The park as a whole didn't have nearly as good of an atmosphere imo. The theming around the park is not nearly as pronounced. The scare zones with the exception of pumpkin eater don't really feel themed at all. Like coney mall looked pretty much like normal coney mall at night. The fog not being present is a huge atmospheric buzz kill. Only thing Im remembering from my haunt experience thus far are the scare actors on I-Street.

Very cool to see but doesn't really tell us all that much beside the park will likely install a new ride for the 2024 season. Exciting none the less.

I do agree the park has put a great emphasis on improving the overall guest experience through minor enhancements like you’ve mention but my issue becomes with the fact that at times it appears they’re only halfway committed to this. As has been brought up numerous times the theming they’ve paid for, particularly at A72 is not always maintained. In addition I’d argue that flat rides very much are considered little things in the mind of guests yet the park has not added a new thrilling flat-ride in a decade. No excuses for that, especially when parks like Canadas wonderland are able to add a new kids area rollercoaster & a massive thrilling flat ride in the same year. I’d argue 2019 might be the best year for park improvements with Antique Autos, I street and the various other improvements. Largely in part due to the fact there was a new ride.

Yup, there's literally nothing to look forward too for next season. It'll feel exactly the same as 2021 unless they announce something new. Well I guess there will be one major difference between those seasons, that being the price. Still no excuse for a park that makes as much money as KI does to not add any new attractions for 3 seasons.

Not quite sure how hard it was for the park to hire people this season but to be honest I don’t think screwing with peoples hours is not a good way to keep recurring employees. It’d certainly leave a bad taste in my mouth if my hours kept getting cut.

Then they should have announced that today to be honest, because right now grand carnival ain’t going to be enough to convince some people to get season passes. But yes I agree there will likely be other small improvements.

Whatever they do next year it better not be just one area of the park as that’s not going to be sustainable for the park. Next year should be like canadas wonderland where they improve Planet Snoopy while also adding a new high thrill flat ride elsewhere in the park.

They’re renovating the Knotts hotel which probably cost at least 50 million I’d have to assume is taking up a big chunk of that money.

I mean a lot of that stuff seemed to be just for the 50th anniversary, I don’t have a source just speculation.

Most of the 2022 additions are gone come next season, food, fireworks, shows gone.

So nothing new got it.

Yup, perfectly said. I’m not going to spend $1500 on my pass if the park isn’t doing anything besides basic maintenance to “improve the guest experience”. There’s just no excitement for me about next season. Small flat rides go along way when it comes to improving the guest experience, just look at the reception to antique autos. Disappointing that’s all I have to say.

Three years between rides is far too long. There’s no reason as to why basic maintenance and new attractions have to be mutually exclusive. I’m not expecting a major new ride but new flats would be enough to keep guest interested in the park. If they don’t add a new ride then to be honest I don’t see any reason to renew my pass especially with the price increase that’s certainly coming.

Jukebox needs to go. To be honest the food this season hasn’t tasted as good as previous years.

A-yup, it's the Cedar Fair way. Don't get me started on the hand sanitizer, if they couldn't bother reliably filling it up during the pandemic then there's no reason for them to even be around the park. How long do we give it until the glockenspiel stops working? If the park loves to push off maintenance of thematic elements of the park then why do they even bother sometimes. Just spend the money on static theming elements with no required maintenance (Such as the new train theming).

I’d much rather have a new Rollercoasters then Look at a bunch of trees. I don’t think development of the park should stall because of a 40+ year old wooden rollercoaster needing to be “hidden”. That shipped sailed a long time ago.

Not sure how I’d feel if my home park was getting Ko’ed and the initial reaction is people foaming at the mouth thinking about the rides they can take. Screamin swing all the way for a new flat ride.

Canadas wonderland is one of the chains most profitable properties and as such it’s at a much lower risk of being closed. That being said it wouldn’t surprise me if Cedar Fair itself is sold to another company within the next few years.

The reason the park had such low profitability was mostly due to the lease which cost 10 million a year.

Tragic, my heart goes out to all those who love and enjoy CGA. I still Believe this park has a lot of potential but I think the pandemic and potential recession are what have done this park in.

This aged well. One thing has been clear so far this season, Kings Islands pricing for these up-charge experiences is out of control. Feel bad for the suckers (if they even exist?) who spent $400 on the premium vip tour. Glad the park is decreasing the cost but I still don’t think a lot of these experiences are worth their price, $25 would be what I’d charge for a slice of cake and premium firework viewing.

I thought it was around mayish of 2019 when the blueprints were filed. The notice of commencement was filed in 2018 IIRC.
