  1. I hope that they make it clear that the scare actors are not supposed to touch you in any way. One kept stepping on my heels and my friend's heels in Rivertown, and when I told him off for it (I told him that I knew they were not allowed to touch us in any way), he continued to do it. Then, my friend turned to tell him off and he ran to somebody he obviously knew and broke character. I know that is not allowed! On another note, I was waiting for my friend in at the bathrooms by BLSC. There was a scare actor from Madame Fatale's, and she did not break character. She was talking in her scare actor voice, and cracking jokes. That is the quality that I expect from the scare actors. The other thing that I would like to see from the Haunt is the reduction of the fog. I worked there in 2010-2011 at the Coney Mall in food (both all season long), and the fog would come in and make our stand too foggy to even see. It has not improved. I just feel as if this is a safety issue, as in somebody could fall and injure themselves. I also hate the knee sliders and chainsaw people. This is not because of being scared of them, but from hearing it every 5 seconds when working there. These two are just knit-picky and just annoying when you hear them every night! My friend worked in the Coney Mall in rides at the same time as I did, (two rides right next to the Skyline), and shares my opinion of the fog and the scare actors.
  2. Thanks! Will the passes have to have been bought with the same account? My boyfriend and I have renewed our passes the past two years on the same account.
  3. I think that they might go with an aviation theme for X-Base. It would make perfect sense!
  4. Okay, thanks! This will be GOLDEN this season. Two of my friends have the most hilarious reactions on rides!
  5. I am confused about how FunPix works. A majority of my friends decided to get gold passes this year, I added on FunPix so we can get pictures together. I have never had FunPix, and the FAQ section on KI's website is unclear. Does FunPix only include digital pictures or prints as well? I have had the drink plan for the past 2-3 years, and a gold pass for over 12-13 years now. I am just now getting brave enough to spend money on the add-ons, now that I have seen the need for certain ones!
  6. They did that with Shake Rattle and Roll, so that sounds highly likely!
  7. I hope that they add a dark ride! I think that there needs to be more dark rides and indoor coasters. They have already started upping the game of adding more shade! More A/C would be nice, since most of the park is asphalt (which seems to be quickly changing with the addition of pavers).
  8. Am I the only one that thinks that La Rosa's by the slice at Kings Island or the zoo has the best La Rosa's pizza smell? It smells like summer and fun parks! Although, the taste at KI is not always up to the quality I have come to expect with La Rosa's!
  9. I think that the new fountain will look great at night! I was NEVER impressed with it during the day, although, it was a pretty feature! I love the color pops on the buildings as well! Hopefully I will make it this weekend to see everything! The color takes away the concrete jungle feel that matches the rest of the Greater Cincinnati area!
  10. The worst thing about amusement parks (other than queue line times) is having to leave your puppers home alone!

  11. I agree! Here in Cincinnati, we get all four seasons in April and sometimes into May. It makes sense that fountain cannot run properly or be done. It is difficult to get plumbing tested when pipes are frozen, so they have only had a few weeks to work on it!
  12. Thank you! I did not know that! I knew for a fact it was North America. All sources I have read have been unclear about worldwide track! And I know! They have been working with B&M since the late 1980s/early 1990s, and they are killing it in the coaster industry! Thanks! It is the one I was thinking of, actually!
  13. Any of us from the Cincinnati area can just drive by the Clermont Steel Fabricators factory in Batavia area. (Sorry, do not know the East Side of town well). All the B&M tracks are made there for the entire US (I think it includes the rest of North America as well, but I do not know for sure)! And permits to work with B&M were apparently filed according to local news outlets...
  14. I remember it being blue for a time, but I believe they also had a pink one, more recently. It could be the same car, just repainted so there was no association with the Happy Days Diner era. Now, I could just be remembering two different cars and associating them both with KI. I know I saw a car outside that diner within the past 2-3 years, but I cannot remember the color.
  15. That reminds me of the one that used to be near the Juke Box Diner back when it was themed to Happy Days!
  16. I would love to move BLSC to Action Zone. I feel like it would fit there better than the Coney Mall. Even when AZ was more action-movie based, I thought that BLSC was out of place. I also would like to see WindSeeker relocated to the X-Base, as it could easily fit in with the X-Base.
  17. I know this is a concept, but I would not doubt that this is a layout or a potential layout of this ride, however, the name I do not believe. They might bring back Outpost 5, yet not in a revived Son of Beast, unfortunately.
  18. I would love to see a B&M Flyer, but I doubt they will put one in since Firehawk just left. I would also love an RMC at KI, but since Cedar Point got one, I am sure they will not give us one soon. I would love to see a B&M wing coaster, but instead, almost like an X2 style with spinning seats. That would be unique, since the 4Ds are small. I think that my top choice would be a giga. I heard some rumors about a 300-foot lift hill with a subterranean drop making it over 400 feet for a drop. I would LOVE something like that. Kings Island has a lot of good natural land, to keep much of the coaster a surprise. I like this element on The Bat, The Beast, and Diamondback. I am not counting FOF due to the fact it is an indoor. I do not want to see a dive coaster. I enjoyed Valravn, but a dive coaster seems to be the "in" thing right now, along with RMC. But RMC seem to be more custom than a dive coaster. A dive coaster would not be unique, so I say a big fat NO.
  19. I LOVE THIS! It could probably even be expanded to include the Banshee and The Bat! I think that Adventure Express could even be tied into this, as like a prototype mine cart to search for The Beast and Diamondback! I could be a whole park story! I like the idea of a coaster, but I feel like Rivertown could use an indoor ride. We lack those at KI!!! There is the Scooby-Doo Haunted Castle (Boo Blasters now?) and Flight of Fear! (Sorry, I use the old names and new ones interchangeably...)
  20. I honestly think that X-Base needs a lot of work. The theme is awesome and well done, but with Firehawk now defunct, there is only one ride, Flight of Fear. This area will need some flats or something to make it interesting. It seems like they have a lot of activity in that area in general, and I have noticed that they have moved some of the trains and go karts that used to be able to be seen from Firehawk's lift hill. It might be a long shot, but I think that it would be awesome if they added a trackless dark ride game to X-Base, as this could be more of a family ride. It would also be cool if we could get something like Soarin' at Disney parks, but themed to outer space. A third option would be some sort of robotic arm motion simulator (similar to Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey style of vehicle), but trying to re-capture aliens or something. These could all be tied into FOF, as they could say that the aliens have escaped the facility and need to be tracked back down. I think that there is a need for more dark rides at Kings Island. Now, I know Outpost 5 is supposed to be a base in the woods, but if they did X-Base, they could theme it to a secret government base. Outpost 5 could be cryptids, and tie into the theme of The Beast, Mystic Timbers (the weird tree thing), and while also referencing the SOB. Then, there could be an Area 51 section, with theme being abnormalities from space. If this is all under the theme of a secret government base, they could have a lot of room to expand that theme in the future. Disney just added Pandora, has a Guardians of the Galaxy ride rumored to be in the works and one in operation, and will be opening Galaxy's edge next year. The space/sci-fi theme definitely works, and it would not surprise me if Cedar Fair has taken notice of this trend. I know this is a huge stretch, but in my mind it all makes sense.
  21. I remember that when I worked at Kings Island (although it was almost 8-10 years ago by now), the Jukebox Diner would only open the beer stand if the park had a certain number of people in it during the day. I got sent to work at Jukebox on several occasions, and they would only open the beer stand on weekends or EXTREMELY busy weekdays. Some of the food and beverage locations (mostly carts) will only operate if there is a certain number of people in the park. This goes for snack and beverage carts.
  22. It would be cool to have more light displays synchronized to music! That was my only complaint about last year's Winterfest! I think that in a couple of years, it could even contend with the Festival of Lights for "Best Holiday Light Events" (I think that is what Cincinnati Magazine calls it)!
  23. There was an explosion near the edge of the King's Island property in the 1890s at the Peters Cartridge Company. I do not know if this is a contribution to the hauntings or not. But I firmly believe KI is CreepyTown, USA. When I worked there, I had so many paranormal experiences in broad daylight at that park before opening for the day. From being followed and hearing footsteps with nobody behind me, to being touched by nothing, to heavy doors swinging open, KI just creeps me out a lot.
  24. Ah, okay, I did not know that. Thanks for the information! And that is really wild that the New-Gens have not sold yet.
  25. Yes, that is where it is at. Actually, it is directly behind the patio area with the tables between Chik-Fil-A and the International Showplace Theater. The beige gate/fence in the patio area is the entrance to the employee cafeteria. It is super obvious because there are lots of employees that are constantly heading into the gated area or leaving that gated area. I did not know or pay any attention to it until I at the park in 2010 and 2011. Also, a lot of the larger food locations have a small break room/office area in the back as well, but these normally have a desk or a table as a makeshift desk.
