to Boo Blasters”. As of yesterday there’s apparently more construction walls outside of the Tomb Raider building, which makes me even more confused. I’m still sticking to my theory that PT goes in Boo Blasters as a flashlight shooting ride, and nothing goes into Tomb Raider, but the fact that I’m not sure about that is so interesting to me.
-
I went to KI for the first time in 2020, so I never experienced Scooby-Doo. Boo Blasters was good for what it was, but wasn't my favorite by any means. A good ride to escape the heat, but I had one problem with it. If the targets and guns worked, the ride would be much better

Rumors say that it has something to do with the Conjuring Haunt attraction which is said to be in the old Crypt building. But honestly I'm not sure...
